This information seems inconsistent to me.
That’s because it is inconsistent. Missy, mentioned earlier she was having difficulty with hearing the testimony, I think they need to upgrade the microphones.

Okay wait... what part is inconsistent? the testing positive part? I may not have explained it well, trying to type it quickly, assuming that most of us are listening, but not everyone can (some people have to work hahaha) ... the things that tested positive were presumptive testing... it doesn't actually mean that after they took those samples to the lab that they actually were blood.

All I know is that the detective definitely said that there is no evidence that a crime took place in that home.

ETA: The volume and sound for this trial is AWFUL!!!!!

Am I missing something here as if the sledgehammer belongs to the Mcstays then the house was in the middle of being renovated so what does paint prove on the sledgehammer and Summers bra?

To me all it’s saying is what we know that the house was in the middle of being renovated and paint has gotten over stuff. I’m not seeing how this points to anything bar the obvious?!
It's the murder weapon so it assumes much more relevance that there is paint on it and paint where you would not expect to find it on Summer's bra.

A circumstantial case doesn't require jurors to think of every single possibility of how paint came to be on both items, it's what seems to be most likely given that she was wearing a bra dripping in paint, and murdered in it, and there is paint on the murder weapon.

Taking a murder weapon from the house to use later is also not the most likely of scenarios, if someone came to abduct them they would likely bring a weapon. The paint on the bra would likely have been dry by the time she was transported to the desert. Chase knew what tools were in the house because he had been there numerous times and done work for them on the decking. He didn't need to take his own hammer.

MOO

Thank you for all the hard work on typing as you go along. I was in the middle of making dinner so I missed a ton of stuff.

So lack of blood and now the detective saying no evidence of a crime scene. Doesn’t exactly sound that promising for the prosecution does it?

Well, some had an idea of the McStays packing their children in their car, going out for a bite to eat or something, and running into trouble away from home, perhaps from a stranger. That looks improbable, once you tie all these objects back to the house.

So, once you’ve narrowed the choices down to: ‘kidnapped from the house and then killed’ or ‘killed in the house and then removed from the house’—I don’t think those two choices matter, when you’re trying to decide who did it.

No problem! I know when I'm at work, I'm looking to see what his going on LOL The tweets have been good, but not great, probably because it's being streamed, so it's easy to watch and not rely on the tweets. But not everyone can be there. This is some testimony that we were waiting for. We were waiting to see what they did in the house, what the evidence that they took told them, etc.

I have to go out for a bit later so won't be here for the beginning of testimony after lunch... at the rate she was going, she will still be talking about how she looked at the paint when I get back LOL so you all take good notes for me ;-)

I honestly don't find the paint on the bra is that significant, she had been painting for days. I also have "painting" clothes. Wanna know where I get the most paint on my painting shirts? The boob area lol Forever hitting walls or whatever with the dang things! In the photo's that I have looked at, it didn't look like a drip either... so will have to wait and see I guess. I have also had to get in odd positions to paint something properly and I think she was working on the island around the 4th (due to the drawers being out)

The sledgehammer... it's more significant only because if the paint matches, it shows it came from the home. The paint could have got on there at anytime though, but it does tie to the home.
the amount of paint is what was significant. it wasn't the kind of paint drip or splatter you would expect to get on you while painting. it was enough paint that it looked like the entire cup of the bra was covered in a thick layer. like she was laying in a tray of paint and then rolled over onto her side, causing it to drip down towards the center of the bra.

Okay, thank you for clarifying, that explains it.

I think it will come down to timelines. Phones being on or off, timing of the QB's cheque that night 7:59/8:05pm, the video of a vehicle leaving at 7:47pm.

I'm having a hard time putting that together.
Chases phone pings at 5:48 (I believe near home?)
Someone leaves at 7:47pm
Someone makes a cheque at 7:59
Then delete's at 8:05.
Chase's phone is back pinging at 9:32 Mira Loma or RC. (I've seen both in timelines)

Ok, I get that they have to testify about how they found what they found... but get to it LOL did it match or not?
I'm listening to the end of her testimony before lunch and she has answered some of this -
Q: At some point were you able to eliminate items 3 and 4 from items 1 and 2?
A: Yes I was.

So I think this means the paint they took from the kitchen and living room walls was not matched to the paint on the bra and hammer.

Someone leaves or just moves a car??

Well, I guess they could have just moved the vehicle, but it's seen on the video driving away.

Yes, I also caught in the detective's testimony that I think he went back a month later and got samples from the island. So maybe they submitted that later and we will hear about it.

I'm actually listening to the detectives cross exam again, in the live feed, you can rewind. It wouldn't take me all the way back though.
