The page ran by the SM is now making announcements for LE?
I checked Mono's page. No mention of Karlie whatsoever or the plans to hold a press conference marking the one year anniversary since she went missing. Not a peep about it.
How will anyone who doesnt visit SM's groups and pages know of this press conference?
This is a huge problem. LE is only confirming suspicions that they are overly friendly with the Guses, abnormally and obsessively friendly, and that they have not investigated this case professionally since day one. Shame on them. This is not how a professional LE agency would behave. They would not be allowing for the parents of a missing child to speak on their behalf. There is a huge conflict of interest going on here.
This is completely disturbing and unacceptable. They need to have this case removed from their jurisdiction because they are not doing their job properly. Unreal. I dont understand the FBI either? Impossible that they arent seeing all this corruption. I have no faith in the people handling Karlies case. I feel so bad for this missing child who has been victim of so many selfish, delusional and incompetent people. Completely deplorable situation.

Its totally sad.
You would think that they would keep this loyal behavior discreet, but they have no fear nor shame.
Saw that they were hiring for a new deputy. Surely anyone could apply and get hired on the spot at this rate.

The public notice was posted 10/8. I would think the participants expected to attend the presser were notified before that date. jmo

You dont know that for sure. Pretty evident the public was notified on 10/7/19, when the official page posted it. JMO.

Are you saying the official page posted it on 10/7 & the Bring Karlie Home facebook page posted it on 10/7. As far as me not knowing for sure when dad & sm were informed of the presser you are right & that's why I said it was my opinion. I just assumed that participants that are asked to attend an event are informed & asked if they will attend before the event is announced publicly listing them as attendees. jmo

That’s the big question. She lied about the clothing, IMO changing it to what she herself was wearing. The only reason for this lie is to produce witnesses who can tell LE they saw Karlie when in fact they saw the SM. These witness didn’t know Karlie or the SM. At 7am, in the morning dusk and from a distance, they saw a female with long dark hair. Was it Karlie? IMO it was the SM.

The usual motive for lying in cases like this is to cover up involvement in something nefarious. Whether a deliberate act, an accident or Karlie herself caused Karlie’s disappearance, a person who wants LE to find their missing step-child doesn’t lie about anything. An innocent person doesn’t try to influence witness to lead LE in the wrong direction. A person who asks the public for help doesn’t misdirect the public who are trying to help you find your missing step-child. A concerned parent doesn’t go on fb and make manic videos about themself.

I agree, whatever her (Karlie's SM) reasons for lying, they can't be good in the big picture for Karlie. If she's 'just' a pathological liar and lies about little things all the time, she's probably not a good influence on a teenager with issues of her own living under her roof for the first time. Something is really hinky about her, all around.

I still can't believe she videotaped Karlie unraveling that night to later show her what she was being like. Karlie was obviously having a really hard time, and asked her SM to be ready to call 911, but that didn't happen and now she's gone. What a travesty for Karlie and her family and friends that she was left to her own devices in her hour of need.

Bumping for Karlie. It's been a very long year worrying and wondering what happened to her, and it's sad there is nothing at all from LE. Like nothing. I thought that was very offhand and callous for the LE rep to say by way of update that they don't even have evidence of a crime. She disappeared from home overnight or into the early morning hours! Without a reason or leaving a note or telling anyone what she was planning! That has to imply foul play, I just don't understand LE pussyfooting around like this for an entire year. It's disheartening to say the least.

I wonder if her mom has hired a PI to look into her disappearance. Seems like the only way to go at this point. I would donate if so. Karlie has to be found.

Im sure they did know before the public. Hopefully Lindsay and the Guses were both notified at the same time and in the same fashion. Would hate to learn BM heard from the Official page or through a friend of hers. I agree that they would be advised in advance, prior to public. Totally makes sense.

Speaking through sobs, her mother, Lindsay Fairley, pleaded for her safe return. "I love you sweet pea. Please come home. We love you Karlie."

The known facts about her disappearance haven't changed much in a year.

She apparently left her home in this rural neighborhood a dozen miles of so north of Bishop early in the morning after hanging out with friends apparently smoking marijuana.

Whatever happened to her that night, her step mother says it had a marked effect on her behavior, leaving her alternately fearful and animated.

The next morning pair of neighbors who saw her said she seemed disoriented and lightly dressed for the weather as she walked down to Highway 6. A passing motorist saw her at the intersection.

And that's where Karlie Guse was last seen and where the mystery begins.
One year later, family, community waits for missing teen
