BTW, it is my OPINION only that the L couple all hunkered down in the cozy confines of Alaska shouldn't be unpacking. Jus sayin....
Opinion only.
Opinion only.
I hope they will plan more searches as well. The "big push" is leading to a variety of thoughts, and I do hope this is the Big Push to Get Started, not the Big Push for the finale.
IMOO.
I have to say, I have a problem with JC claiming that he was unable to speak about his wife's disappearance if the below statement by the Public Affairs officer is correct. I do not believe that this is just a case of misinterpretation or miscommunication. I assume that the Public Affairs officer would have asked JC's command if he/she told him not to speak before making a public statement to the fact. I also find it interesting that the issue of him speaking with the media was even addressed by the Public Affairs officer at all....unless they wanted the public to know that not only was he not told that he couldn't speak to the media but he was informed that he absolutely had a right to speak to them.
What I can tell you at this time is that on June 30th, Cpl. Corwins command informed him of his right to speak with the media and placed him in a duty status that would give him time off for the next 30 days, Marine Lt. Col. Stewart Upton said via email. Media outlets requested to interview Cpl. Corwin via the Public Affairs officer at Marine Corps Base Twenty-Nine Palms, and Cpl. Corwin declined those requests.

Here we go. LE has been doing such a poor job on this case, it was only a matter of time, now all the headcases, conspiracy theorists and nutjobs are coming out of the wood work:
<snipped by me>
This idiot doesn't even know how to spell cache. Not to mention that everyone knows CL lied when he said he 'only kissed Erin but there was no affair'. Plus why would she forget the evidence she was going to show Chris in the car, especially when she went to the passenger side that morning to get something. If this stuff was there wouldn't she have taken the evidence with her? Give me a break!!
good idea using <snipped by me> though. I should have thought of that for those damned riddles early on.
(sorry, just commentary on what some have already seen that's it, and trust me it's not all that important)
Looking at aerial views of the area they think she must be, it looks like a really good place to get snake bite, heatstroke, dehydration -- not to mention falling down a half-hidden mine shaft. Maybe experienced hikers/outdoorspeople could be helpful, but it's not a place I'd want the general public crawling all over.
Yeah, ... Too bad it's a national park then, huh?
Exactly. This bothers me. There are very experienced hikers who would help. If it is truly because they don't want a crime scene tampered with, then why say she could have left voluntarily?
Yeah, ... Too bad it's a national park then, huh?
Well just guessing, but aside from the possibility of goofing up a crime scene, it might be a liability issue. That's dangerous terrain.
And, since it is a military operation, they dont want to have to manage civilians?
Yeah, ... Too bad it's a national park then, huh?
