I have a question? Law and Crime is confusing to me. How does one find today's testimony after the fact? Not live. That I can do. Website is confusing to me.

I go to you tube and search law and crime network. It’s usually put on there later

IMO, they have a tendency to leave loose ends, why call this witness and then not followup with evidence establishing it was CM who received the money? Doing so, especially, with it being so early in the trial is going to alienate the jury. else I hope the evidence they have verifying the lunch meeting is something more convincing than the booking reservation, to support the claim DK made about being in Hawaii.

I'm hoping to get other's perspective of this testimony. Right now I'm not impressed. I'm sitting here kinda shaking my head thinking the pro's just proved that CM got fountains completed (sure, not installed) and given to a customer after the McStay's went missing. And if he was doing all the work, why shouldn't he have been paid for that?

*SIGHHHHHHHH*

I don't know, maybe there is something I was missing with that testimony, but the prosecution could have shown the witness a bank statement or something to help recollect that Geis sent the 2nd $6250 payment, and they didn't. They better hope that the defense doesn't have a $6250 payment going to DK/MM/SB unless they can show that $6250 was then sent to CM.

In their opening statement didn’t the defense claim they brought in a forensic accountant to review the financials, something the prosecution hadn’t done?

Right, if CM gets off he can hire the prosecution as a PR committee to help reestablish his good name. LOL

Yes. From opening statements:

We next knew that this was a financial case, so we contacted Denis Shogren, who is a forensic accountant. He has been an accountant for 20 years, his primary purpose is he's a forensic accountant in trusts and wills, he likes to see where money goes, where it's spent. And it's funny, we really needed him because this is a financial case but the government never wrote (?) for an accountant to tell them where the money went. You are going to learn about that. Our expert gave them a report, they hired one now. I guess we will see where that goes.

What a mess
I think the prosecution is hamstrung by not having anyone to attest to the financial arrangements he had with Chase.

All they can do is do their best to show he was taking money from people after Joey's murder and not delivering the goods (Geis) or repaying (Susan Blake), meanwhile he was spending in the casinos. Paying money to Cathy Jarvis shows he was in trouble financially. The emails to Chase and Metro also build the picture. At least I think there was one to Metro.

BBM - But Geis did get the fountains. Granted, he didn't go and install them like I think he normally did, but we don't know the circumstances of that right now. I think this was around the time the Saudi job was being done too? Maybe he wasn't available? Maybe he couldn't get there when they needed him to be? I wish they would have asked him what Merritt told them (although I am not sure that witness would have been the one talking to him)

Where is @Force Ten? He seems to know these dates so much better lol

Unless, the prosecution starts doing a better job of lawyering, they're going to lose what should be a slam dunk case.

i am not watching this trial, but reading the great posts here to keep up-- i hate
when a prosecution team blows what should be a slam dunk- in that regard the proecution in the Trayvon Martin case comes to mind-- they were shockingly awful-- i hope that is
not the case here

cathy russon retweeted Linda Kenney Baden (in case anyone doesn't know fx = fracture)

1/4 Let's understand why this testimony being put in this way for M.E. #mcStay. They are trying to pave way to say murders took place in house but there is no blood. But read any forensic textbook. It takes weeks B4 bone fx heals so you can see on the bone or on X-ray.

2/4 If there is hit on head eg w/ baseball bat-some1 dies ASAP, u don't see bone healing. That doesn't mean you can't say is before death.4 soft tissue vs bone u can C some healing bc the red blood cells coming to those areas but not the timing e.g. 2 hours before or 2 hour after

3/4 Terms anti peri & post all defined the same way in death investigations by MEs. Peri really is bc you cant tell if just befere or just after. I would cross hard here , show sadistic killers, need 2 people.

4/4 I don't know who is guilty yet, or if this is proven, but cant leave this as is if defense. Q is is that a before death fx or an after death artifact on a victim.

Artifact is not common sense here.Bodies aren't buried under rocks, care in removing bones not an earth mover, all 4 bodies have fx. Sledge hammer buried w the bodies. Pros wants to argue maybe only 1 body had skin broken in sledge hammer attack so lil' or no blood house. #mcStay

i noticed something interesting regarding the keys found in the grave. One had a heart-shaped key chain, but did not have any keys attached to it. I found what appears to be the exact key chain in one of the videos uploaded to youtube by Joey of Jonah playing piano - far right of frame. It appears to be Summer's set of keys and it looks like it had a trooper key attached to it in the video. The shape of the key is not consistent with a 99 dodge ram key. Here is a link to the youtube video:

They painted the picture - he didn't fulfill the contract despite receiving about $11700 and they still had to go and seize the goods at additional expense and do their own installation and assembly. If we factor in that this was Joey's company's money Chase should probably only have been paid his labour and materials/expenses, but I'm only guessing Joey wouldn't have given him 100% on that sale.

cathyrusson: Prosecution trying to show that you can get hit with a sledgehammer and not break the skin
cathyrusson: There's no evidence of clean up, that's the problem. House still in disarray, dust on counter tops, etc...

I don't know if they can convince many of that ... I just saw the photo of Summers skull in too many pieces to count. How could there be no blood? even the blows to her jaw/face... wouldn't you expect her mouth to bleed? teeth being knocked out? ugggh

  • #497
That pic of JM Sr with his skull and mouth wide open is absolutely terrifying to look at.

Early break of 10 mins somebody not well. So back less than 30 mins and now a forced break.

  • #499
I can't look at some of these photo's :(

There is going to be debate over whether there should have been blood or not in the home. The prosecution is trying to show there wasn't blood... the defense is going to say there should have been a ton...

I wonder if either side tested the 'hair' for any side of blood.

uh oh, a juror not feeling good (maybe from photo's?)

#McStay - Prosecutor's questioning of the medical examiner centers around the possibility someone could be hit with a sledgehammer, fracture bones, and yet the skin not broken - (no blood)
