Has it been confirmed that JC was working Sat? I know a lot of people assume he was on duty, but I don't remember reading an actual report that said he was. I've heard just as many rumors that said he wasn't on duty. I think to know this information is very important. JMO.
In theory, and just my opinion, but if JC had something to do with Erin's disappearance- it would actually make more sense and it would be the "easiest" crime to put the puzzle pieces together. When you try to hammer CL and NL into the puzzle, it becomes a little more complicated and the story a little more bizarre. I am NOT saying CL and NL didn't do anything. I'm just saying to put those two together in this crime, it requires many bizarre elements to fall in place.
I can't help but think that if the affair was still going on- it's just as possible that EC and CL planned to take off together when CL was discharged? And maybe somebody found out.
I have a few nagging doubts. Maybe information will be released soon that will clear them up. I wish I was so convinced as everybody else on here.:scared:
For example: Why would CL ask people to go hunting with him if he had murder in mind? It's possible to me that somebody heard him say he was going there.
Why would EC tell her husband about the pregnancy on Father's Day if she suspected it was CL's? If she had an affair in Feb that he found out about- how does she get pregnant again, and he doesn't automatically think it's somebody elses? Did he "trust" his wife? Most men that have been cheated on would find it hard to trust their wife for awhile. Especially if the lover lived right by you.
In the reports that I've read- CL completely denies the affair and only says they've kissed once.
Don't get me wrong- there are plenty of things that make me side eye the heck out of CL.
I cant speak for anyone else but to me it gets very complex for JC to be involved.
As far as we know the Corwins only have one vehicle. Imo, there is base footage at the gate showing Erin was alone when she left the base.
So that would mean somehow that JC would have to borrow a vehicle from someone. Also no one has mentioned seeing JC that day off base. If a person did let him borrow his vehicle they are not going to go down for Jon. They wouldn't want to be charged as an accessory so they of course would tell LE that they provided him with a vehicle. The vehicle and Jon would also be on footage leaving the base.
I believe the base footage shows Jon never leaving the base that day. I have never picked up any suspicion that LE suspects her husband. I think he told them he never left the base that day and they have been able to verify that.
They seemed to be very honed in on the Lees very early on. Searching their vehicle, searching their base apartment, and then going out and serving a warrant at the horse ranch. Even though they were neighbors it is highly unusual that a SW is done of a neighbor's vehicle and dwelling. They had to have probable cause to do these things and not just because they lived by the Corwins.
Then I take into consideration everything in the affidavit told by the ranch owner who gave a statement to LE about what NL said. None of NL words make her look like an innocent person. It makes her look like she has personal knowledge of not only what happened to Erin but where her remains are.
Yes, I would think Jon really had to love Erin a lot to forgive her for the affair. It shows me he is a much more peaceful guy willing to work things out with the wife he loves.
I really think this case is just like many other cases we have seen before and in several cases the murderer was in a branch of the military. They murdered the woman they were having an affair with when that woman became pregnant with their child. Most of these men were married just like CL and had children of their own.
Erin would have to tell Jon she was pregnant even if she knew the child wasn't his. She would probably begin to have morning sickness. If she thought she may have become pregnant all she had to do is make sure she had sex with her husband. Unfortunately, in the military, countless men have thought they were the father of the child their spouse carried even though it wasn't true. Men, Jon's age are very naïve about pregnancies anyway. They just believe what their wives tell them, imo.
Imo, Jon has become a victim too. He has to come to grips that the wife he loved is most likely deceased and murdered by the man she carried on the affair with. And he knows how people are gossiping on base about the affair his wife had.
But even though he has had this heavy burden to carry at such a young age... I think he would like nothing more than for them to find Erin alive.
I just don't believe in coincidences when it comes to criminal cases. Erin's best friend said Erin told her she was meeting with CL that day and Erin hasn't been heard from since.
