I first heard the audio of alleged gunshots on Dr. Phil but the audio quality was faint -- I could only make out that there were bangs and a dog barking.

The typical home ring cams are not of significant quality. This audio is very loud so I don't know how much CBS enhanced the copy. We also don't know the actual distance the neighbor's audio recorder is from the Millete residence. These are important factors to have to accurately assess the bangs. MOO

MOO If my kids heard a big argument and possible gunshots, I don't think they would be playing outside afterwards. They would be scared and crying I believe but JMO
I find it odd they were heard playing after something supposedly shocking and scary.
Perhaps oldest one was trying to get the little one calm and get his attention off the happenings.
Or whatever the bangs were, they were not gunshots and everything happened after they were asleep JMO speculation only

The bangs are pretty clear. Any idea who’s dog is barking? Do The Millette’s own a dog?

I heard something between the first and second bang that could be a scream but it could very well be the sound of a dog that is startled. Maybe kicked?

In California and many other places around the world, firing guns in the air to celebrate is a tradition in some cultures
I don’t know what it’s like in Chula Vista, but I’ve heard crazy amounts of gunfire around LA neighborhoods with no reports of crime or death afterwards. Especially New Year’s Eve/Day, July 4, and Halloween, but also during family celebrations, a child being born for instance. It’s pretty much always several shots in rapid succession.
Some states have made laws against it, but it didn’t stop anything in California.
Especially the week after all the noise of the New Year, I can see how hearing gunfire can seem not so out of the ordinary and someone telling their children, “that’s just people firing into the air to celebrate”.
Apparently it’s a big thing in San Diego too as there are many warnings in local news
Police urge revelers not to fire off guns, fireworks to celebrate the holiday

This is what I hear as well, though that’s the first time I heard 8 “shots”. Definitely the dog yapping after the first shot when I use my ear buds. Those last three bangs are the most chilling.

I just wonder where the children were? If they weren’t heard playing around outside until 10:30 ish, (which is so weird) that’s half an hour later. There’s no way they could be in the house or yard for that matter and not hear those “shots”. How the heck would you explain those noises to anyone much less children?
Speculation and moo
i agree. I put my earbuds on also, trying to hear screams after first shot. It sounds like a dog yelping as well.. like startled at the sounds. But now i heard this clip again.. and that aint no hammer or nailgun,

I wonder why there have been no arrests.

Raised in San Diego, I can attest to that especially in my former neightborhood. BUT this neighborhood is in a much better area and I dont believe there was anything special going on January 7th. All i could think of is its the day after the Storming the Capitol.. maybe celebrating that.

I could be wrong.

Only thing I can think of in terms of it being a special day is that Jan 7th is Orthodox Christmas (Greek and Russian Orthodox, for example). However... I don’t think it is typical to celebrate in that way.

Unless these kids are used to big arguments in that home. LM probably told them to go play while he speaks to their mother.

MOO. Wild Speculation.

My response was to a post suggesting children would be upset by the sound of gunfire and how a parent could put them at ease, especially a week after hearing New Years celebratory gunfire, normalizing it.
When I first experienced the crazy gunfire in California, I thought all **** was breaking loose, but I grew accustom to hearing it and if sirens don’t follow, or a news report later, I chalk it up to a celebration.

Yeah. This is California. Where every comment sense is thrown out the window.
Absolutely my opinion. I live here BTW.

Every state has laws written to protect children suspected to be in danger. I also hope the family exercising their rights for what's in the best interest of the children -- especially visitation with the grandparents.

Janurary 7 2021 was Serbian Christmas. The Serbians in my California community shoot their guns in celebration of Christmas every year.

I'll have to listen to that again, can you link the audio again please?

I'm sticking with the theory that she locked herself in the room and he shot to get through the wall to unlock the door without having to break his hand.... although I have heard theories that the first shots sounded like they originated in the garage so maybe she was trying to leave and he was trying to stop her? Shooting and missing, or possibly just trying to scare her.... idk. I want this solved already! I'm having as many sleepless nights as the perps. :( she needs justice and her family deserve answers.....

Y’all, I’ve refrained from making this statement cuz I just wasn’t sure, however, I have impeccable hearing and trust what I hear. It’s faint, but you can hear people arguing or at least a mans voice sounding like he is yelling. Maybe they were in the garage? I’m still confused about the gunshots at 10pm but May went radio silent around 7pm. So...did he take her phone and laptop frm her? Did he lock her in the bedroom? Did she find a way out, maybe she really did put a hole by the door to get out. Did she make it to the garage and that’s where he cornered her? For those of you who have a heightened sense of hearing, listen closely and tell me if it doesn’t sound like faint arguing in the background before the first shot. To me, it still sounds like a mans voice is elevated even after the first shot, but by the time we hear the rapid succession of shots, the sound dies down. MOO of course

She could have been dealing with dinner, bath bedtime between 7-10. Depends on what is her regular evening phone usage pattern imo.

My main reason for thinking those were indeed gunshots, and likely related to Maya, is LM's explaining to Mr. Little that he had been cleaning his guns mere days after his wife went missing, and therefore explaining away any gunshot residue on his hands. Too big of a coincidence, imo. (I suppose I've seen crazier, though. Why would he even mention anything at all about guns if he was not pre-splaining gunshot residue? Any ideas?)

I could faintly hear something but I just can’t tell where it’s coming from. There’s white noise that was distracting me and the barking.

I put earphones on, ramp up the sound, closed my eyes and sat in a dark room to listen over and over again. I hear something.

I’ve followed Abby and Libby as well as Gannon. Both have videos and after listening hard and long enough sometimes I think we hear what we want to hear rather than what is really there.

I’m hoping LE (FBI), can remove the barking and enhance the rest. Big wishes I know but it always amazes me the technology that is out there.

I'm thinking the kids were given cold medicine in a drink or something so they would not hear what was to happen.
If there are sounds of children playing, that does not mean it was from the M's house.
