how do we know he didn't sexually assault those children? seems he had a smorgasborg for murder , rape and torture...we can't know all sadly. I would like him to be confronted and prosecuted on every aspect of every crime he committed.

if he did do these things, he will get to keep it in his memories as a secret, and this enrages me.

seriously, he is a psychopath..people...maybe it wasn't completely motivated by quickbooks, and other desires were also at play. He didn't like the children and may have been fantasizing about harming them...not as means to get to the money but as a satisfying
endeavor for his sado/sexual fantasies.

They were All at his mercy and he had no mercy for any of them. He knew he could do anything and everything he wanted to do when it came to degrading them and all 4 were helpless to stop him.

Psychopaths who murder feed off of the power and control they have over other humans. That is why they often torture and rape before they overkill their victims in heinous macabre ways.

I firmly believe he raped Summer right in front of Joey and her children.

I think he could have done the same thing to the little boys.

Hatred and revenge by a psychopath often can result in very inhumane acts being inflicted to the victims.

Trying to catch up on this case. I believe the murders took place somewhere other than the home. Even Inv DuGal testified to that. I'm sure CM could lure them away, especially if JM discovered he was stealing from him and wanted to confront him about it. Just where was CM with his phone off so several hours that night?

Does anyone which courthouse this trial is taking place? Name of it? i know it's San Bernardino County. Thanks!

Again, the more I'm thinking about this the more I think that what happened was that MSM ended up shipping a fountain or fountains out... and they wanted to be paid for that, from Joey. Joey probably paid CM already to do that, basically paying him in advance, so I think we will see this is where Joey "overpaid" CM or CM owed him money. Sequieda said something like they left it up to Joey on how to deal with Chase as far as percentage or whatever after they started doing some of what CM should have been doing.

I really hope they tie this all together quickly though, that testimony on Thursday did nothing but leave the impression that Joey and only Joey was responsible for paying MSM and that they would never have done business with CM, so how could he have owed them money. JMO

I watched JS testify and I nearly died when he said, "Can I speak freely?" OBJECTION, replied the Defence ATTY, lmao.

Okay, I thought you were certain. This needs to be determined because it would fit well with the prosecutions theory of CM gaining access to JM's home computer, considering that JM had discovered CM's fraud and probably changed the account password and would explain JM being bound and possibly torture as if someone was forcing him to reveal information.

I believe we WILL discover that CM accessed JM computer during the computer experts testimony. His brother returned JM computers and I'm positive they were forensically examined. I believe we will hear how CM accessed them from HIS computer/phone etc.

Here is tidbit; According to the SBSO Search Warrant: DK told Detectives that JM was going to FIRE CM for his gambling debts that JM agreed to cover. JM covered a $30,000 gambling debt CM owed in the past. This just makes my heart break for what a great guy JM truly was. Who covers someone's $30,000 gambling debts? Just wow.

Well they're going to have to find a way of discrediting DuGal if they want the jury to think he's not being truthful or didn't bother to check it out.

I saw a video of SDNews station questioning DK and he was in Hawaii for 2-3 weeks with numerous witnesses before the McStay family went missing on the 4th. He was in Hawaii from late January until the middle of February. I hope DuGal substantiated his claim?

I wonder if we will see proof of this as it’s hard to imagine he could afford to do that with such a young family and a new home and I’m positive Summer would never of agreed to Joey doing that.

If he did agree to do that I am amazed as yes it’s generous BUT naive to the extreme as a addict needs help and unless Chase was going to get help then Joey may as well of just burned 30k as obviously even after his death Chase was still gambling money away. Why would Joey not put stipulations on the money that Chase had to stop gambling and I don’t know stop ripping him off?!

Yes Summer being raped is one thing the prosecution and defense agree on.

No doubt Chase saw it as taking revenge on somebody who hated him and thought they was better than him and it was his final act of revenge to show her who was in control.

I think what he hated most about Summer is she saw him for what he was....a career conman! A lowlife criminal who was now stealing from her own husband.

Psychopaths build a life of being deceitful and being able to easily manipulate people into believing how they appear to be is real and not what they really are as they hide behind the mask.

It worked with Joey for awhile but Summer immediately saw who he really was.

The one thing psychopaths hate more than anything is being exposed!!!

They never ever place blame on themselves and see themselves only as victims instead of the victimizers they are.

When his true self was being exposed and his house of fake cards were crashing with even Joey not being able to be manipulated anymore he blamed it all on Summer.

He thought if only Summer had kept her mouth shut he felt he could stop Joey from turning him in.

He never felt Joey had the backbone to do anything about all of his criminal activities but he knew Summer did and he reeked with rage and raw hatred.

Once they feel they have been exposed they will go to any lengths seeking revenge.

Once he had them all there defenseless and helpless everything he did was to cause Summer unimaginable pain and suffering whether it was emotional torture he put Summer through or the physical torture she was made to watch being done to her little boys and her husband. Or the physical torture he made her endure.

Imo he did rape her probably repeatedly and God only knows what else he did to the little boys as she was made to watch.

He was going to show Summer and Joey what happens when someone dares to take Charles Merritt down. Imo

He had no limits or boundaries on what he did to this family.

If he knew it would cause great emotional pain for Summer and even Joey ...he did it.

CM has to be a psychopath to have the capabilty to crush the skulls of two small little boys with a sledgehammer. There is no other explanation for it. The way in which he chose to murder them is one of the most revealing aspects in this case.

He is the epitome of true evil and he will never have one ounce of remorse....not then...not now..not ever.

Yeah , OBE, this is why I hate the thought of him having his private secrets about his crime. In his mind he gets away with this and that and they cant put it on him.

it infuriates me that he can own their fates this way and hold their last moments in his secrets.

I don't want Chase Merritt to have anything at their expense. I want him stripped bare for all to see.

IIRC DuGal said he only saw an online booking form or something like that. No boarding pass, not anything else.

The Defense in their opening statement said that DK said he stayed with his landlord during that time, apparently the landlord said it didn't happen.
