Legal questions answered in Emmanuel's case.
Apparently Judge Moore gave an interview to the Long Beach Post (paywall)Trying to catch up here but am wondering if anyone can answer:
1. Is it still probable that little Emmanuel's body can be recovered?
2. Has the judge [who made the terrible error in judgement about the initial charge with the sister] made, or will he make, a statement?

Oh my god, we are so sorry, sweet boy. You were born to despicable animals.OMG!
You brutally beat you 10 week old newborn almost to death and leave her blind and paralyzed for life but taking a little course in abuse management makes you low risk to re-offend.
To be capable of such a savage beating on an infant you have to have the deepest rooted emotional/mental problems that no quick course could scratch the surface of.
So now throw in the 2 social workers who JH woo-ed with his deception with the DA, DDA and judge(s) who all gave JH free-range to strike again.

Exclusive | Emmanuel Haro’s father Jake judged as low risk to abuse kids months before son ‘was tortured to death’
Jake and Rebecca Haro pleaded not guilty Thursday for the savage murder of their infant son Emmanuel and lying to the cops about his disappearance near San Bernardino.nypost.com
I’m blanking, do we know details of the 2023 conviction? Which child? The Riverside County Public Defender's Office has assigned deputy public defenders Allison Lowe and Paulette Garthwaite to represent Jake Haro. He is also facing an older charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a gun and ammunition, which is strictly prohibited. He was convicted in 2023 of child abuse of another one of his children and was on probation at the time of the new charge.
Rebecca Haro will be represented by private attorney Jeff Moore, who was appointed by the court.

Emmanuel Haro: California parents to face murder charges of baby
The parents of baby Emmanuel Haro will appear in a Riverside court on Thursday to face murder charges three weeks after they falsely reported their son – who is now presumed dead but whose body has not been found – had been kidnapped.www.ktvu.com
The search for Emmanuel continues.
Anyone with information on this case or the whereabouts of Emmanuel are encouraged to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail at 909-890-4904 or submit an anonymous tip to We-Tip.
Taken to task. Ummm, perhaps that’s because it is absolutely astonishing?I originally posted this on August 29. It is from a Long Beach Post article that isn't behind a paywall. As far as I know, it is the only comment that Judge Moore has made about the case.
On Wednesday, Judge Moore told the Long Beach Post that ethical rules prevent him from explaining why he granted probation to Jake Haro.
“I’m absolutely precluded from commenting publicly about the case,” said Judge Moore, who acknowledged that the controversy caught him by surprise. “In 18 years, this is the first time I’ve been taken to task in this manner about a decision I’ve made.”

Judge Moore, who spent 26 years in the San Bernardino County DA’s office before being appointed to the bench in 2007 by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, retired from full-time service in 2021 but has continued to handle temporary judicial assignments.
(As to your question #1 -- IMO it is possible, but not probable that Emmanuel will be found. I hope I'm wrong. If he is in a landfill, the odds are that he won't be found. He was so tiny. I keep reminding myself that 20-month old Quentin Simon was (partially) found in a landfill, proving that it is possible. Of course, we don't know what LE knows, and they say they believe they know the area where his remains are located. If he was out in the open desert, he won't be found, but if he was in a container of some sort -- maybe?)

Very informative, thank you.Legal questions answered in Emmanuel's case.
I think in the days after the false kidnapping report, when they realized their story was not believed, they made a pact not to give up the location of the body. I envision him telling her not to give up any info and they will get out of any charges. (Yet, he sent LE on a goose chase almost immediately, imo, which is weird.)Why don't they just give up the location of the baby's remains? Do they really think anyone is going to believe that the kidnap happened when they had already disposed of the baby's stuff?! Idiots.
I bet they also texted each other about their little plot.
As for the judge who let JH off, I bet he believed that the mother did it really. Jake will no doubt try the same tactic this time round: "she did it! Im an innocent bystander!"
Works a bit less second time round though Jake. Sorry mate.

I wouldn't trust either of them to keep pact, if they made one. But so far, they are not turning on each other. I'm surprised, tbh.

I'll correct my goose-chase comment to include "imo" because I do think it was a goose chase initiated by JH.Do we know for certain that JH sent LE on a goose chase?
JH's presence at a search site doesn't mean for certain that he disclosed something to motivate a search there. It may be that other evidence (vehicle or phone location data, a witness report of a vehicle matching or similar to one owned by the Haro's parked in that area in a critical timeframe) led LE to the location where they were searching just off Highway 60 near where it intersects with Gilman Springs Rd and they took JH along to observe him as they searched.
Ohhh, thank you, makes sense that it took time. UghHe was convicted in 2023 for the injuries suffered by his 10-week-old daughter in 2018. He wasn't charged until 2021 for that crime. He and his 2nd ex-wife both pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to a 180-day work program and she was sentenced to 120 days.

Ab.so.lute.ly. Just why, why, why? With all the facts he knew, and all the information that was available to him that he must have been familiar with, and being an actual longtime judge with a good reputation, and considering that judges are expected and usually known to be SMART and sensible and logical, I do not see how he could not have foreseen the likelihood for catastrophe, i.e., that JH would inevitably go on to harm other children in his care in the future if not locked up. imo.
Unbelievable, but it happened. Just damm.OMG!
