The guidelines suggest it, but it is not a requirement to have a vehicle listed to send out an AA. Here, the AA is put out on a case by case basis. If they cannot get a description of the car, they put the child's description and the perp's up in order to get it out to the public if they are certain the child is in immediate danger especially if they know the child has been abducted. (This is up to the local LE agency to decide when or if to put out an alert.) While people may not have a vehicle to search for...they can be aware of the descriptions at gas stations, rest stops, or even sitting in the car next to them at traffic lights.
Marc K. is exactly right about them wasting so much time in case after case because LE agencies do not understand that guidelines are not RULES to live by...but should be used on a case by case basis. They are suggested for what is a premium not what should be the minimum of information to go out when a child goes missing. I have been kvetching about this since the AA began! They need to revise the "guidelines" so that agencies across the country understand them and use them appropriately.
is it ok to post this pic?
is it ok to post this pic?
i added the other male in the photo bucket as well....does he look a bit like the other guys?
Since you asked! :blowkiss: Now...all I need is for Marc Klaas to read this.thank you so much for saying this!!!!
my eyes have been opened...now what can I do to help in this?....im in wa state....i havent even looked up our amber info...how do i find that?....
if you can point me....i will work on it....and if there is anything else i can do....let me know....im not good at this stuff....but i do want to see some changes made....the AA is an awesome start...but as time goes by and we learn and it seems that in this day and age things are getting worse for our children....there will need to be adjustments to insure our children stay safe....and in the advent that there is a need....our children deserve...all children deserve the best ....![]()
I think with the horrific shock of being part of the home invasion and to have your child taken in such a way, the mother may not have given a good description so soon afterwards. While LE would want to have the sketches out immediately... without someone uninvolved to come forward as an eyewitness, their hands were tied.On the Local News here they just spoke with LE regarding sketches of the kidnappers. Someone had asked Why they didnt put out the sketches sooner and they said because the parents werent up to it. I can understand their grief, but I would have wanted the sketches out ASAP! LE also said there were Billboards up at the Border Crossings with picture of Little Briant. Hopefully they havent taken him across the border already..

Hmmm..not so sure about that sketch artist. Neither one of those appear Latino to me for some reason. Am I just not seeing it?![]()
The suspects are both said to be skinny, Spanish-speaking Latino men. One is said to be 18 years old, 5-foot-8 and wearing a black ball cap, blue jeans and a green T-shirt. The second suspect was about 24 years old, 5-foot-10 and was wearing a black shirt, black pants, black boots and a white bandana.

It does make me wonder in the middle of the afternoon if there weren't eyewitnesses, but the nature of the crime has them silenced. If they were brutal enough to steal their child then coming forward would put their own families at risk.
Agree that if a neighbor or even a passerby witnessed a small child being carried out in broad daylight could be hesitant to get involved, as they may have not known what was actually occurring. When the news broke about the kidnapping, it could have added even more fear to report anything to authorities.
Just hoping and praying for the safe return of Briant. My heart breaks just thinking about how frightening this must be for him.
Here are my thoughts about this case in which nothing adds up.
-maybe the perps broke into the house thinking someone else lived there. do we know who lived there prior to this family. i think it was reported this family only lived there 2 months.
-the perps were mad they couldn't find the car keys, why didn't they just ask one of the 5 family members tied up to tell them where the car keys were?
-are we sure that Briant is the biological child of the man who was at work? maybe Briant is biologically someone else's child and they came for him
-what are the two kids who weren't at home saying about all of this. possible they are the reason for this or they are somehow responsible for this. odd it happened when the man of the house was out.
-how did the perps get to this house? did they just walk up to it? did they drive? if so, why did they need a car to steal?
someone in the neighborhood had to see something.
