So happy with this verdict!

and I think the (non) tears were because she now knows she won't ever see her lover again .. no conjugal visits .. no in person visits to talk through the glass or talking while side by side in a holding cell .. no phone calls. And I have a feeling those letters they send each other will not seem near as fun now. they are getting a little too old for jailin' now lol

Either that, or the (non) tears were for show just in case her family is in the court room or watching it on tv. She had to act completely devastated because she still needs their pity .. and their commissary contributions. She will need a tube of tooth paste at some point. (okay I did not just say that .. but yes, I did)

Funny that when they read the verdict and it said first degree murder, she turned to Lavine and mouthed "what does that mean?"

and watching them put the cuffs on her .. that was so good. I'm sure she has seen trials before where they put you in cuffs as soon as your found guilty. Heck they even cuffed Alex Murdaugh .. did she really think they would let her leave the courtroom without a little humiliation? lol

LOL I guess she'll be horrified to know she has to wear jail garb for her sentencing. No more jackets, blouses or sweaters, orange is the new black, Madonna!

The 10-man, two-woman jury began deliberations in Monica Sementilli's trial on Wednesday, and by Friday morning, the guilty verdict was announced.

Odd the defense allowed 10 men. Did they think the men would be less critical of her?

I was also wondering why so many men were picked. Maybe the defense thought that Men would find her attractive and be manipulated more easily by her 'fake pouting'!

Two women convicted of murder this week and I am positive there were more than that convicted.

@arielilane, who was the other woman convicted of murder this week? And Thank You for covering so many cases.

Funny how no one on the defense team seemed surprised at the verdict, just Monica, who thought Baker would save her murderous self.
No more racquetball for you!!

Hi @Curious Me. This is another case Court TV was broadcasting with guilty verdict reached and may be the case @arielilane referenced.

Thank You, @TwinkieDefense. I'm relieved I didn't get too curious about that one. I am wondering why it took so long if the murder happened in 2007, but I'm not going to let my curiosity exhaust me trying to follow too many cases. Happy I followed this trial with all of you. Sending thanks to the Jurors. OMG, this case is on 20/20 right now!

It was a do over. Previous trial and conviction, then overturned on appeal. Hopefully this one sticks.

She had to look like she was devastated because she wants everyone to think that she didn’t do it. That was a show. She thinks that we couldn’t tell that she is acting.

“How could they find me guilty when I am innocent?! No no no please don’t let them take me! I am innocent, I could have said that I was guilty a long time ago” (Jussie Smollett).
😂

If she ever realizes how stupid she was to involve herself with a gross individual, she will be so angry at herself and Baker.

Yes, I probably saw this or it could've been maybe Dateline or 48 hrs. I always like to watch 20/20 on Friday nights though, and they cover cases thoroughly. This is a good overview now that the trial is over. Everything fits together now better after nine weeks of trial.

A new "20/20" episode, "Sex, Knives, and Videotape", airing Friday, April 11, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC and streaming the next day on Hulu, examines the case.

Right! “Everything fits together now…”. The over hears helped to connect the dots for me.

This is good. So much was muffled in the court room and it made it hard to follow. I need a booklet with audio recordings🤩

This goes down for me as one of the most “What the heck was she thinking” cases I’ve followed. Glad Fabio received justice.

The Sementilli sisters really defended their brother and continued to keep his memory alive. Their press conference afterwards was so sad. Saying they would gladly take their family name back from Monica since she clearly didn’t want it. Loved that.

The daughters are victims too and I can’t blame them for sticking by their mom right now. It’s a lot to process. Monica obviously didn’t help them after this happened and who knows if they’ve recovered or received counseling. I hope they can someday go back to the Sementilli family where they will be lovingly welcomed.

Fabio was part of a lovely and remarkable family. Monica not only destroyed Fabio's life and for that alone she deserves to rot in prison, but she took him from his wonderful loving family: they will never be the same. I thought the Dateline program about this case was well done and showed how arrogant and stupid she was to think she could get away with what she and that garbage bucket did. I mean she actually has the killer come to the funeral- Sociopaths do that kind of stuff because they are so clueless as to how others perceive them. So glad she was found guilty.
