Interesting they can charge murder without specifying! Maybe that means it’s 2nd degree murder by default, unless they affirmatively charge it as 1st degree. But if there has been no superseding charging document charging her with 1st degree, I question whether those jail records can be relied on.
Thanks, the reporter said they did not look at each other,
Curious if that is on instructions from their lawyers?

Nothing was said about the 1 million bond being cash
.
Looks like JH's probation violation hearing is going forward as scheduled, I was thinking that they might put that on hold.
Isn't there a child abuse investigation hearing also in the beginning of September for both of them?
imo
In the video circulating of the court appearance today. RH definitely looks in Jakes direction a couple of times but he never looks her way while the camera is on him at least.

Farming out to other prisons to be executed?
My understanding is they would be transported back to San Quentin for the needle, but really, is anyone ever to be executed again?? Doesn't seem like it.

Trying them together would open up decades of potential grounds for appeals after. Hopeful for the most long-term cost-effective, most invincible route of separate trials.
It seems the prosecutors have chosen to try them together, though — which is the norm from my experience (favored for policy reasons due to judicial efficiency). There are grounds to bifurcate trials, but the prosecution will generally oppose. That’s likely to be a motion we’ll see, though. But my experience is with federal, not California.

Agree totally and your point about policy reasons is true. My hope is that the long-term stability of the verdicts are not endangered by short-term policy, political or pandering reasons.

The other consideration is that if there is any weakness in the prosecution’s case, the prosecutors will want to try them together. (For all the reasons that you anticipate there being grounds for appeal!)

I am getting so tired of the money spent on criminals. There is nothing redeeming about people who perpetrate on a baby. How can anyone hurt a baby?

Who can wrap their head around this type of crime? And then, disposal of the body? Just throw it out, on the side of the highway.

Now, we have to feed them, clothe them, protect their rights, provide for their safety, recreation, all utilities, rent, they pay for nothing for their incarceration. They spend time in classes, doing activities. Good grief, Martha Stewart walked out of prison wearing a poncho she crocheted while incarcerated!

Rant over.

And apparently he didn't want to. I'll say it again smart move.
He went into hiding after that last interview with Ashley Banfield. Said he was getting death threats ...

If they do get out I dont think it will end well for them there at all. This whole situation is an absolute nightmare! Have you been to the house/memorial?
I have not.

Martha Stewart was in a federal camp. That’s not where the Haros are heading.

In the Orrin & Orson West murder case, Trezell & Jacqueline were also tried together - each had a separate attorney. That was a Kern County, California trial. It was really heartbreaking because the only real witnesses were the other kids in the home, they testified in court :(

My state had one March of this year. Three in 2022. There was a break in 23-24. At the moment there are 108 on death row. Our county attorney is anti death penalty and it's caused quite a stir here.

Same thing. I never had 3 months in my life to sit and crochet. Prison seems more like an endless summer camp. Federal prison, state prison, whatever. Look at other criminals, like Chad Daybell, Bryan Kohberger, just chilling in their private quarters. They don't have to work.

Malice murder is considered first-degree murder when it involves premeditation and deliberation.

They haven’t executed anyone in CA for years, but anyone who can hurt or kill an infant should be on Death Row imo

They don’t deserve any privileges or comforts ever again.

Here you have the answer about the 1 million bond.
Before today's hearing I had heard that it would be a 1 million cash bond so there was no possibility that one or both of them could get out on bond with the usual 10%.

The cash part is what I was looking for in relation to their 1 million bond which was said by the lawyer who spoke to be what it is for 1st degree murder.
He sounded like it was the standard amount.
We know their lawyers will try, then try again, to get the amount lowered.

If it stays at the 1 million I doubt even their family/ supporters would risk their money/homes etc by putting up $100,000 or by combining their resources.
imo

I also saw the video and RH definitely was looking in his direction.
So I guess we're supposed to believe the reporter who was there on the scene and not our own eyes, eh? lol

imo
