But certainly anyone with training knows the only thing that would stop the over heated core that is shutting down the brain and causing organ failure is immersion in cool water, preferably ice water.Agree with all of this except I think you meant “supine,” not prone ;-). I remember it with “supine, looking up at the pines.” Good CPR commonly breaks ribs and leaves bruising, so (as you said) it doesn’t seem like it was attempted.
Pumping the heart and mouth to mouth won't save you from heat stroke.
Drinking water won't even help a soaring body temp.
