Police find 'inconsistencies' after mom says 7-month-old boy was kidnapped outside California store

Jake Haro was convicted of felony willful child cruelty in June 2023 after he was arrested in Hemet, California, on October 12, 2018.

He was jailed for 180 days and is still working through his 48 months on probation with a 72-month suspended sentence, according to Riverside County Superior Court records.

Multiple people familiar with the crime said his relationship with the mother didn't end well and he beat the child so badly that they suffered a brain injury.

Some witnesses claimed Rebecca Haro already had the black eye she said was from the attack when they saw her last Wednesday - the day before.

What was the parole violation he has to appear for on 9/2?

She woke up on the floor?

The floor of what? Earth? The floor of Earth. Not the ground. Not the parking lot. Not the asphalt. The floor.

Houses have floors.

Whatever happened didn't happen in the parking lot.

JMO
I live in New Mexico & lots of people here call the ground, "the floor".Especially people who also speak Spanish.

Has anyone outside the immediate family said when they last saw baby Emmanuel? I’ve heard that he wasn’t seen at the football practice - not sure if this is verified.

Yucaipa is a really nice little town, my hubs aunt & uncle have lived there for years (if you blink you’ll miss the exit on the freeway). It won’t surprise me in the least if ppl reach out to this family or rather do something to honor baby Emmanuel.

I believe this was a convicted felon with a firearm. I have some of his records I’ll see if I have that one . (edited to add report)

That black eye did not look recent to me, looked a few days old. Here is a picture of progression of stages of a black eye.

Yup. I was thinking the same thing. I can tell by looking at it that there wasn't a whole lot of force behind whatever hit her.

I can't believe his parents are using this photo as the missing photo on their flyers! Possibly they don't even notice how unhappy he looks

Maybe that is pretty much always how he looks, due to something like low muscle tone. Though they did describe him as being happy. I wonder when/if LE gained full access to their phones; did they quickly turn over all devices to LE?

Something else I find slightly odd, is the decision to change her baby on the car seat rather than walking into the store and using a bathroom which would likely have a changing table. I absolutely get changing your baby in the car if you're not near a restroom, can't leave where you're at, baby had a blowout and you don't want to carry that into the store, etc. but she was already on her way into the store to buy the mouthguard.

I don't know. I just never found it easy to change my kids on the seat of the car- although I have done it on rare occasions. I also live in a different part of the country where most public stores have bathrooms for their patrons, so that may be influencing my view on this.
I said this previously

Many children’s changing tables are use to shoot up or drug prep. I would personally never use them if I could avoid it

Per this screenshot, during this interview he was holding his daughter in his left hand. In the full video with another interview, he was holding the "Missing Kid" flyer in his left hand. Obviously not proof, but it's all I've found so far.
“missing kid” was such a weird thing to me by itself.

I see the point you’re making and consider it a valid one. Not something you and I would do, but we also wouldn’t beat a child to the degree they suffer brain damage.

It could be something like you stated, not a death intentionally caused and they panicked. What stops me from giving that more weight is her black eye which is in a healing phase - not new as of the day he disappeared.

I’m very, very, curious what she told LE about that injury. If we noticed, you can bet they did.
I can't help but wonder why he was not in prison for the other crime.

180 days in jail, this is pathetic. Shame on the judge for this one. <Mod snip - we don't know the outcome yet>

Agreed. Although I don't believe her story, taking all those things into a store is a hassle, if it could be done quickly in the car. I'd just dump the dirty diaper in the store's thrash can on the way in.

I wonder when the last time Emmanuel was seen by anyone outside of the family. And was any event coming up, that Emmanuel was expected to attend, with the rest of his family?
