If you've been following Lydia "Dia" Abrams case, then you know the valuable information obtained and shared about Dia's case by a special Investigative Producer and his staff at San Diego's News8. I hope he will continue to look into and report on this case.

News8's Investigative Producer, David Gotfredson, has been doing a weekly show of past unsolved crimes in the area. It's called "True Crime Files". He did one show on the Geezer Bank Bandit who hit 16 banks between 2009 - 2011. Looked like an older man, but was said to have been wearing a mask.

This week's crime covered was about the Zodiac Killer and if he started his crime spree here.

I go up to Idyllwild often and love that town. Any black cloud over it spurs my interest. I, like many here can't wait to hear what really happened. The other missing people are a mystery too. I would hate to think a serial killer is wondering those hills and preying on the people of Idyllwild. I hope we hear something soon...

Since we have no updates on this case, I went back and reviewed our thread for her here at WS. So, just a couple of thoughts as I went over articles and posts.

I re-listened to the “extended interview”.
I think that when he says: “I just think it’s a sad thing you have to challenge your own children for the right to live”, or that she changed ownership to the Trust because she felt there was a “threat to her life”—he’s referring to her living financially secure. But, the manner in which he states it, it seems like he was implying a threat to her physical life, in my opinion.

A poster PomMom had said Dia was expected to go to San Diego the day she went missing. Hopefully, something like that would be one of the more easily verifiable facts by investigators. If true, she likely would have left in the morning or early afternoon to allow for drive time, traffic conditions, and day lighting (as you get older, it is preferable to avoid night driving. Aging eyes make it harder, believe me, ugh). If they could verify that to be so, then the events and conversation surrounding the 2:00 lunch would be questionable. Wish we knew what they know!

All JMO.

@Desert Cruiser, your post is too cryptic for me to know what you’re getting at, but I’m intrigued, that’s for sure! ;)

I hope it means more info on Dia’s case will be forthcoming. She needs to be found.

Crime is keeping our special Investigative Reporter / Producer busy. See this video-- https://cbs8.com/embeds/video/509-e1e102a1-bb8b-4ae4-99c9-ef02e119bee9/iframe?jwsource=cl He did a piece on a Lisa Thorborg, a 68 yr. old woman, fatally stabbed in Carlsbad on a lovely, friendly hiking trial. I'm guessing she was attacked by a stranger, but you never know.

Who harmed Dia Abrams? It seems unlikely it was a stranger. JMO, there's several likely suspects, one has been pointing a finger, while others have stayed completely out of the news spotlight. I just wonder how those connected to Dia could allow this homicide to go unsolved. This case has gone way too quiet and I fear it will become a cold case.

Brrrr... Get a jacket!
Sidebar: What Is a Cold Case?
The definition of a cold case varies from agency to agency. The National Institute of Justice currently defines a cold case as any case whose probative investigative leads have been exhausted. In essence, this means a case that is only a few months old may be defined as being "cold."

… probative investigative leads have been exhausted.... this means a case that is only a few months old may be defined as being "cold."

That's it, you could disappear apparently without a trace of what happened to you, but what's really surprising is that within six months, life goes on and no one seems to be alarmed that you're still missing. You might have been murdered, but all is quiet. The local small newspaper barely mentions the fact anymore. Disturbing, isn't it?

Guess it's business as usual. Not seeing any pics of the property listings, but somehow got to see blurbs about a few wonderful stays in November and over Thanksgiving. Apparently, KH is an amazing host. The animals are a big delight. Wonder if there's a new grow site. Okay, I can't imagine what's going on legally and if family is willing to let go of this valuable property for the time being without a fight. Are they just satisfied with that old truck of Clem's?

There's not much LE may be able to do now until and if only Dia could be found. No loved ones seem to be pushing for that anymore.

MOO, Dia deserves Justice and whoever disappeared her needs to be behind bars.

The Idyllwild Town Crier has a paywall, but I was able to read the one article. No new info about 'Dia, but there is a link to a 12/03/20 article/interview with the daughter of still-missing Roy Prifogle in the right margin of the page:

Still looking for updates on missing people • Idyllwild Town Crier

Still looking for updates on missing people
Jenny Kirchners
November 17, 2020

>>>snip

...The newspaper reached out again to the media information bureau seeking any updates regarding the four still missing people in the Idyllwild and surrounding area. Pecoraro responded that they have no updates at this time.

Since the beginning of June, the Town Crier has contacted the media information bureau every week in an attempt to receive updates about the missing people in and around the Idyllwild area...

(article continues)

I continue to think of 'Dia daily. I wish there was something we could do to find her.

Some of us don't. Where can we find this valuable information?

Welcome, @LocalBoy !
Yes, David Gotfredson (Investigative Producer) of cbs8 has been our best source for information for Dia’s case.

Yes, Welcome @LocalBoy. This thread has a lot of caring people. I've been seeing David Gotfredson (Investigative Producer) of cbs8 reporting all kinds of news lately. San Diego is going back on the limited Stay-at-Home orders, so he's doing a crucial job covering so much.

He was under a desk reporting the 4.4 earthquake from this morning! You know, I can recognize his voice instantly now. I'm sure he hasn't forgotten Dia.

where is Dia?

Murderous Betrayal!
How many employees where working Dia at that time?
MOO... wondering about all the scuttlebutt on the hill now.
Growers update?
Air BnB status?
That was a heavy loss no matter what happened...
KH still on the property? MOO...
Have the surviving family members been active?Moo...

The airbnb has been active. Last time I checked, the most recent review was just last month. Some of the reviews on the airbnb listing for the property might answer some of the other questions you've posed here.

Moo, are there other employees?
Have other employees been interviewed?

  • #398
Moo, PI's sniffing around, who's responsible for that?

  • #399
Maybe this is good time to repost flyers in the neighboring areas, telephone poles, stores etc.
The lost are not forgotten, nor are they going away...

How about that water heater guy who saw Dia that morning? Where's he been? There must be more employees that worked there. I hope Isidro the ranch hand of 14 yrs. gave LE a timeline and shared any real suspicions he had. Her family... who knows if they even care? I had hoped LE gathered enough info, but they can only do so much without nailing evidence or a body. Prayers.

Glad everyone here is trying to keep this out there and not forget Lydia "Dia" Abrams.

(BTW, I have Covid-19 and have been sick the last couple of weeks. I have compromised lungs as it is, but taking medications and on home oxygen. I think I'm improving.)
