Once again, posting her last known location (Almaden & Camden) vs. her destination, San Jose Airport. It's clear she went right, when she should have gone left.

My best theory ATM, is that she is off road down an embankment. If so, she could still be alive if she if found soon.

A few things I notice in checking out the area her phone last pinged:

1. There s a venture tech company called Access Consolidated Tech right there. Could just be a coincidence, or she could know someone there as it happens to be in her sector. Access Consolidated Technologies, Inc.
2. On the corner of the interection is a 76 gas station, hopefully footage was available/asked for
3. She had already missed her flight, what if she chose to drive back to SLC?

Driving back could be a possibility. If she was disoriented, good God, she could have driven in any direction.

Yes - if really turned around, she could have kept going and gone on to 101 South right at Coyote. I hope LE checks the stretch before 101/Coyote at McKean (water) and Bailey. If she's off road, that's likely where she is.

One other possibility. We don't know who she last met with. But could she have taken or been given or slipped, some edibles? Edible THC products are very big in the Bay Area. And they affect everyone differently. They can produce mania.

ITA. Accidental ingestion is a possibility. Very easy to do. Regular edibles and thc look alike. Especially the candies. Although it would have worn off by the next day, it could get you into a bad situation while on it.

Years ago, an old friend of mine had a manic episode after smoking pot- it was laced with something- angel dust was it? I never smoked it, so i might have the wrong term, sorry. What happened afterwards was just awful for him and his family. Let's just say, very confused and ended up in a mental hospital for a couple of weeks. Great guy and we're still in touch all these years later. He was home at the time he smoked it and then drove to meet his family at a gathering- how he got there and remembered to go, is a mystery, because shortly after, strange things came out of his mouth verbally and actions way out there for him.

Just wondering if something like this could have happened to Erin.

I'd like to know who was the very last person to see her- hotel clerk checking out? Friend? Acquaintance through a friend or co-workers?

I have on the timeline that a friend was the last to see her but it doesn't read that way on the link I have associated with it. Now I am not sure, dang it. Does anyone remember reading that? For now, I'm going to remove it until it can be verified. MOO

I just realized what might be slowing discovery down is there would be different police agencies.
If the Hwy is involved, it's Hwy Patrol. If off road in the stretch I suggest prior to Hwy 101/Coyote near McKean/Bailey, I *think* it would be Santa Clara Sheriffs. So this may be part of the issue too.

Low on gas. I wonder what that definition is. At 1/4 tank I fill up as I consider that low. On the occasions I ignore my rules, I have 30-40 mile range minimum on the low fuel warning. She really could be in a 30+ mile radius.

I understand what you're saying, Otto. One would expect a tech-savvy individual to have a phone cord. Her mother said she is always on her phone which makes the possibility that she didn't have one even more curious. But, I still have to consider it a possibility as she has been described as disoriented, confused, distraught and not her normal self.

I trust the opinions of her husband and her mother that there was more going on than just the stress of being lost. MOO

Getting lost on the way to the airport would account for confusion and stress. Missing her flight would cause her to be distraught. I guess I'm not ready to take the leap to mind altering drugs or mental disorder when most people who are alone and become lost driving a rental car, and then miss a flight, would be distraught.

Although the family can say that she was more distressed than they would expect for being lost and missing a flight, that's an opinion based on how she reacts in other similar situations. What's her normal reaction to extreme stress?

If she was lost, what does she normally do? What does her husband say about that? Does she stop and ask someone on the street for directions and information about the nearest gas station? Does she keep driving around hoping to sort it out herself? What's her normal reaction to being lost?

What hotel did she stay at? Sorry if I missed it. Wondering if her room came with a wet bar. An inclusive bar or restaurant? Could she have been drugged? MOO EBM

That's the part I don't undestand. You get lost in an urban area and your GPS isn't working. Instead of stopping to ask for directions (though she might have done that as well) you drive around for several more hours, talking to your family and friends on the phone. Didn't her husband say that she appeared confused in her last exchanges? I think it was mentioned that they spoke with her in the afternoon as well. Did she sound normal then?

If we consider she could’ve set out to SLC in her car because she’d already missed the flight, then yeah the search area becomes a whole different ballgame. I think it’s possible. Although she’d have had to get gas. And no charges have been found. So she’d have had to pay cash for the gas, and that seems odd to me considering she almost certainly would have had her credit card(s).

I’m going to be down that way this afternoon, so I’m going to tool around and look a bit. I think I’m going to take 85 from 280 and head that way into the Almaden area. I think if she took 280 and was disoriented she could have accidentally turned onto 85 instead of continuing 280 to take 17 to the airport. 85 would take her directly to the area she last pinged.

Not entirely sure what I’ll be looking for, other than her car of course. But driving around there may give me some ideas.

I’ll report back.
You are awesome, thank you!!! Can't wait to hear your report.

HW says on the Help Find Erin Valenti Help Find Erin Valenti
she had been at alpha conference in Monterey last week, then was visiting friends and colleagues around sf/Palo Alto over the weekend.

I don't see any mention of who those friends were or how she was last seen.

If shes driving around lost and talking manically, did any one of the few people that spoke with her ask her what’s wrong? Tell her to pull over and call 911? Stop at a gas station for directions? MOO

Lots of locals are now chiming in on the missing facebook page. One person is in the neighborhood the ping was in. She has posted in the neighborhood page and asking for everyone to check their cams.

Others are suggesting local drone groups to contact. This is a wonderful example to the benefits of using social media, love to see it!!

Her Mom (she is a nurse, btw) did, she asked Erin if she had taken anything or if someone gave her something. It's in one of the news stories, maybe someone can link it. The question was asked, but I don't think the answer she gave was in the news story?

Her family was alarmed enough to ask whether she had been drinking or if anybody gave her "anything." MOO

Utah tech CEO goes missing on way to San Jose airport
Valenti's husband and parents say they all spoke to her by phone Monday and something wasn't right. They say she seemed manic, but has no history of mental illness.

"She seemed confused. We said, 'Did you drink anything? Did anybody give you anything?' and she said, 'No,'" her mother said, "But my daughter is so smart and she is such a strong independent lady and this has never happened before."

Thank you...of course mom did. We know our children. Mother’s intuition was probably correct. IMO
