I would be extremely surprised if LE doesn't have a close eye on them, even in AK.

According to the eight year rule, CL is still owned by the Marine Corps anyway. He's required to keep his address up-to-date and attend an annual Marine Corps Muster. This is the reason why I was curious if he was under obligation or signed up with the IRR voluntarily. People in the know believe/insist he's under obligation to the IRR for two years.

Foxnews.com has an article today that she was having an affair with a Christopher Lee, was supposed to meet him the day of her disappearance and LE believes she was shot.

Question:
On page 10 of 12 in the Original Document
http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/1225468/1765-001.pdf
It lists Night Service Request and Statutory Grounds with a paragraph in each,
then, it is BOLDED, and this is my question about who do you think is the complainant?

" And this complainant prays that a search warrant may be issued to search for the same, and that the same
may be brought before a magistrate and disposed according to law. "

I thought it was interesting that the document used the word "prays". IMOO.

Also under the Statutory Grounds it does mention that there's "probable cause to believe that evidence of a felony
having been committed; to wit: PC 187-Murder and PC 18710- Possession of a Destructive Device occurred and that
evidence of that crime will be located at 788 Geronimo Trail, 733 Geronimo Trail, the White Ford E-450 with Arizona
license plate number (snipped by me) and the Green Honda Civic with California license plate number (snipped by me.)"

Maybe it should say "says"? Prays makes no sense, Imo.

Its a side view pict of CL on the horse jayjay, Mr B said he saw a man, I was thinking well CL doesn't look like the man Mr B described.

Oh, but my confusion was that the picture of CL on jayjay was posted around the time Erin disappeared.
Peeps now say the photo was from January.

I'm reading down, then up, then here and there, still back 100 posts - not a good way to sleuth!

I agree. Sounds more like MB described NL. Plus CL looks like a marine to me (not some wimpy guy).
For some reason, lots of marines are on the shorter side.

Isn't "prays" legal terminology? I think the complainant is the police officer requesting the warrant.

The only thing I can think of is, if the word "Prays" is correct and the complainant is a religious person,
family member maybe? Or do they mean the complainant is Law Enforcement?
IMOO.

I think the complainant is usually LE, requesting search warrants from judge. That is why I think it must be a misprint...can't imagine using "prays" on a government document.

Thanks! I was wondering if complainant was LE.
In the Heather Elvis case, I think her father Terry was described as a complainant at some
point in the paperwork and that could have been when he was harassed near his place of work?
So I was unclear. IMOO.

Lots of things ruin lives and families. There are also a lot of people who would not exist if people did not engage in affairs. Affairs happen. Divorce or counseling is the normal follow up, not murdering a 19 year old pregnant woman. As someone's sig says, we are all one bad decision away from ending up with our own thread. Can we please not bash the victim for being human? This is basically the equivalent of asking what a rape victim was wearing and if she was a flirt.

With all due respect, I have to think the poster was not "bashing the victim for being human" and accusing said poster of bashing anyone, let alone the victim, is pretty serious. I personally did not take it to mean the victim brought this all on herself by having an affair. I think the poster was simply stating a well known fact. Nothing more.

It is legalese. "Prays" as in hopes the judge will OK the warrant. Not praying to God.

Yes, complainant is LE, and I have seen "prays" in legal documents. I think it means to ask for, request, etc.

Prays is legalese typically used in the context of seeking equitable relief. (The part of a complaint that contains the request is often referred to as the "prayer.")

I quoted one post, but was addressing more than one and should have noted that. My comment was directed at more than Ms. Eileen730's comments and I sincerely apologize to you, Eileen730, for not making that more clear.

Thanks for the manners check, la2cabo, sometimes we all need to be reminded to be very clear when using only text so that we are not misunderstood.

ETA: I have also amended my original post.

Thank you.

You are most welcome. I knew exactly what you were saying and completely agree with you. Affairs are devastating for everyone involved in one way or another.
