Suspect was in the mall, yet no photo from him shopping? I know here in Los Angeles, my local mall has cameras set up because of the kiosks everywhere. I assume this mall isn't without kiosks, so I have to ask.... why no photo if they are so sure (and willing identify a POI at a presser)?

Leads me to believe they have someone locked in right now. Just waiting for more evidence or for said person to slip up. Releasing a photo would maybe scare him off.

This is exactly how I pictured the hoodie, I don't know why they said unique since I have seen a few like that this fall/winter as a new style.
I thought I had missed something tuning in to the presser but now I guess I heard it all except hello. I was hoping they would show some video of the perp since I feel like they have some.

They must because the POI was seen twice in the mall 1 hour apart.

I've been looking for pics of a Black and white hoodie coupled with tan pants. Not a common combination, I'm finding. If police have video and don't want to show it, I don't see why they can't at least find similar clothing to what this person wore. Anyone think it's possible the distinctive hoodie was worn deliberately, because the person would become almost unrecognisable once they took it off?

I'm also thinking that LE knows exactly what makes these white bands "unique," and are using as a technique to fetter out legit tips via their description.

LE admitted to having more surveillance photos of Michelle Parker's Hummer on different roads which they did not release until (?2?) years later for that very purpose (sightings of her hummer to follow up on).

I tossed that around in my head too, Zweib. My first thought was this person came from working somewhere like Target or UPS driver or something because of the tennis shoes (I didn't include that up above, but yes all white tennis shoes). I then thought maybe a friend/family Christmas party, but khakis with tennis shoes? Doubtful. So, my bet is it was someone who had not changed after work. I mean if you are trying to kill 3 people in the middle of the night and had time to plan, wouldn't you opt for darker pants like jeans and dark shoes?

"Police are searching for a man about 5-feet-10 to 6 feet tall, and who was last seen at Westfield Mission Valley mall late Dec. 23 and early Dec. 24. He wearing a black hoodie with white bands across the biceps area of the sleeves, tan pants and white tennis shoes."

Homicide Lt. Mike Hastings said the man, of unknown race, wearing a black hoodie with distinctive white stripes around the upper sleeves, had been seen at Westfield Mission Valley Mall about 11:15 p.m. on Dec. 23 and again about 12:15 a.m. on Dec. 24.

The man, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, also wore tan pants and white tennis shoes. Police previously described him as appearing to be in his 20s and that he may have driven off in a 2008 to 2011 dark gray Honda sedan.

At a media conference in front of San Diego police headquarters Friday, Hastings called this man a person of interest in the shooting deaths of Salvatore Belvedere and Ilona Flint, both 22, about 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 24.

I listened to the presser and he definitely said "unique" white bands on the biceps area of the hoodie. He used those 2 very specific words, unique and biceps.

New Suspect Description in Christmas Eve Mall Shootings
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/loc...lice-Briefing-Belvedere-Ilona--241839911.html

"Investigators released a new suspect description in a triple homicide case connected to a shooting outside a San Diego mall on Christmas Eve."

Former FBI special agent weighs in on the case
"According to former FBI special agent Brad Garrett, who is now a law enforcement consultant for ABC News, those responsible for the deaths of the Belvedere brothers and Flint likely have ties to Riverside."

"Bad guys typically drop cars in the proximity of where they hang out because they know it, it's familiar to them," he said. "So is there a connection as far as the shooters are concerned? My guess is the answer is yes."

"Garrett told 10News the way Gianni Belvedere died will be critical to the investigation..."

This new description is not very helpful, is it? As many have commented, the person of interest probably changed his clothes within the last month.

BBM. I really hope this doesn't mean he was tortured. I don't know why but my mind immediately went there.

I know what you mean. Three people got killed. For what? It seems like it'd have to be something really big and important. If they owed money, then killing them wouldn't get them their money. IMO, it does sort of lend itself to sending out a message to others. The former FBI seems to be the only one saying anything towards a possible motive.

We all have felt such sadness over this case, and we have waited for info, but it's been kept so limited. A big WHY kill three young happy looking people and what would the killer get out of it is on my mind a lot. Something intricate is not being revealed yet?

Patience. :sigh:

What may not seem like a lot of money to someone to someone else it could be considered a fortune. I don't think it was a random robbery I was at that mall at around 11 I'll post my receipts when I get home if this person was looking to come up on someone I think I'd be a perfect target I was by myself parked on the side where there was maybe 2 or 3 other cars and I drive a mercedes and carry an obnoxious big designer purse. My dad called me the following day freaking out worried because he knew i was going to the mall that night after i did dinner with himpand I think the reason this is so important to me is in a selfish way I don't want this to happen to me or anyone else for that matter. I didn't see anyone with a weird or unique sweater or with biceps for that matter I would have remembered the biceps (at least I'm honest haha) I've seen a few posts of people wondering how many people were at the mall I'd say no more than 100 at 11pm when I left. I think target was open too when I left. Keep posting the sweater pictures maybe 1 will click as familiar.

99.999999% they have his picture from one of the mall's camera why aren't they showing it. Lets face it he is no longer wearing the same thing - LOL - so what do they want the population to look for!!! Cant arrest everyone between 5-10 and 6 feet tall.

From an earlier poster it seems that at that time very few people were at the mall. You can also tell by the number of cars in the lot and possibly only a handful of stores were still open.

I just hope the cops aren't having egos wanting credit for solving this by not releasing details.

Adidas makes jackets that are black with 3 white stripes around the biceps. Three white stripes is a trademarked logo for Adidas. I haven't found a picture of one that has a hood yet.

Maybe that's what they meant by unique stripes -- brand logo stripes.

BBM: Tan pants scream Target to me. A black hoodie could easily cover a red polo-type shirt. How long was that Target open and how close was it to the mall?
