The entire drive, from visiting the colleague to the last contact in Sunrise Almaden, is just over an hour. What was she doing for 6 or more hours? Did she stop at Casino M8trix?

I've been wondering about that before as well. Now we learned that her family spoke to her on and off throughout the afternoon and evening. It all started when she couldn't find her rental car in Palo Alto after visiting a friend. Apparently she stayed on the phone with her parents when she drove to San Jose. If I understood the article correctly, her bizarre behavior started in the afternoon.

Was she last seen at 3:30PM if so, then that's probably where she was.

The 2500 Block of Sand Hill Road appears to be in Menlo Park. If so, there seem to be several tech-related businesses there.

Thank you for posting this. She certainly seems to qualify based on what they post about criteria for a "missing person". However, she must have said something to them that indicated she is fine and doing her own thing?

I'm thinking the same. I'm not skeptical she talked with an officer, but I'm skeptical that the officer would disclose the conversation.

That's not how SJPD or any agency works during an ongoing investigation. Sgt in charge previously told media they were not disclosing any information at this time.

The confusion started as soon as she parted ways with the colleague with having difficulties finding her car.

That makes perfect sense. Many of the top Venture Capital firms are on Sand Hill, which you take directly "up the hill" to 280. Right around the VC area you can look "down the hill" and see Hoover tower at Stanford. It's beautiful.
It's highly plausible she went up Sand Hill to 280, and then made the wrong turn at 87. (She went right instead of left to the airport). It's a very confusing interchange; even for locals.

It definitely looks like she made a wrong turn after visiting the colleague, drove a long ways in the wrong direction - talking to family throughout - and then lost contact.

Something about “Im in the Matrix”. Yes, the rest was gibberish, but what if that was part of her clear moments in the conversation with her mom/family?She also discussed going home for Thanksgiving. A part of my theory (as of now) is that she will be seen on the surveillance cameras at Casino Matrix. MOO

She would have made the wrong turn close to 4PM, and she was already confused when she got into her car. 8 hours later she was still lost. That sounds like a Matrix time warp.

Thanks! It's reasonable that she was going directly to the airport. That leaves 6-8 hours where she is lost before she is completely offline. Was someone following her, waiting for her to get out of her car disoriented?

Was she drugged? Has the colleague been involved in searching for her?

Could very well be referring to the film...or the casino next to the airport called The Matrix. I was mostly zeroing in on the "We're" in the Matrix, as opposed to the "I'm" in the Matrix.

She could mean "we" as in her whole family, not that someone was with her.

Does anyone else find it odd that the family was able to get a police officer to speak with EV on the phone Monday night, who then said she was acting disoriented, but still the case is being considered a "voluntary missing"? I mean, how do you even get a cop to call your wife? And then what....? "Oh, yep. She sounds disoriented. Ok bye."???That whole scenario sounds weird to me. IMO

You call and tell them your wife is driving around not making any sense. They call to determine if she's DUI.

Yes, it does sound like a "welfare check". I've just never thought of one being done over the phone. And yes, I function under the premise that LE will always try to help when they can.

Over the phone is the only option if they can't find the person to see them.

If she thought she was in the Matrix, not the casino, she may be hiding somewhere. Along with the car. I wonder if they checked the airport parking lot.

I'm not skeptical. HYPOTHETICALLY: Husband calls and asks them to check on his wife. Cop talks to wife.

Cop calls husband back and says "I talked to her, she's not making any sense but she doesn't sound DUI and she won't pull over or give me a location so there isn't anything I can do."

This would have been BEFORE there was an ongoing investigation. It was just a welfare check basically.

There is such a condition as late onset Bipolar. A colleague was diagnosed with this, with no indications whatsoever before his out of the blue sudden onset. He disappeared for 2 weeks before he was found.
Remember also Margot Kidder who vanished for 4 days before she was found hiding in someone's back yard.
I have no idea whether something like this may have occurred with Erin. The mania and talking a mile a minute with family was evidently out of character.

In the two examples I mention, the condition included paranoia....they both were in "hiding" before found.
Could Erin be hiding? Might she have paid for gas in cash, and just drove to who knows where?
I don't know....it's been 5 days....very worrisome.

The fact that she appeared "completely manic" according to her husband, makes me wonder if she may have gone to a hospital and requested a voluntary psychiatric admission or was possibly evaluated in the ER and placed on an involuntary 72 hour psychiatric hold for evaluation and has been held longer. If she requested to be a "do not announce" (name not released to anyone), HIPAA would require the facility not to release her name if someone called looking for her.

I sure hope this is the case and that she if found hiding but safe. The other alternatives are not very good.
