Who accused him of DV? Has Jarvis since they have been split? Not saying it's not true, I could see it, but soooo many things not verified and not true in this case, I don't know what to believe/not believe anymore, at least until I see it in evidence ;-) Which I don't think we would hear about DV in the trial.

I have been looking for it nd can't find it now. I remember reading it back in the day. Was ex ex of his who made the claims. But id there is no police report, we cannot verify any of it.

Not a single one of these helps argument one way or another. And by the way, it's a No-No to use past criminal history to argue in favor of someone's guilt, especially when the past crimes were of a different nature. It might help if he had been convicted of murder in the past.

Iirc both the defense and the state has mentioned his past history. I could be mistaken though.

Part of this case involves him stealing from Joey. It is very much like his past two felonies.

Thanks. Then why would he park the SUV at the Mexican border? What could be the purpose for that? Do we all agree that whoever parked the SUV there had something to do with the murder and wanted to give the false impression that the family had gone to Mexico? We'd expect them to take advantage of the surveillance footage to make that point, no? If CM did it, it would appear odd he said Joey would never take his kids to Tijuana.
I believe Chase thought he had committed the perfect crime, and that the graves would never be found. He was therefore using psychology - "Everyone knows Joey felt that way. Listen to what I'm saying. I'm telling you this because I've got nothing to hide."

I need more clarity on that search. There is some confusion.
Anyone could have made that search, including Chase. I'd like to know the date and time it was made, though.

I fail to see any motive for CM to kill the whole family. He had nothing to gain but too much to lose. If he had stolen money, he could continue to steal without killing the entire family. Just because he may have stolen money immediately after the disappearance by no means implies he caused the disappearance. It's a possible scenario that he may know, somehow, they weren't coming back because someone may have killed them, and took advantage of that to steal money. I am by no means claiming he did steal money or he did know they were not coming back, just showing a possible scenario and reasonable doubt.

It took more than whatever motive alleged to CM to kill the entire family, and in such a brutal manner. There was extreme emotion, hatred, cruelty, and potential gains from the deaths. For me, nothing suggests CM had all these.
To me, everything suggests that he did.

The answer, which was "yes, and we have the evidence to prove it"... was to a pretty extensive question involving the murder, the burying, and taking the truck down to the border and if he could do it by himself... it is also the answer I would expect from a District Attorney who has charged Merritt.

The Prosecutor in the OS's seems to concede that there is going to be some unanswered questions:

From opening statement:

CONCLUDES

Ladies and Gentlemen we talked a little bit about in jury selection and Mr Imes talked to you about unanswered questions. There will be some in this case. We can’t tell you whether or not someone helped the defendant either during the commission of the crime or after. Certainly it would suggest two grown people need to be moved, we can’t answer all of the questions, but we can answer the who, [video skips] he was ripping off his ‘best friend’ and got caught and we can tell you that the evidence is going to show in this case that the only person in this case that’s associated with the McStays that had a connection to the High Desert is the defendant. Everyone else is San Diego county, Riverside county, Orange county. The only connection to the High Desert in this case is that man right there. We can tell you the how, we can tell you the why, and we can tell you the who, and at the end of this case we’re going to give a closing argument and we’re going to ask you to find him guilty and to hold him accountable. Thank you.

There are several videos on that page, which one are you referring to? Thanks

I seem to be unable to locate the video about CM dropping the Trooper off and returning home? Maybe I am inept?

They are talking about cleaning up the crime scene. I thought we were talking about HOW CM dropped the Trooper off and returned home?

if you can see the video's on the bottom, it's the one titled Chasing a Killer: the Mcstay family murders

It wasn't a specific question or answer, it was an answer to a long question...

Does this one work? Time the enemy in solving McStay family killings - CNN

It was from 3:13-3:37 in the video. The DA states they have "the evidence to prove that," in regards to how the Trooper was left at the border. He does NOT state the who/where/when/why, just that he believes they have the evidence to prove CM drove the Trooper to the border and returned home.

"We knew where CM was on a daily basis." 1:20-1:27. From 3:13-3:37 is where he talks about dropping the Trooper and "Evidence to prove that" statement.

That statement is very clear.

No DA is going to state something publicly in the affirmative if they know they really don't have it.

That would be political suicide since DAs are elected.

lol the video I watched was only 1:41, it was addressing whether CM did it alone.

Unfortunately, I am a little sceptical of what the DA or LE say, this might be one of those things that they just will not be able to say how he did it, but they still believe he did, alone or not alone.

You told it like it is, OBE.
