Also, we DO KNOW, that Chase has been violent and abusive to animals, and there is a strong connection (both by data and by common sense) that there is a link between animal abuse and violence against people.

Has he?

I have never heard this mentioned before and he didn’t kill the puppy and the other dog and he certainly had days to do so if he had desired to do so.

Haven't had live-stream for 10-15 minutes of so. It's not usual break time. Anyone know what's going on now?

I truly believe the paint found on Summer's bra and on the sledgehammer very well could be the smoking gun in this case as to the murder location. I see clearly why the state believes the murder scene was at the McStay home.

Paint can only get on something when its wet. There is no other possible location this specific wet paint would be found in.

It links the home as the location where they were murdered. Imo no other location but their home would have this same wet paint.

The state will probably have a paint expert that will testify the paint found in the grave is consistent in color and brand Summer had been using. I'm sure they have contacted the store where she purchased the paint she was using.

I have done a lot of painting over many years because I change the wall colors throughout our home about every 3 years. it's very common for the paint store to keep in their computer records what color, amount, and brand bought, including the type of paint bought such as acrylic latex interior paint in flat matte or semi gloss etc.

They keep this information in their system in case the customer has to come back to buy more paint. Then the store rep can quickly look up what brand and color they need to mix up. Some customers may forget exactly what they purchased but needs more for touch up areas or didnt buy enough paint at the time to complete their paint project.

Imo the wet paint Summer was using inside of her home at the very same time this all happened is the most compelling evidence showing they were murdered inside of that very home.

I'm sure some of the jurors have already notated the significance of this as well.

Imo

I'm not convinced about the paint, unless they can prove she only painted in that bra on the day she was murdered or there is some other evidence, because I wear the same clothes for days at a time, painting clothes...for painting. I dont know, it would be better if it were also on her skin or something...maybe I just dont get it??? mOO

#McStay - Photo in family's camera shows Joseph Jr. holding a paintbrush, it appears to be same paintbrush found in grave w/backpack.

I honestly don't find the paint on the bra is that significant, she had been painting for days. I also have "painting" clothes. Wanna know where I get the most paint on my painting shirts? The boob area lol Forever hitting walls or whatever with the dang things! In the photo's that I have looked at, it didn't look like a drip either... so will have to wait and see I guess. I have also had to get in odd positions to paint something properly and I think she was working on the island around the 4th (due to the drawers being out)

The sledgehammer... it's more significant only because if the paint matches, it shows it came from the home. The paint could have got on there at anytime though, but it does tie to the home.

No I share your opinion on this as they had been painting for weeks so that paint could of gotten on there at any time. It’s not like the paint mark has a time stamp of the 4th February 2010.

The dang foil in the paint tray again ... lol

Implying the officer was not truthful in his search warrant.

I know I'm late in responding here, but I wish to comment because I think we get mired down a bit in some things, wanting "all the pieces to fit". This is one of two, maybe several comments recently, about how Chase had never been violent, and so, "why now?" Well, we don't know that he'd never been violent toward people before, although he's never been arrested, apparently, for such. However, when something happens, anything, there's always a first time.

Also, we DO KNOW, that Chase has been violent and abusive to animals, and there is a strong connection (both by data and by common sense) that there is a link between animal abuse and violence against people.

All of this consideration of these things, though, really is a bit confusing to me. Yes, it's nice to know "all the details", and consider all the pieces, but as for the actual guilt/non guilt, I just don't see it being very relevant. Chase, whether previously violent or not, obviously murdered the family. I can't imagine a more obvious case. There's a pattern here, and it all leads to Chase, an obviously "not good guy", scamming Joey. Joey finds out and the family is found, murdered just afterward. Chase's gravy train had come to an end, and the bodies were found... where? Out in the desert, close to Chase's....house. Or old house. Anyway, not far from Chase's stamping grounds. Incidentally, Chase is an expert at digging holes. Also incidentally, a guy who Chase spent some time mining with vamoosed out of that desert ASAP and called the police to report him, because he gave him such a creepy, guilty vibe when he BROUGHT UP THAT ME MIGHT BE CONSIDERED A SUSPECT IN THE MCSTAY MURDERS. Alas, the tire tracks at the gravesite are consistent with, surprisingly....CM's truck. CM was the last person to see them (and he knew it!), etc., etc., etc.

CM is guilty, whether or not there is blood spatter in the home, whether or not he threw some incriminating things in a kid's backpack and threw it in the hole with the bodies, whether or not he'd ever been arrested for murder before, etc. There is no other explanation for the bashed up bodies, and the main body of evidence points to CM.

I don't mean to dismiss the discussion of all the possibilities about backpacks, and previous violence, I just hope the jury doesn't get caught up in them. There are many, many possibilities regarding many of the details that we'll never know, this being life and life is messy and all.[/QUOTE/]

ITA! Friday. This is one of the best post I've read lately.

Even if he has no known violent past really means nothing.

Many brutal murders have been carried out and the suspects had no criminal history whatsoever...not even a parking ticket.

With CM he carries out criminal acts willfully victimizing his targets/victims.

It's very common for someone with felonies in their past to elevate their crimes to homicide.

Many murderers like CM were known as conmen and frauds including doing robberies.

It's no different than a predator starting off as a peeping Tom then advancing to brutal rapes and going on to rape and then murder their victims. Etc.

I think CM has done very bad things throughout his life but just wasnt caught.

They say a pedophile will have over a hundred victims before they are finally caught.

I don't believe for one second he didnt do more crimes between the last time he got out of prison until he murdered this entire family.

Oh, Asyousay, this is the hardest thing about this case! I know we're not supposed to talk about things that we can't link, but this was discussed much over the years here and I have no idea how to go about finding those discussions from what must be thousands of posts. However, I think there were several statements made from acquaintances of CM about his character that were indicative of an explosive/violent nature, including the torture of a cat. I'm sorry if I shouldn't bring this up, but I remember the discussions clearly, I just can't go find them.

McGee pointing out that in the officers affidavit that he stated that in his experience with blunt force trauma like what happened, it would create a large amount of blood. Objected... then they are allowed to ask him about it... he now says it's "possible". Now asking about his affidavit.
