Last minute would’ve been Thursday (night she went missing) as Friday morning they were leaving for Big Bear. It would have made sense that a bag was already at least part way prepared for a weekend trip to the snow. Snow gear would have at least been prepped as it’s bulky. Based on what’s been said and according to a timeline, there should have been evidence that she had begun packing, same with the kids. The kids’ phones were off all day Friday, they weren’t curious about where their mom was if they were supposed to be leaving? They weren’t curious about where their dad and brother were?

that is all true, but if we were not leaving early, i pack right before i leave. they havent said the time they were leaving.

TODAY on Dr Phil, he had her sister and brother in law on the show, as well as the attorney, Billy, who talked for 30 minutes, and he discussed neighbours surveillance videos---said her cell was never found, and the GPS on the vehicle had been disabled.

He said her vehicle was backed up to the garage that night, but he didnt see anything being loaded inside. There are also videos of the car coming and going throughout the night.

He also said that the husband was a gun owner and had been asking around for a gun cleaner---and he admitted he had gunshot residue on his hands because he had been shooting for last few days.

Billy said that when he went to the home, he introduced himself as a *family friend *and an attorney and gave LM his business card. So there is no reason for him to now say he thought he was from NCIS.

*family friend---I have to go back and listen again to see if that was what he said, now I am questioning myself...:rolleyes:

Thanks for recap of the Dr Phil Show @katydid23.

I'm very surprised to see that Billy Little is suddenly being referred to as a "family friend."

I've been following this case from the beginning and I never had the impression that Mr. Little was known to the family prior to this case -- more importantly as a family friend.

Maybe I just missed it earlier...

The earliest MSM reference I recall for Mr. Little dates back to April 1, 2021-- which also includes LM's rebuttal to Little's interview. For all we know, the Dr. Phil interview/taping predates the MSM interview linked below.

In following up LM's response, alleging Little misrepresented himself as an investigator with NCIS, I found that Mr. Little's Bio states he was a criminal defense investigator for the Navy 2015-2021.

In the bio Little provided to the cold-case foundation.org (same foundation as Chris McDonough joined) it states:

He is currently semi-retired in Osage Beach, Missouri. From 2015 to 2021, Mr. Little was a criminal defense investigator for the United States Navy.

I dunno... not that I think LM a source of truth and honesty, I do think it more likely that Mr. Little showed a US Naval credential to LM rather than his driver's license or AZ state bar card. MOO

I really wanted to re-listen to that bit about the navigation system on the Lexus, unfortunately it seems that the 26 minutes posted by the Dr. Phil show that you linked above isn't the whole show as I couldn't locate that portion.

Billy Little, an attorney working with Maya’s family, told Dr. Phil about other surveillance video recorded that night and the next morning.

“There's some surveillance video of him [Larry] backing her SUV in the garage. He backs in and pulls out of the garage,” Little told Dr. Phil.

On that Friday night, the brother did notice a hole in the bedroom door that had been patched over, News 8 has learned.

“It was right next to the door handle. I asked Larry about it. He said Maya had punched a hole in that door,” said Little.

Over the weekend, there were social media posts about a search warrant being served at the San Diego home of a relative of Larry Millete.

Chula Vista police would not confirm those reports.

"I can confirm no search warrant was served this weekend on the Millete residence," said CVPD Lt. Dan Peak in an email to News 8.

The discussion about the gps on the Lexus not working just sinks my heart. No wonder LE cannot give them a direction for a search. How unbelievably sad and infuriating for the family. LM planned this all out IMO. What if the whole year of him texting the family and trying to keep MM home was an act?? What if he thought it would make him look like less of a suspect if he was keen on keeping her? From a behavioral standpoint, it is odd that LM relentlessly tried to lure MM’s family to his “side” for an entire year, then completely cuts off contact once he doesn’t need them anymore? What a mind F#@*.. MOo.

The Dr Phil show (on his website) is broken up in about 5 video segments.

I don't know if the video clips represent the entire show but the link below speaks to your questions about the Lexus.

Dr. Phil first confirms no neighbor surveillance shows MM leaving the residence.

BL states that LM is also not seen on surveillance. He says that LM is not seen getting in or out of MM's SUV yet infers that he (LM) backs the SUV in the garage and he (LM) pulls it forward.

BL states there are video clips of LM driving at odd hours during the night but he's not seen the videos to verify.

BL opines the tracking device in the Lexus was either disabled or didn't work. BL believes the vehicle is in police custody.

Based on what I heard, I don't think we know for certain who was actually driving the SUV. MOO

"The mystery deepens in the case of beautiful missing mom Maya Millete, who vanished from her home in California. Maya’s sister and brother-in-law claim she was in a volatile marriage and just days away from meeting with a divorce attorney when she disappeared. They also claim her husband, Larry, isn’t helping them search for her. Plus, a family friend describes his visit inside the home. He claims he saw fans blowing and the windows open, as if the place was being aired out. He also claims he noticed what looked like a freshly repaired hole in the couple’s bedroom door." (I asked for permission to post)

I think you heard "friend" correctly based on text from Dr. Phil website:

Millete’s family asked their friend, Attorney Billy Little, to help in the search for Maya. On Monday’s episode of Dr. Phil, “Vanished: Where is Maya?,” Little discusses his visit inside the Millete home.

Overcome by such sadness for Maya having to put up with the constant monitoring of her life, the tattle-telling on her to even her own family, and the constant judgment. No one has been named a suspect or POI, but I could tell by LM's phone interview in the beginning that he wanted those listening to side with him and he had become enraged by her freedom of spirit. All MOO and thoughts.

Did LM ever get tested for gun powder residue after MM went missing? I'm sure LE viewed/heard the video of the loud bangs, months ago. IMO, i think 6 shots sound a bet excessive ( 5 shots, with a 6th shot twenty seconds later).

There is no proof, but if true.. it wouldve been the result of passion, anger, and betrayal. IMO, I can still hear/feel that anger in his only phone interview, which was only days after she went missing.

all MOO. all amateur speculation

If the speculation that there was a shooting in that home is correct, I speculate the Perp would be charged with Voluntary Manslaughter on the crime of passion angle. They could potentially be charged with desecration of human corpse as well.

Penal Code 192 PC - Voluntary Manslaughter - California Law

"... Voluntary manslaughter is a lesser included offense to murder. Prosecutors rarely file Penal Code 192 as an original charge. The offense usually comes up in murder cases, where the accused admits to killing the victim, but seeks to have the charge reduced from murder to manslaughter. Prosecutors in a murder case may agree to a plea bargain in which the accused pleads guilty to manslaughter in exchange for a dismissal of the murder charge. ..."

I saw your earlier post. Good thinking on your part, and every state is so different. All I can say is that California is not Texas when defining "heat of passion".

The shooting of Kate Steinle case is an interesting trip through California charging. Shooter Garcia Zarate was initially charged with 1st degree murder, later reduced to 2nd degree murder for the trial, and the prosecutor chose lesser included charges including involuntary manslaughter as well as an enhancement for using a gun (skipping the rest of charges as not applicable).
