This was a despicable murder involving a staged crime scene, driven by pure greed (assuming the accused are guilty). It’s going to be an interesting trial. I can’t imagine what the defense will be for the wife and her boyfriend unless they blame each other.

The sisters of alleged Black Widow murder victim Fabio Sementilli are feeling the impact of COVID-19 both here in Toronto and in Los Angeles.

Due to the pandemic, the murder trial of Sementilli’s alleged killers — former Torontonian Monica Sementili and her boyfriend Robert Baker — will likely be delayed from the original July 7 trial date, Mirella Sementilli, Fabio’s middle sister, said in an interview.

L.A. district attorney Beth Silverman said in an email that she “has no idea at this point but expects” a delay to the start of the estimated two-month long trial.

Surprisingly, California has began opening up jury trials so possibly it might be going ahead.
