I looked at some video and it is clear that the vehicle Sal and Ilona were murdered in was very near the entrance of the Macy's. Near the blue curbed disabled parking (not in it) and next to the bushes that end-cap the parking rows. So it is possible some cameras may have captured video.

On another note, I still wonder how Gianni's vehicle was able to get past the Temecula DHS Border Patrol & CHP station.... unless the car went through the station before the news broke with the APB.

I had a feeling once Gianni was found, they would start digging into the business relationships.

I think (hope) they've been digging before now.

So sad for the Belvedere family, may God be with them.

This is such a crazy case. So many unanswered questions. Hope LE finds who did this.

In one of the pictures that CuriousMe just reposted, the one focused on the ground... Does anyone else see a knife there? I know there's no evidence marker but I see a splotch of blood and then a black handle with a short silver or white top. On the black handle there seems to be two round circles on it. All my kitchen knives have these, so it appears to be a knife to me but wanted other opinions.

A few other observations. I really doubt the police moved the cars before the pictures were taken which leads me to believe the damage on the silver car was likely done as the car was speeding away past Sal's car. I presume it was Gianni's car. It appears to be black or dark colored rub off.

From looking at the scene I'm thinking this is likely what went down. I'm thinking that Sal had to know the assailant. I think he rolled down his window for whoever it was to likely have some type of conversation. I dont think Sal was shot at through the driver side window. I almost wonder if it wasnt intentional that he got hit in the process.

After that I'm guessing the car drove around to the other side (passenger, Ilona's) and then shot at her through their own open car window. Which leads me to believe the shooter was in the passenger seat of their car. I think the accident occurred while trying to shoot and flea all at the same time. I think that if people didnt hear the impact of the cars that it is very likely they also didnt hear gun shots, even if no silencer was used. Metal on metal is pretty loud even if it was minor. It may have even muffled some of the sound if it happened at the same time as the gunshots.

I dont think the gun shots took place while the assailant was outside of there car or standing near the window. There are 3 gun shot holes in the passenger window of small caliber. One of them is wedged in the corner of the window where the door lock would be. If the assailant was right next to the car it would be a very odd spot to place a gun. I also think it needed to be a few feet away because if it was the point blank we would see blood on the window (sorry). Since there wasnt any blood it goes back to the theory either a silencer was used to direct a very close range bullet or the person was further away. Also the bullets are all positioned to hit the passenger which I presume was Ilona. I think maybe the third bullet accidentally hit Sal in the head.

All of this leads me to another possibility. Maybe the assilant was with Gianni and wanted some type of information from him. He takes Gianni's phone and finds out where Sal and Ilona are. He holds Gianni hostage and threatens to shoot if he doesnt talk. Maybe Gianni didnt really know this info or the person was trying to prove a point and shot them in front of him. Even if Gianni did give up the info it is likely that the person still felt compelled to shoot them out of fear of being caught.

I think eventually the person killed Gianni once he was no longer useful and stuffed him in the trunk.

All JMO. Is it me or does every scenario seem far fetched? I know they say the most obvious conclusion is usually the correct one but in this instance I can't decide what makes most sense here. What is the simplest answer?

IDK about driving and shooting. That is too Hollywood. An untrained person can barely hit their target at close range. The shooter managed to shot them both in the torso and head. Accomplishing that from a moving car would require sniper or SEAL like training. Many people see people shooting a gun with one hand in the movies... that's is not how you hit your target.

I used to own and fire a 9 mm Beretta. It kicks up, and you need two hands to really steady the gun and hit your target. As a passenger you would have no footing or way to steady the weapon. Someone ambushed them and shot them at close range and then got into a car and left the scene. That is why what the LE has released and what was heard on 911 recordings suggested a 5'9" suspect wearing tan pants.

Thanks for your input Izzy. I have to apologize/share that my posts may not always make total sense. I try to proof them and correct my posts. I have to share that I have parkinson's disease so I may not catch my mistakes. I am following the McStay case and this case, as I live in San Diego and these are local cases.

I know that these are both difficult cases and I feel they both involved people close to the crime. I feel these are the hardest for investigators to solve.

I want to thank everyone who are following these cases and hopefully will help each other deal with the concern we have. At the end of the day, I don't want to shame anyone, I want the truth to come out and the perp to be punished.

We share here because we all know that unsolved crimes like these touch us, because we or our family and friends could be *these people* We share this so we can try to make sense of something that is nonsensical.

When I set this account up, my user name was suppose to be SandyEggo. But with things the way they are with me, I was lucky to get this name. Typing is a chore and proofreading even more difficult. It takes me 20 to 30 minutes to make a post like this and copy and paste it. Just to let those of you who keep posting your opinion of what kind of content should be posted here, consider yourselves fortunate to do so , so fast to people you don;t know what are facing every day.

Hugs to you Sandyggo. My aunt had Parkinson's Disease. Thank your for taking the time and effort to post with us at WS about people you care about that you've never even met.

I never realized how close it was to the Macy's door. How did people in Macy's not see or hear anything?? It seems to me like there should have easily been a few witnesses.

To respond to the above post: when I say drive and shoot, I mean in the car and then speed off. Maybe rolling stop? I'm sure it has to be possible since there's so many drivebys that happen even in motion. What do you think? Do you think the shots are too close together for motion? That argument I think I can get on board with. The gun being too powerful I cannot.

I think it's almost certain the shooter was standing on foot outside of a vehicle since one of the only descriptions we have is his pants.

KGTV led with the story again - and several minutes worth.

Promo-ing that "next" (5:30 or 6 - forget when they break for national and then local and am being lazy and not looking! Ha) something about how the "ominous facebook post" "may come into play."

Assuming that's the one that LB (I think it was?) had posted awhile back about planning his/your funeral to one of the brothers.

I know it had been posted about earlier in the thread, possibly w/ a SC (or maybe one of the news sources had it w/ the SC) - but it's been removed since the day or two after Sal and Ilona were killed.

It had been dismissed by most everyone as a joke, though had raised eyebrows among those who saw it and media.

I'd think it'd have been looked into earlier, so am curious why it's apparently resurfacing as news now...? (I think it had been on Sal's page, not Gianni's, right? In which case it would seem like Gianni being found wouldn't have changed anything about that 'find')

I'm inclined to agree but at the same time no one witnessed the actual incident. So if someone saw someone in tan pants running it could have been someone who wasnt involved, or someone who was nearby and ran off in case the perp saw them.

That bullet hole near the door lock just seems so odd if the person was standing right at the window.

Could you please update us with what is said on such news cast? Usually takes a bit to make it to online print. Curious to hear about it. I can't imagine how the FB post has anything to do with it so I'm intrigued. It seems to me a person wouldn't be so brazen to actually legitimately threaten someone on FB and then murder them.

Very good points, Sandy......and I might add that a "silencer" on the gun may have been used which could be why those in the area didn't hear anything.

It sounds like a seasoned pro did this to me (but what do I know)??

If the person was on foot versus them being in a car why did they not drive off the second they saw the gun?

This may have already been answered - but I can't recall - are there any cameras in the parking lot or store entrance?
Also- wasn't she being picked up at 11pm- after getting off work?

That's what is curious to me. It also makes me wonder if the shooter was in Gianni's car or with Gianni in his car.

If I set out to kill a particular 3 people, I surely think I could find a simpler and safer way to do it. It doesn't make sense to me that it was planned. Why didn't the killer just go to their house & do it?

Press conference tomorrow 10 am PST. Nothing new added on KGTV news tonight.

Hopefully they have more to share than the GB news.

See you folks tomorrow!

I agree. I have to say, I am shocked. I was leaning toward the murder/suicide scenario just because it seemed to make the most sense to me among a lot of baffling factors.

Now nothing at all makes sense.

Where has GB been all this time? Even assuming he was killed soon after he disappeared, where has the car/corpse been? And why dump it now if it had gone undetected all this time, wherever it was?

Just one of a multitude of questions I have. I hope we get answers.

Also, do San Diegans need to feel uneasy that there's a triple murderer out there who could strike again?

Maybe he or she did. But 2 were not home. Maybe he took Gianni in his car to where they were??
