Statement Analysts would have something to say about how she calls the seat of the car where she was changing the baby a "chair" and says she woke up "on the floor" instead of on the ground.
That caught my ear too. Seems she got a bit mixed up by describing her home instead of the car.

some have posited that is because English may not be her first language or her being bilingual. Which I think is a valid possibility, but I tend to agree with your theory.

She combined real events that happened elsewhere at another time with a made up version of what happened on arriving at Big 5 on the 14.

The inevitable update on this case won't be a good one sadly - I'll be amazed if it is. As always, I hope I am wrong.

She woke up on the floor?

The floor of what? Earth? The floor of Earth. Not the ground. Not the parking lot. Not the asphalt. The floor.

Houses have floors.

Whatever happened didn't happen in the parking lot.

To be fair, there are people in England who refer to the ground (whether earth, concrete, asphalt...) as the floor, you even read it on BBC website. It's not officially correct English and I'm sure it's not used in all regions of England. Certainly not throughout the UK, that I do know.

Also somewhere further back in this thread somebody local mentioned that in that specific area (town and surroundings) where Emmanuel allegedly was kidnapped, people are on the sloppy side with language - both with vocabulary and with grammar, especially tenses.

In some countries, the 'floor' is what you land on, inside or outside.

No Mandy,
Only people who harbor guilt do things like this . If he died , they too, would be relying on the same experts we do to prove their innocence .
If you wake up in the middle of what could be considered a crime scene and your innocent of any crime or lesser ones. Would you put you self though this crap? Because your baby died overnight ? Most people want to know WHY!
I personally would seek medical attention but I also work in the medical field and see/hear of people doing crazy things everyday.
I was considering from another possible perspective (having prior child abuse charges/conviction), it’s been just over a year since those charges were shown and to have your kid pass unexpectedly knowing the odds are already stacked against you for willfully harming a child previously. Panic can set in. You never know how you’re gonna act until you’re in that moment. People do crazy things when they feel they’re backed into a corner.
JMO I am in no way condoning this behavior and honestly am 100% on the side of foul play involving the parents.
Either way everything is speculation at this point. Anything could have happened, only time will tell. I really hope they find this precious baby boy and if he is deceased they are able to put him to rest respectfully as everyone deserves.

Thank you for your input, you make a good point.

Scientific studies suggest the brain is wired to tell the truth, lying requires additional cognitive effort to override this natural tendency. She could have been reliving a very traumatic event in that moment.

Who knows if the above is true, I hope we have some answers soon.

Cars have floors. It might be the floor of the car, and it might have seats instead of benches so a “chair” might be the seat. I don’t know what the interior of this make and model of vehicle looks like.

That said, I don’t think whatever happened happened in the parking lot or in this car.

While I don't believe the abduction story at all, I do know a lot of people that say floor when they are referring to the ground. It's not that uncommon.

I see the point you’re making and consider it a valid one. Not something you and I would do, but we also wouldn’t beat a child to the degree they suffer brain damage.

It could be something like you stated, not a death intentionally caused and they panicked. What stops me from giving that more weight is her black eye which is in a healing phase - not new as of the day he disappeared.

I’m very, very, curious what she told LE about that injury. If we noticed, you can bet they did.

IMO if it was SIDS BECAUSE of the fathers past, I would have gotten LE involved immediately just to clear him, not hide the body
In reference to the post from @Mandy9824

Actually I know of a case in Canada in 1987 or 1988 where an infant died of SIDS and the fairly young father (must've been 19 or 20) did panic. He buried the baby and invented a kidnapping story, the baby was supposedly taken from his truck in a parking lot. Fortunately his father persuaded him to say what had really happened and then both went to the police.
So people don't always act sensibly. Altho there is a difference between a 19-20 yo (brain not fully developed till about 25 yo, and possibly in general not fully mature, lacking experience) and Emmanuel's parents of 32yo + 41yo.

I had my son’s car seat in the middle seat because that is the safest place for it.

But if you had two cars seats, would you still put one in the middle? I was worried my two yr old would bonk the baby on the head, so I separated them to the outer spots. And it's just a lot easier when you have two kids to lift into the vehicle. From what I see of other parents, this is a normal practice.

The reason I am pointing this out, is because there might not have been room to change a baby in the backseat of the vehicle.

What kind of car/SUV/truck was it? Did it have three rows? Did it have a trunk or a bed or a lift gate? I’ve changed a baby on the floor of a SUV, in front of a car seat, before 🤷🏻‍♀️ Did the 2 year old have a car seat?

Something else I find slightly odd, is the decision to change her baby on the car seat rather than walking into the store and using a bathroom which would likely have a changing table. I absolutely get changing your baby in the car if you're not near a restroom, can't leave where you're at, baby had a blowout and you don't want to carry that into the store, etc. but she was already on her way into the store to buy the mouthguard.

I don't know. I just never found it easy to change my kids on the seat of the car- although I have done it on rare occasions. I also live in a different part of the country where most public stores have bathrooms for their patrons, so that may be influencing my view on this.

You’d never catch me changing one of my kids in a public restroom unless I had zero other alternatives. Most of the changing platforms were so gross I wouldn’t touch without gloves. But I agree, a squimy baby isn’t always easy to change in a car.
