O/T Would someone please tell me what S&BBM means? I've tried searching the forums for a listing of abbreviations, but I am not having any luck finding one. Thank you in advance.

There's a Websleuths Lingo thread in the members only threads "downstairs."

I have read other theories that I didn't agree with and didn't take the time to belittle the poster because I think it is interesting to hear others thoughts. Let's all keep an open mind.

Of course she wouldn't get in the car with NL, but we don't know what all they did to get her out there (drug her, etc.)

Belittling anyone was certainly not my attention and, if I did that, I apologize. I'm certain it was not yours either. My point was simply that after LE has arrested CL and charged him with her murder, it seemed to be ignoring a lot of evidence and second-guessing LE to now say that NL killed her instead of CL. I still think that.

No, that's definitely not her. She is in another video taken on that day in court and is still very blonde. There was even a zoom in on her. My guess is that brunette at the table was a public defender or an assistant.

Snipped and bolded by me. That means you cut out part of what was posted to focus on one part of it and bolded means you bold that part so it stands out.

S&BBM for focus: I have thought about that. NL and EC had once been friends until they had a falling out. Say for instance NL contacted EC and said she wanted to talk to her, to bury the hatchet so to speak before she went back to Alaska, I can see Erin agreeing to it and being willing to meet up with NL. Everyone says EC was a sweet girl. She probably was bothered by losing the friendship she had with NL. She might at least be curious what NL wanted if she was called and asked to meet with NL. JMO

:back: is this taking into consideration that she had told her friend that she was meeting with CL that day? How does this fit into the timeline at all as I don't see?

I agree. Clearly LE has evidence that points to CL as the killer, since he has been charged. Also, it is clear they do not have the same on NL. Not sure why she is becoming prime suspect for so many. I do think she was involved, but jmo, after the murder.

Lingo. Ah! That is why I couldn't find it. I typed in "abbreviations" in my search. Thank you!

There are probably a lot of texts Erin sent to her TN friend that we don't know about. Like how she really felt about Jon and her marriage, about why she fell for CL and started up an affair with him, why she thought the baby might be CL's and not Jon's. Things we just don't know. However, we DO know that she text her TN friend that she was meeting with CL that day for a celebration of her pregnancy.

And don't ya think that NL and CL both are wondering to this day what those texts covered. They'll be waiting for discovery (for CL) and court (for NL, unless CL lawyer or he shares with her)...you betcha... :moo:

Agree. Adding to this, I think it was his last best opportunity before he was going to be moving back to Alaska, too. MOO, he wanted to "clean it all up" before he got outta Dodge so that he never had to look back.

Agree, and maybe Erin told CL that her Mom was arriving for a visit shortly and he wanted to do it before that, knowing in upcoming days, Erin wouldn't be alone---and to wait until after Mom departed may have interfered with when he was leaving for Alaska. JMO

Question for those in the know. Why haven't mines been imploded for safety reasons to close them up? Budget? Historical value?

There are some explanations in the link to the Desert Sun that Dmacky posted. I really liked that article as it went into the history of the mines.

I know it was only rumor that a neighbor/friend walked in on CL/EC, and that she told NL about it, and that NL then told JC. I believe it was true. Too many people knew about the affair, so discretion was cast to the wind. If there ever was a time when CL could have been brought up on charges for adultery, it was when everyone found out about the affair. It seems, too, that there were a lot of folks that knew the affair was ongoing. He could have been charged at any time.

I don't think it ever entered his mind that he could be dishonorably discharged or lose any benefits because of an affair. What he feared losing was his family. No, that fear didn't stop him from having an affair. He could/would/and probably did deny it. He probably had a great explanation for the compromising position the neighbor/friend caught them in. What he couldn't deny was a baby. He had to have believed he was the father. If JC was gone a lot or if EC told him that she wasn't sleeping with her husband, he would be convinced.

My thinking is the affair would be difficult to prove unless both parties directly fess up to it. However, an affair that produces a baby would be easy to prove through paternity.

Also, could JC have indicated to CL he would report the affair to JC's superior if the affair did not stop and the pregnancy was the proof it indeed did not stop?

Why would papaya, pomegranate, or Vitamin C prevent pregnancy/induce abortion??? Sounds like old wives tales to me, and pretty darn healthy! And old BC pills would lose their potency. Now if we were talking the morning after pill- the drugs used to induce abortion, we might be talking.

I'm not sure. I read once somewhere that unripe papaya in LARGE amounts may induce contractions but don't know anything about the "induced abortion" properties of the other ingredients in the suggested concoction. Your guess is as good as mine.

I can't even make my mind go there most of the time. :( It's so sad and horrible to think about. Honestly I hope she had no idea what hit her. I'd like to think she was out for what she thought was a celebratory day with someone she apparently had feelings for and then either got hit or shot in the head from the back, and died or became unconscious very quickly. I have no idea if that's what happened but it's my hope for her sake.

There is so much information coming so quickly I could have misunderstood, but I seem to remember LE saying the manner of her demise was particular gruesome. I fear we will have to brace ourselves, I suspect this is going to be very disturbing. Erin no longer needs prayers, she is in the arms of the angels. My prayers go to her family, and most especially JC.

That's a possibility, but I don't believe JC knew the affair was still ongoing. I believe he was convinced that it stopped when he first found out about it. JMO

Someone would have to go to his CO and report it though. Formal allegations have to be made. Perhaps, that was a threat that Erin made to him later. What I don't understand is that if NL found out from the neighbor that he was cheating with EC, then she already knew he was sleeping around, so wouldn't that take the threat of him losing his wife off since she already knew? So once again, it comes down to the pregnancy. IMO

I'm sorry, that is what I meant to say and didn't. I meant if JC threatened to do that when he found out about the affair the first time and once EC became pregnant CL knew JC would find out it did continue.
