The IP addresses are something that someone desperate for a straw to cling to might use as a ‘reason to believe he wasn’t there.’

I looked up my IP address in Google some years ago, and saw that it said I was on the East Coast, (USA), when in fact I was on the West Coast. That’s why I don’t believe it.

edited to fix typo
So an IP address is an unreliable indicator of location but making a call to a distant area code means you're located within the area code you're calling? <modsnipped unnecessary comment> Of course neither of these are a reliable indicator of location especially if someone is intentionally manipulating the results.

I disagree :)

Google has come a long way in 10-15 years IMO So has the information available online.

2010 is nine years ago. I agree that many things have changed. I don’t think that concept particularly helps the defense.

how do you figure this shows he was in Hawaii? IMO it shows that he dialed an 808 number and received calls from 808 numbers. It also shows he called a 707 and a 949 number, but I doubt that means he flew back to California quickly to make those calls.
I really don't see the relevance of DK's phone location when that would not be the only evidence the investigators have to prove where DK was at a given time. If there was anything that tied him to the murders LE haven't found it, and Merritt isn't singing, all IMO.

And Chase's phone pings put him at the exact spot of the gravesite

I didn’t say anything about area codes as an indication of anything.

Phone pings have been very relevant in other criminal cases before to put a perpetrator of the crime at a certain location at a certain time, and were part of a conviction. Read the case of Heather Elvis.

Merritt's phone pings put him closer than any other person(s). Plus he already said he was visiting his sister but she said he hadn't been to her house in a very long time.

I still haven't read about any reasonable explanation or reason for why Chase Merritt was trying to delete JM's quickbooks accounts if he thought JM was only missing at the time either? Crickets on that one?

Well, this trial is supposed to end in less than a week.
I have not been a faithful follower, due to the lack of media coverage and personal family challenges.
One of the most frustrating things about this trial for me, is the near zero observations about the jurors.
Although, I've been reading the thoughts of the testimonies you all have expressed on this site, I don't have a clue as to what the verdict will be.
Do any of you?
I hope it's guilty.
What do you guys think?

Guilty.

I think this one could go guilty, not guilty, or hung jury. Nothing will shock me in this case, and I definitely wouldn't bet on an outcome. JMO

I think it will end in a mistrial. Either hung jury, or defense attorney too ill to finish, or the judge has a to step down due to family member problem.

IP addresses are variable. Do you have ANY indication DK wasn't in Hawaii? I mean if you call a number for take out then we can assume you were there.

That's not what she said in her testimony.

Is there another option?

At this point, it would be ridiculous if there was a mistrial.

I don't know either way and neither does anyone else. I do know if you were expecting to pull off the perfect murder by calling for takeout in Paris France, then quickly killing your neighbor and then telling the cops it wasn't me, I was in Paris. Well anyone should be able to figure out the rest...

I feel the same way about CM's phone location.
You don't think that cell phone locations that aren't related to work or home is relevant?
