Sad to say but my gut feeling is that she is in the water. This is just my opinion, but since her last cellphone ping was very close to the lake edge is seems likely to me. Occam's razor.
Me too.
However then I just can't explain why LE then needs "information" on her necklaces...

I think those are the crucial hours although LE has said that she was seen at the party around midnight as reported by EP. Still, LE wants to know what KR did, who she was with, her physical/mental state in the hour or so leading up to when her phone died at 12:33. It sounds like KR was still in the area when a large number of the younger party goers began leaving at about 12:30.
We have about 2 1/2 hours of heavy partying, fights, suspected drug use, etc, but it all seems to boil down to what happened between about 12:15 pm and 12:33 pm.
Have you seen EP’s declaration anywhere other than a note in a Timeline? I haven’t found it.

I want to know why everybody left at the same time. is there some kind of informal curfew at the park, where LE ignores parties that end early or something? Did something happen?

This will sound odd, but I wonder where the girls were going when they had to pee? Is it possible she needed to pee again, (from all the drinking it sounds like they were doing) and somehow fell into water? Or at least dropped her phone and it fell into water? I would assume her body would have been found by now, but heading off to pee before driving home, or stopping along the way also could have put her in a vulnerable situation.

I asked my sister abt the iPhone finding thing she uses and she says it works when phones are off and/or the battery is dead. Can anyone confirm? Maybe we would need to know exactly which phone Kiely had to know if this is the case? And if the phone was in the lake, I'm pretty sure it would not work, but I'm not 100% sure. Any thoughts?
I researched the iPhone thing. apparently find my phone can work with newer models even if the battery is dead or it's turned off. without knowing the exact model she had and which functions were enabled/disabled, I don't think we can figure that out. but it is definitely possible for newer phones to be pinged, apparently

Wouldn't LE be able to tell who had driven on the ramp recently? Tracks on the approach? Some way to analyze tire prints?

Maybe I am assuming too much, but I would hope everything was locked right down, and if the phone pinged nearby, I would hope they checked that sort of thing?
i dont think so. wet tires all day on pavement? we have a boat, during peak times of day the whole ramp is wet.

Forgive me if this was already asked, but... where is her car? If she left willingly, where is her car? If she got hurt and left somewhere, where is her car? If she was murdered, where is her car? I just find it really hard to believe her car hasn't been found.

Thank you! As a parent, it seems worth it.

I totally missed that they were joining in the search, but it shows that law enforcement is pulling out all the stops here.

They've had a ton of success recently, and this is exactly the type of thing they're best at. If anyone can find that car, they can.

She just has to be in the water; somewhere.
I do really think this is what happened.
But why does LE want info on her necklaces??
Hmmm....

Hmmm....
Were they valuable?

The only two reasons I could think of would be if someone tried to sell them, or to help identify her if they were found.

But I believe the tracking is passive, like an AirTag. If another iPhone comes nearby it records that it detected your phone. It isn’t active like a ping.

I haven't been to this particular ramp recently. I don't know if there's a dirt section before the paved ramp. This is very popular boating spot, I'm sure there were many boats being lauched that day. There would be numerous tracks. Plus, the following morning before she was reported missing there would be people fishing.

I'm also not sure if they know what tires her CRV had on it.

It's not via a ping, rather, it's via a Bluetooth signal. Even though the phone is powered down, it retains enough battery that it can be located if someone travels nearby with another Apple device (provided both parties have opted in).

This means that you can log into the account of the missing phone, and potentially find it through the "find my feature."

This is completely different from pinging a phone however.

IMO, LE is trying to jog anyone's memory of seeing her. It's important because if she went on to another party somewhere, the route to search could widen. Maybe the Lana Del Ray sweatshirt was left behind in the car by her friend, M, so there's a chance she may have put it on.
I so agree. If it's true that there were adults unknown to the kids there, they might be willing to call in an anonymous tip they saw her at such-and-such a time if she stood out because of the shirt or gold chains.

OK, maybe its time to go back to maps. Sorry I don't have the time to go back to T1 or T2 to retrieve others' maps previously posted. So here is my version from Google Maps.
  • You can see the 30 minute highway route or Alder Creek Road route (no I-80, see purple arrow I drew).
  • I've circled (pink) most of the bodies of water in the area, including a mall ponds (?) near the lodge.
  • I have also circled the Donner Pass area in yellow where elevations and mountain roads could pose a significant challenge for many people who got lost up there - or intentionally went up there for reasons we've discussed.

right the vast majority of any possible route toward her home is not by water

ETA: Kiely already knew at 11:30 pm that she was not going to be able to leave the party at midnight in order to meet curfew. She must have been waiting for something or someone that was not going to happen until 12:15 am. Her mother never explains the reason for the delay. Not to us anyway.
Kiely only arrived at the party at 10pm (according to SS.) So her evening there was going to be very short to make her curfew.....especially if she lived a 45 minute drive away!

this article uses the term "ping" but perhaps imprecisely

if it can only be "pinged" with bluetooth, that's obviously very limited

Something else SS said in her interview stood out to me, as someone who has owned Hondas. She mentioned Kiely's SUV had Honda wheels.

I'm looking now, but I wonder if the 2013 ones are valuable/swap with many other vehicles? I have owned a Honda where this was an issue. Maybe a "sketchy" guy was interested in her car?

I was no saint as a teen, and that is putting it mildly - to say the very least. But my parents had no real idea what I was doing, and it wasn’t in their car. I think that’s what is getting me a bit. There feels such a lax attitude about these reservoir parties from some folks we have heard from in this case. I have yet to hear a parent or LE say, ‘this is why we don’t condone these parties.‘ I guess some would say that now is not the time - but to me, it seems the perfect time to maybe scare the kids a little straight.

And apparently it’s been going on for decades in the area, and not the first time there has been an injury, per the article below when a teen was burned. I hope this won’t turn out to be the first fatality, but it’s not looking good.

“Berry said that one of the biggest obstacles they face is overcoming the idea that partying in the woods is something that all kids do.”

“It’s not a right of passage just because you’re a senior in high school to be able to go out and drink in the woods. That right of passage is when you’re 21,” Berry said.

Underage drinking spills out into town
I concur. I don’t think we could choose a better time to talk about the consequences of our actions. We need to make education relevant to adolescents when they are receptive to the learning. Some of the party attendees may very well be thinking, “that could have been me.” When will be a better time to help parents and kids understand how to protect themselves in the future? Especially if alcohol and drugs are in the equation.
This is not to victim blame or to suggest that parents were negligent in their parenting. But, it certainly can’t hurt to bring awareness about the very real dangers of simply participating in what seems to be socially acceptable behavior.
I work with traditional college students (18-22 years) who often don’t consider consequences. We need to remember that it is OK to guide teens to help them become responsible members of society. It’s a job we all have.

No,they attempt to do what they want and responsible parents don't let them because they have been there, done that AND got the t-shirt.

ETA- IMO
Being a responsible parent of 2 teenagers I will say they will still do what they want...I had one son who was perfectly compliant and another who I put alarms in the house, put up security cameras moved his bedroom etc and he still found a way to get out in the middle of the night... don't always blame parents for what teens do. And don't underestimate a teen who wants to do something they aren't allowed to
