Starting to tie together items in the grave to the home. Couldn't understand the part about the backpack. Someone else catch it? (regarding Susan Blake)

Showing photo's from the gravesite with the towel with the face on it ... showing a photo of one of the boys wrapped in a towel consistent with that towel.

#McStay - Steers said they found photos of the McStay family at the house. Jurors are shown this pic of baby towel/blanket. Steers compares the pieces of fabric found in grave

This officer went into the home in 2014. They painted the front door, they replaced the floor on main floor, painted the bathroom.

They told him they did not repaint anything else in the home.

Took a samples of the paint... uggh had to reload again!

ETA: they also replaced the baseboards. Carpet was removed from the main floor, but not the upstairs.

No towel's in the bathrooms. The mat missing in the downstairs bathroom. Showing a photo of something found in one of the graves, looks the same as the toilet cover, and a towel with a sunflower pattern.

Thanks. More compelling evidence they were murdered inside of their home.

Prosecution on a roll. :) Did they find anything in 2014?

Showing the blue painters tape around the doors in the house... showing the blue painters tape in the grave site.
I can see how this explains that they were abducted from the house and not tricked into meeting somewhere else, however, as far as where they were actually killed, I don’t think it’s of any value.

they took samples from the family room and the entrance way into the kitchen, they went back and got samples from the island in the kitchen (I think... even on rewind I am having troubles with it loading)

Don't you think the jurors want to know where they were killed?

I am glad I am not alone in thinking this. All this proves is the family was at home that night it still does not prove the family was murdered here.

imo

I really do not think that they found any sign of blood/dna in the house. The samples taken seem to be to see if they matched the bra/handle samples.

Thinking about the testimony about the bathroom and the theory that Summer was sitting when she was killed.....I wonder if he subdued them, tied them up, brought them one at a time into the bathroom. Sat each victim in the tub and murdered them, one at a time there. Clean up with bleach and repaint.
That would help explain the lack of blood evidence found.
If that’s the case it certainly is methodical and calculating for a first time killer.

Yes if the Mexico passport thing on the Mcstays computer was Chase which we will never know unfortunately then he could of been planning this awhile. But looking at his criminal history it’s odd how it spans decades but he was never violent.

I know I'm late in responding here, but I wish to comment because I think we get mired down a bit in some things, wanting "all the pieces to fit". This is one of two, maybe several comments recently, about how Chase had never been violent, and so, "why now?" Well, we don't know that he'd never been violent toward people before, although he's never been arrested, apparently, for such. However, when something happens, anything, there's always a first time.

Also, we DO KNOW, that Chase has been violent and abusive to animals, and there is a strong connection (both by data and by common sense) that there is a link between animal abuse and violence against people.

All of this consideration of these things, though, really is a bit confusing to me. Yes, it's nice to know "all the details", and consider all the pieces, but as for the actual guilt/non guilt, I just don't see it being very relevant. Chase, whether previously violent or not, obviously murdered the family. I can't imagine a more obvious case. There's a pattern here, and it all leads to Chase, an obviously "not good guy", scamming Joey. Joey finds out and the family is found, murdered just afterward. Chase's gravy train had come to an end, and the bodies were found... where? Out in the desert, close to Chase's....house. Or old house. Anyway, not far from Chase's stamping grounds. Incidentally, Chase is an expert at digging holes. Also incidentally, a guy who Chase spent some time mining with vamoosed out of that desert ASAP and called the police to report him, because he gave him such a creepy, guilty vibe when he BROUGHT UP THAT ME MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A SUSPECT IN THE MCSTAY MURDERS. Alas, the tire tracks at the gravesite are consistent with, surprisingly....CM's truck. CM was the last person to see them (and he knew it!), etc., etc., etc.

CM is guilty, whether or not there is blood spatter in the home, whether or not he threw some incriminating things in a kid's backpack and threw it in the hole with the bodies, whether or not he'd ever been arrested for murder before, etc. There is no other explanation for the bashed up bodies, and the main body of evidence points to CM.

I don't mean to dismiss the discussion of all the possibilities about backpacks, and previous violence, I just hope the jury doesn't get caught up in them. There are many, many possibilities regarding many of the details that we'll never know, this being life and life is messy and all.

Now that IS strange if all four victims had no hands.

If one didnt I wouldn't find that significant but all four being found without hands is chilling.

Were all 8 hands missing? Tia
All I can say is every time I've heard him ask if the hands were found the answer has been no, I can't say if I've heard him specifically asking about all the victims. I've never heard an answer yes when he asks if the hands were found.

As long as it doesn't come up that the family was in there cleaning... did they remove the towels and put them in laundry? He didn't say there were no towels anywhere, just not in the bathrooms. Did anyone look in the washer or dryer?

With fingerprints it’s possible to access the FBI database and immediately have a match even if you have no idea who the person is. With dental ID this is not possible.

I find it so fascinating on how advance we've come in identifying victims.

Even if they find severely mummified bodies now they can rehydrate the fingers and get a clear set of fingerprints.

Yes, but I starting to think that the where were they killed question may never be answered.

Who is asking? the defense? If I have time later, I'm going to go back and see if I can find it. I do recall some questions about hands, but I'm not sure it was in regards to all of them?
