The obvious conclusion would be to hamper the identification of the remains. Perhaps, he felt the graves were too shallow and the remains would be found before the flesh decomposed to a degree that prevented ID from fingerprints.

Surely if you go that route then you take the Teeth?

I just watched a tv series called “you” and they took out all the teeth to I assume to make identification harder.

I just watched a tv series called “you” and they took out all the teeth to I assume to make identification harder.

With fingerprints it’s possible to access the FBI database and immediately have a match even if you have no idea who the person is. With dental ID this is not possible.

I don't find CM that knowledgeable and up to date in the measures murderers take now trying to conceal the identity of the victims.

I think he's an old school criminal and the mafia used to remove the hands to prevent identity knowing fingerprints couldnt be lifted.

No towel's in the bathrooms. The mat missing in the downstairs bathroom. Showing a photo of something found in one of the graves, looks the same as the toilet cover, and a towel with a sunflower pattern.

That’s also done here, if the investigator has some sort of clue as to who the person may have been and then compare their dental records, if available.

#McStay - Fmr. San Bernardino Detective Joseph Steers on the stand. He executed a search warrant on the Fallbrook home. He said he was looking for items that could match the pieces of fabric found in the grave.

Yes all the hands were missing.

Now that IS strange if all four victims had no hands.

If one didnt I wouldn't find that significant but all four being found without hands is chilling.

Thinking about the testimony about the bathroom and the theory that Summer was sitting when she was killed.....I wonder if he subdued them, tied them up, brought them one at a time into the bathroom. Sat each victim in the tub and murdered them, one at a time there. Clean up with bleach and repaint.
