Does anyone have the link to the second part of the interview with Bio mom? I've only seen the first half and the teaser for the second.

You are right. I guess I never thought of that. At this point any behavior could be seen as deviant knowing what we know.

WOW! Watch the video at this link. Reporter seems to have a freudian slip when he says he spoke with a family member who doesn't think the SON is guilty. He says son twice, then corrects himself, and starts saying brother. This leads me to believe he talked with BF or CW.

The last statement troubles me a bit.... it may have been worded incorrectly by reporter, but he states that the family member doesn't think IF will be "CONVICTED" of this crime. Ok...

At very least, it is stated that the family is not happy with the investigation and they have doubts about IF's involvement. Hmm.

And btw, from the video, I got the impression that they were talking to Fowler family members vs. the bio mom. Is bio mom living in VS?

I would have to be shown concrete evidence implicating him, not circumstantial before i would believe my son could do this.

Since other juvenile offenders are likely there for lesser crimes, maybe we should be worried about other juvenile offenders.

I can totally see why you would make that statement. But I think it comes from the premise that juvenile offenders are similar to adult offender populations and they just are not.

My knowledge of the juvenile justice system (my law partner defends a lot of juvenile defendants) and of. Hold development tells me that. There will be very few children this kid's age in juvenile detention. Most will be older, more seasoned, with a definite pattern of criminality. It takes a lot before they actually end up in "juvvy" because there are so many diversion programs and second chances for these kids. So you have some of the worst of the worst there.

Many of the kids there are hardened gang criminals. They have coldly robbed, jumped And some have then murdered. Most children under 14 who engage in such vicious murders against family tend to come from seriously troubled backgrounds and often have mental health histories. Most have experienced significant abuse. That is not the case if, however, they calmly target unrelated children they do not know well. Those tend to be a scarier, predatory and more sociopathic breed.

And most sociopathic types begin with things like fire starting and animal abuse before targeting unrelated, small children.

And iN fact, in the case of children this age who committ murders and are later released, I can't think of one who committed another murder. Even those kids who murder strangers.

The brain of a 12 year old child is simply vastly different in terms of understandings about consequences, permanency, grief, impulse control, emotional stability, etc., than that of an older child/teen.

It's easy to start screaming that a child who does something as horrific and evil as this is a sociopathic monster. I actually think in the vast number if these cases, when the child is under 14, they are not. They have either sociopathic leanings that can still be undone or they have killed for reasons unrelated to psychopathic tendencies. IMO.

But if we don't get such kids help, well, we could have more problems in the future.

Stage 1: Denial.

They'll accept it once police sit them down properly and take them through all the evidence. I hope.

FWIW I'm getting a budding psychopath vibe off this kid, looks like more is coming out. Press conference should be interesting. Still .. the parents could not have seen THIS coming, but I guess I should reserve my judgement until we get a fuller picture.

On the facebook discussion, can someone paraphrase what that was .. did the stepmom let biomom have it? Also is biomom a previous partner of BF and IF and LF his natural children? Not that it matters, just curious.

I have to say, in all the photos and video there's something about this kid that just jumps right off the page. He really stands out from everyone else around him whether he's looking right at the camera or not.

After the interview that Priscilla gave Crystal posted on FB basically saying that she was a liar and that this is the last thing they all needed right now. I am guessing it was in reference specifically to the notion that she was forced out of the funeral, as we mysteriously never saw the 2nd part of that interview. I have wondered if the family pressured the news to not air the 2nd segment or perhaps LE may have-not sure.

There were NUMEROUS posts very supportive of Crystal in response to her post and many of those were quite viscious. That said, many of Crystal's friends continue to post on her site with their unwavering support of her and the family no matter what.

I seem to remember it like this:

1.). Boy calls parents
2.) Parents call 911
3.). 911 calls boy and speaks to boy

Neither 911 call have been released-neither the inbound nor the outbound. I am hoping they at least release the call from the dad, but can understand not releasing the call to the boy.

What is so interesting is that usually parents leave/discuss instructions to a babysitter or older sibling to dial 911 if something goes wrong. This is just common sense to ensure the steps are clear when 911 needs to be used. He dialed his parents first. Which means he probably already knew he did something wrong and did not want the authorities/paramedics at the door…scary thinking..

Well they would lose their job if they gave their name....

which begs the question it always does. Why is this person willing to risk their job releasing private student information to the press in order to be an "unnamed source"?

I'll give him a pass on that because I think (but hopefully will never have to confirm) that my own 12 year old would likely call me first or run next door to my Grandmom before he would call 911.

Yes, Eileen, the arrested son is not being defended by the older brother, grandfather or his stepmom. But then again NOBODY is publicly defending him.

I kind of wonder if some family members are....almost relieved...that IF is going to be put away? I know he's family but if you thought he did it...would you want to live with him? And who knows what his behavior was like in that house before the murder. It's interesting to me that neither the stepmom, the older brother, nor the grandfather is really defending him.

Priscilla is his mother. He would be HER son too.
Then again, the media certainly seems to forget that this child has THREE parents.
A biological mother, a step mother and a father.
So odds are, they were not talking about his biological mother.

Agreed, hence my last statement. It is my impression, from the video, that reporter was talking with Fowler family members, as he keeps referring to the "Fowler Family". Yes, the media does seem to keep forgetting about Priscilla. And what is unknown at least to most of us here, is the situation there as far as parental rights.

Thankfully the actual rates of true sociopaths are very low. My best friend is a prison psychologist and said it was rare to find a true sociopath. Most juvenile delinquents do not neccesarily not feel empathy as much as they use techniques to justify their crimes. Gang members justify their crimes with loyalty to their gang which for many members becomes a substitute for their family. Other offenders might justify crimes by believing the victim deserved it or it was them or me. Prisons, especially juvenile detention centers, do serve as crime colleges moreso than rehabilitation centers. So inmates come out schooled in crime and are abused horribly. I get the impression though, prison is something that family might be somewhat familiar with. Thanks for the information and your thoughts. This kid will be brutalized.

I wouldn't trust much of what the media says at this point, unless it's from named sources. We know how that goes, they'll get a snippet from any person around that will talk and make it a story. Does anyone have a link to the live presser yet?

BTW, thank goodness for the little 7 year old who escaped from a man's trunk in Sacramento, or we would have had another tragedy. There's a good drawing of who they're looking for here... http://www.kcra.com/news/local-news...ght/-/12969376/20127710/-/ynl8e5/-/index.html I'm only posting it here, because I know locals are reading the board and they can be looking out for this person.

i am so confused. can someone please clarify for me who is the biological mother of whom? am i right that Crystal is the one that's pregnant and all Fowler children in her pictures are hers...is Crystal remarried? and how on earth would Priscilla have the audacity to create strife during this time? i recognize that step parents are still parents but if i were Leila's biological mother and father i would be telling the third parent to cram it, regardless if they were my spouse. while i'm sure she loved the little girl, the woman that carried her has to be feeling the magnitude of this tragedy like no other could. and even if the step mom was "forced out" of the funeral, i think it's safe to say that throwing a public tantrum is inappropriate.

Priscilla is the bio mom and Crystal is the stepmom.
