Statement Analysis Blog posted the transcript from ABC10 News’ LM telephone interview along with thought-provoking commentary.
Even someone with an untrained ear can detect when someone may be lying. We’ve all heard the interview. We’ve all listened as carefully as we could. Embedded between the obvious discrepancies in LM’s statements, there seem to be quite a few clues that might help us solve this.
LM alludes to May being in “another bedroom” stating, “so upstairs, and she’s downstairs” after he says where he is sleeping with the kids. But when her brother goes over on Friday, he is led to believe May is in the Master Bedroom. He knocks to no avail. When her parents go over, it is the Master Bedroom they are let into after LM so conveniently “finds” a key. Likewise, as he reported, LL inspected the Master Bedroom.
Could this be because no one knew about the fifth bedroom, and LM directed everyone to the bedroom he knew had no incriminating evidence in? No one would question being led to the Master Bedroom in a family home. But I think LM slipped and gave it away.
The Master Bedroom is upstairs. I hope the downstairs bedroom was searched.
Listing from 2013 when the family purchased the house: “This house comes with a bedroom downstairs, loft upstairs and a tandem garage.” See it for yourself on Redfin. Photo 8 seems like it could be the downstairs bedroom. Notice how smooth and nonporous the floors are.

Q: No-one saw her leave?
LM: Um, no, but on Friday um I could still hear her but I didn’t physically see her- when I got home, but that’s like normal too because we, you know, we have lots of bedrooms and it’s a two story house - and, you know, we kinda like - well, I give her space, so - but that’s why every time someone says Thursday - yes, it’s physically, you know, visually didn’t see her, but for me, it’s Friday, Friday night, you know, I can hear her rustling around making dinner for herself - in another bedroom, I’m sleeping with the kids in another bedroom, so upstairs, and she’s downstairs - kind deal, kinda like a roommate thing - kinda like giving each other space. I don’t need the space - she always wants the space.
Q: Got it. So it was like Friday, and then you left and went somewhere and then came back and she wasn’t there, right?
LM: Yes. I left her with my two girls, ‘cause they, you know, they um, they do their home - home school , and then I just had my son with me, so when I came back she was still there. Friday, um, we can hear her downstairs, you know, like after done giving the kids baths and feeding them and everything, and um, on Saturday morning when her parents came, came by, uh her door was locked, uh I found the keys to the bedroom and I opened it and she was already gone…
Keepin’ it…
