]I don't see myself wanting to go hiking with my mother [/U]if I was that far along in my pregnancy. I would want to be finish shopping to have things all ready for the baby. Was she an outdoor enthusiast?
To my way of thinking, hiking and walking a trail, and gazing in the desert where i happen to live as a matter of fact is all pretty much the same.
I don't parse my words, and I'd not criticize another either for saying "hiking" vs "walking" because anything in this god-awful desert heat is a killer to begin with. It's not healthy in other words and seems to me living there, she'd already know this. It's always over 100degrees farenheit every day, going up all the way to 110 some days even in the shade. (on my porch) for example and it makes no difference either (heatstroke) if it's walking or hiking or skipping merrily along, anyone can get heat stroke in no time flat. Everyone who lives in the deserts, both Mojave or the Sonoran desert knows this as a matter of survival.
Seems too pissy to me to do so.
