If you want to find out what the story is you would have to go back to the first page of the thread (if one is new to Websleuths.) What evidence has turned up is being debated so unfortunately there is no clear way of familiarizing oneslef with evidence presented by LE. Perhaps I suggest those who know Kiely Rodni what they have said verified by LE in various news articles and those who assisted with the search for Kiely is where to begin to find out what evidence there is. I do wish it could be easier maybe there is an easier way IDK. Good luck.

Dr. Phil included Kiely in his show on "Citizen Sleuths" which aired Monday. I haven't seen it but apparently it covers several cases. I'm not holding my breath that anything new will be revealed. Did anyone watch it?

Okay, I'm watching the Dr. Phil episode (as referenced in the above post) and so far they're covering the first case, that of a young man whose remains were found in a submerged car. I'm not naming names here so as to keep the focus on Kiely.
In that case I noticed a few things: AWP contacted the boy's parents. His mom said they accepted the help but had no confidence because LE had already searched that area. Sound familiar? In that case the boy had left a note and money to a girl he was friends with and so it appears he may have committed suicide.
Jared L from AWP said some emotional things to the mom and IMO he was very sincere and sad. It helps (me) to feel like it counteracted some of the drama around Kiely's case but that's MOO.
Next up was Kiely's case. AWP video of the search follows. Interestingly, the part where diver Nick surfaces and says Kiely's in the back of the vehicle, his statement is cut off after "Call the authorities." IOW "It's suspicious" was cut out. I assume it was Dr. Phil's editors who did that.
Dr. Phil then introduces Frank Powell, a retired LEO with the Mission Bay Harbor Patrol in San Diego who oversaw the scuba dive and search recovery team. Mr. Powell said
if you're looking for evidence underwater, everything moves nothing stays put even in static water which means what you have is wind conditions. Winds create waves which
create current so even in a body of water that looks like the water is not moving everything underneath is moving.
He continued to list other factors such as animals, a bit of a current, trees, branches and silt where things disappear easily so the search is way more difficult underneath the water and can be dangerous.
Mr. Powell went on to explain the importance of having volunteers in such searches and pointed out that volunteer doesn't mean amateur. So basically explaining why AWP was valuable in finding Kiely. He went into more but y'all can watch that for yourselves.
Then came a discussion of social media and whether it plays a positive or negative effect when searching for missing people. Towards the end Dr. Phil also talked about the disconnect in missing indigenous people and the media.
So, as predicted nothing new came up but I appreciated the lack of discussion about theories regarding Kiely's death. Just facts and a nice interview with the members of AWP. After some of the recent drama it was nice to hear about their desire to help without the bells and whistles.

respectfully, just reread these theories and they all involve dragging the car back from hiding somewhere starting from the day she was reported missing until days later, and then putting her in a lake.This is a mountainous region with giant crevasses, ravines, other obscure lakes all over the place, abandoned mines, etc. Would make a bunch of sense to not go back to the beach and just put her in such areas.

The thing is we don't know when it went into the lake to begin with so that already makes it unestablished. Secondly "No One Saw it Go into the Lake," because no one was there to see it and report it to LE. IMO LE can't determine this either.

I personally don't see any evidence that the area (where she ultimately found) was under any kind of surveillance, let alone being watched 24/7. It had been searched and "cleared" to LE's apparent satisfaction. They couldn't be bothered to even send one person (didn't need to be an active duty cop... just send someone, anyone, to liaison) to the area to supervise a dive team that was doing a search. To me it looks more like absolutely no one had any further interest in the area, and no one would have been around to see the car being dumped there days later. Why put in the money and manpower into watching a cleared area, unless you're expecting new evidence to pop up? If it is completely impossible that a perp would return to the area to dump evidence, then there is no reason for surveillance.
Although, given the general incompetence, I will not totally discount the theory that LE spent a week or longer sitting on the beach watching the water level go down a millimeter per hour. That would certainly explain the nearly 20,000 hours spent on the "search."

Yes, this is one of several theories I have about what happened to KR. It would explain why LE and many searchers in the area had not found KR's car. And yes, this theory entails either KR being alive for one or more days after the party (e.g. kidnapped and held captive) or having died the night of the party, and then later dumped to stage an accident. IMO.
No, LE was not watching the area where the party was held. That was said by LE during an early presser (or community meeting). The official who said that went on to explain allowing recreational activity to go on would provide more eyes.

What would be the point for the perp to ditch the car to be found by AWP then? It was public knowledge they are coming to do a search and they are known to search places already searched by cops. And, if local, to a place where the water level is at times so low the car could very well become visible sooner or later.

can you provide the link with LE saying no one was watching prosser after her disappearance% I bolded *more* above to illustrate he is alluding to some eyes are already watching.
We know that there was recreational activity going on not only from LE as you state, but from fishing reports that said bring KR home on the bottom.
But I cannot recall any statement by LE saying they were not keeping an eye on prosser.
That recreational activity was during the day.

Allow to remind you all that literally the day after Kiely went missing her story was national news. Tens of thousands of people were looking for her everywhere. I just don't think that boyfriend hers, who was being actively interviewed right and left, has the stones to drive her car with her dead body in it back to the epicenter of the huge search for her and put it in the lake - and then somehow make his way out. I don't think there are very many people who do - especially as @Ixchel13 says there are thousands of other more discrete places that it could have been done that would have been far far less risky at the dump and only slightly more dissociate at the discovery (if it were even ever discovered). The theories just don't make sense for either a smart perp or a dumb perp. It would take a really dumb, really lucky perp and I'm not a great believer in luck.

As you can see, the best fishing is at 2 am. Not being argumentative, and really dont want to go back over these fishing reports. The reason they were brought up in the first place was to establish that there would be fishers in the reservoir and there were.
If LE did indeed say that activities and recreation could continue to provide more eyes, they were most certainly also talking about night fishing as well.
I don't think even a stupid person would go back to the scene of the crime and leave incriminating evidence, especially a body. The only situation I can think of would be a serial killer returning to a body to relive the crime.
