I do the same... always last minute for me.

Just popping this back up for reference. This is the extended version of the CBS San Diego interview with Billy Little, the Attorney/Investigator that Maya's family hired.

I found this quote from a while back. It might explain the patched door IMO. Tbh, Little didn’t say which door in the room had a hole in it. This is the act of a loving and amazing mother, that puts her children’s safety over everything else. I hope she is found soon View attachment 292133

It was the bedroom door, not the bathroom door as in this anecdote she tells. However I'm wondering if this was a cover story for a previous violent event where he broke through a door to get to her? Might indicate a pattern of behaviour from him...

..... you absolutely can't move a freezer alone. MOO

I must disagree. Sorry, I'm trying to catch up here but I was amazed when my husband moved a full size hot tub on his own. I have back probs and was no help other than handing him necessary items.

...back to catching up...

MOO - shooting occurs at 10, and kids outside at 1030 - did the shots wake them up? Maybe they were told to go play outside while the body was moved. Doesn’t explain why he pretends to hear her Friday when MM was “cooking dinner” for herself. These poor children. The pressure is on, but I am getting nervous about these “leaks”. Feels like tipping their hand to the defense team.
In his statement, his language changes when talking about Friday. IMO he is playing desperately with truth.

At minimum, making that level of noise at that time of night is highly irregular, and given the circumstances, very suspicious.
Who would be rude enough to disturb the neighbors with a nail gun at 10pm?
Still sounds like shots to me, but I am no expert on that.

We shoot guns often.
We had new flooring installed recently and I listened to a nail gun for most of a day.
I'm not sure the two could be confused, perhaps an up close nail gun could sound like a muffled .22? Ill have to find the footage.

Poor MM, poor lil darlings.

MOO, fields of green grass, skies of blue and all that. Plus a few steamy piles that will hopefully be dealt with today.

when he talks about friday, his voice infliction changes. very noticeable. It's like he's trying to force feed Friday to the interviewer.

MOO. amateur speculation.

It looks like the neighbor leaked the gunshot video, then they asked that the media remove video and only share audio as they are afraid their home can be identified from the video. Some media have honored that request but others have not.
I guess one should think of the ramifications on oneself before handing the press info.
I wonder if the neighbor ever considered why the police had not shared this video before they took it upon themselves to release it to the media.

6 bangs, sounding like gunshots heard night Maya Millete missing | cbs8.com
On saturday night, MM's family went to neighbors homes looking at footages.. and she never mentions hearing any bangs. Those sounds were pretty loud and distinct, and ring doorbells are pretty sound sensitive. My ring doorbell can hear people talking at a 4 house radius.

Interesting, I've only read the transcript. Thanks, I'll find the audio.

I just saw the pic, my ten year old could move it! Whoa.

Even a 5 cubic ft freezer is 65 pounds, add to that 105 pounds. It's the awkward dimensions and the fact that it needs to be several feet off the ground to be placed in a vehicle that necessitate an extra person. Looks can be deceiving, but I'm speaking from experience as I've moved more than 2 dozen times.

I just did a search for "sound of a nail gun" on YT, and listened carefully to a couple different clips. While the initial blast has some similarity in sound to a gun blast, the resulting "reset" -(not sure of the right word to use)- prior to the next shot sounds very different to me.

Listening to the neighbors video with knowledge of what might have allegedly happened, is very chilling. Especially the pause between the fifth and sixth shot.

In rereading news articles/watching all the videos on this sad case, it would seem as if the husband was obsessively jealous and completely lost it. Some of the things he allegedly did leading up to Maya's disappearance are very disturbing.

The green eyed monster is real and destructive, and can be deadly as alleged in this case. As many of you have said correctly, one of the most dangerous times for a woman is when she is attempting to leave a volatile relationship. This seems to be true in Maya's case, at least from the armchair perspective, and without all the facts.

What I find somewhat unusual about May's case, is that unlike many abused women cases, May seemingly had a very strong support system with her family. She was not disenfranchised, and allegedly had been disclosing her marital problems to them. This isn't always the case. Many abused women live in secrecy/perceived shame, and stay silent....but people know. Sadly, domestic violence is a complex issue as many victims protect their abusers and won't accept help to escape safely.
In too many cases, the violence turns deadly, and it appears that is what happened to this beautiful and vivacious mother of three.

This is a tragedy at so many levels, as all the murder threads are. My prayers for this family continue with the hopes that there will be a peaceful arrest. I remain concerned for the children, who, IMO are at grave risk.

Just read the article where Little states the shots sound like a 357. No idea if it’s possible to know that by sound. MOO I’m not a gun expert by any means, but it does seem the “6 shot” is most common for revolvers (looked at some revolvers online and read a few forums - nothing I could cite so MOO). Not really relevant, but interesting if it was a 357 that the person felt the need to completely empty it into whatever they were shooting Just strange no can produce a single post on NextDoor, Ring or FB groups about it. I live a few cities away, and that’s all people post about. Sorry for the long and insignificant post, I just can’t stop thinking about Maya and those poor kids. However, am hoping for something big soon - feels like the pressure has been building with these leaks.

Same story, slightly different news clip. Note the comments of the volunteer; she states an alleged sighting of the Lexus during the critical time frame in question. Emphasis on alleged. Praying there are road cameras to confirm or refute this alleged sighting.

I was using Google Earth to scan around Otay Lakes and found a white bundle measuring around 1,58 m in length in the middle of nowhere. It only stood out to me because it is clearly not part of the natural landscape and due to the size. Is this part of the area that was already searched? Of course, this is like finding a needle in a haystack but see for yourself. Coordinates: 32.66220918359127, -116.98986477095268

Three months later, investigation and searches continue in disappearance of Chula Vista mom

April 11, 2021

Little said he believes “there’s plenty of evidence” in the case for police to “take some action.”

A local private investigator, Bill Garcia, also has volunteered to talk to some who know Millete and search for her. Garcia said he was motivated by a desire to tell the Millete children what happened to their mother.

Media attention on the case is mounting. Little said he gave interviews this week to Dateline NBC and the Dr. Phil show.
_______

I don't think it such a wise move to put this case on TV blast when the minor children are at home with their father. Meanwhile, CVPD hoping/trying to protect the integrity of the investigation. SMH...
