Does she have other children? Are they all accounted for? Perhaps the charge is new but the charging event is distant? Someone older or younger, not free to leave...

She had another daughter who was taken away a long time ago before Melodee and placed w her father.

She’s an adult now and supposedly hasn’t had contact with her for a year or more.

I’m sort of wondering if this is something benign, more a reason to get an arrest and be able to hold and interview her.

We see similar circumstances in many cases, not that unusual. Maybe they think she will crack under pressure. She left the house barefoot, lol. Marched her right out of the house and didn’t let her stop to put her shoes on - nice tactic. Probably fed up with three weeks of her bullshite.

And as you suggest, give LE enough to hold her. Apply pressure. Get the answers they need in order to locate Melodee.

That's my assumption too - that they found some sort of reason to pull her in and see where she's at. Get the measure of her.

What a nightmare that case was! Poor Shaniya! I'll never forget ALL the adults that failed her!

i believe trafficking as well. The way she appears toward her daughter in the video comes across as cold. Keeping her isolated and homeschooled. Never playing outside or having friends. Disguising her. She looked scared in the video.

That's interesting because when I watched the video I thought Melodee looked strangely relaxed given the circumstances she was in i.e. wearing a wig in a car hire place. I even thought I might have seen a little hint of a smile. Funny how we see different things when we watch videos, isn't it? It's so subjective.

That way way too long ago imo.

It can be as simple as someone giving her a hard time while she was out at the store and her saying “Put that camera down or
You’re not leaving”

Sure is. My daughter is her age and I guess I see the mannerisms and what they mean with my daughter when I look at hers. Maybe she’s having a blast. Who knows
