#McStay - Steer says he has a personal opinion on what may have happened to the family.
Defense atty McGee: That's based on a lot of variables?
Steer: Yes

She received possible paint transfer on clothing, and possible paint on sledgehammer. Then control samples from paint from walls.

All 4 items she received were paint.

This paint expert person is putting me to sleep...

Ok, I get that they have to testify about how they found what they found... but get to it LOL did it match or not?

And now we are on lunch!

So, what does everyone think of this mornings testimony?

What was the point of that woman that worked with Chase testifying?

Am I missing something here as if the sledgehammer belongs to the Mcstays then the house was in the middle of being renovated so what does paint prove on the sledgehammer and Summers bra?

To me all it’s saying is what we know that the house was in the middle of being renovated and paint has gotten over stuff. I’m not seeing how this points to anything bar the obvious?!

Where they looked:
A stain by the master bathroom... staircase... door frame by the bathroom, an area that came back as positive for blood... kitchen by the wall by the office, another positive, took sample... swab of the wall by the stairs ...

The detective said in his affidavit that there appeared to be a missing robe in the home. McGee asking, did he know if there were normally 2 robes in the house? he says "no"

Is there any evidence from in that house that shows you that the crime happened in that house... he says No, but he believes it did.

*We now know, they have zero evidence from the house, no blood, etc.

ETA: It's JMO that they have no evidence from the house, that's my interpretation of what he said. Also, I think the fact that the State didn't ask about these things, is telling. Again IMO

This information seems inconsistent to me.

it's like watching paint dry...

:D

See I need visuals. I'm a very visual person. Plus I have problems understanding speech. I would die on this Jury.

That he was ripping off Joey back in 2007. Using Joey's pumps in his fountains and claiming a fountain was finished to get a payment from Joey to meet his financial obligations when it wasn't finished. She told Joey about this at the time.

McGee sounds like a dick. Sorry. I hate his tone. I hate that sing-songy variation to his
questions.

What I got from that was that they took samples, swabs, etc. from various places in the home, in 2014. At the end of his testimony, McGee asked him if the EVIDENCE actually showed this was a crime scene, he said no. He thinks it did, but there is actually no evidence it did.

Keep in mind that the detective has the benefit of knowing what the results of anything that they tested was, we might not yet, but he does.

And Joey continued to do business with him for 3 years afterwards, even knowing that?

You can see bones from Joey's right hand. The question was asked if a "complete" set of hands was found and the answer was no.

I like McGee. I don't usually like defense attorney's lol But I do like him, I bet he was a good prosecutor when he was one. I don't care for Maline though.
