Are there any ruleouts listed on this case? The reason I ask is I wonder how well records were kept back in 1955 (eye color, height, etc). This missing case is not a perfect match, but certainly not a far cry either. I just wish there was a better quality photo:

I wonder what could have been "very bad". The dissolving of a marriage? Loss of a job? Loss of a child? I wonder where she originated from.

I'm also curious about the purpose of the note. I assume she wrote it because she ended up in LA. It's seems like something a busker might use to ask for money, but given that it's written on a napkin, I don't know how people would see it.

I have bipolar disorder, and I have often written down things like that on scraps of paper during manic episodes. I wonder if she was having something like that? or if she meant to leave it with someone. It also seems like there is an accent mark above the "u" in bus, and the phrasing "things very bad" make me wonder if she is not a native english speaker.

I was wondering that too.

I also wondered whether she was aware of a health problem and was trying to get to LA (home?) before it got too bad.

Accent mark could indicate she spoke Spanish - autobús has the same accent mark, I've also seen it written as bús. A native Spanish speaker may want to confirm how it's written though, I can only speak/write very broken street Spanish.

I read this as someone left a note for her and she was retracing their steps by taking the bus.

Amateur opinion and speculation

I just looked them over, only real difference is the missing woman was last seen in May and the deceased woman was found in October.

Eyeglasses ✅
White or grey hair ✅
Married ✅

Was she running away from the man, her husband, who was charged with her murder?
