Couldn't the doctor have ordered an inpatient hospital stay for observation though while his meds were changing???

He could have and we don't know if the doctor did or didn't make that recommendation but I have known a few substance abusers in my lifetime and none would have put themselves in a position that would separate them from feeding their addiction.

Any patient can refuse hospitalization or treatment but it's also worth mentioning that it's not uncommon for med changes for mental illness without harm to anyone.

Calgary has had two instances in my memory where a schizophrenic harmed others and in both cases, they had gone off meds, rather than a med change.

I'm sure he was blood tested after his arrest but his behaviour makes me wonder if he chose to self medicate rather than take his prescribed meds.

On this Christmas Eve, I am thinking about the three surviving siblings.
Hoping there are some close friends and/or extended family to be with them.

I don't know how Rob & Michele celebrated the holidays in the past ... a big 'to do' ?
Or a quiet family-only private celebration.

So sorry that the adult kids were put through this horror.
I say, 'put through'-- as one cannot help a car accident where no one else was involved, or illness, those things happen.

But this terrible loss was a deliberate act of malice, imo.

Self medicate involves street drugs and/or alcohol, with or without taking prescribed drugs and it's incredibly dangerous.

Alcohol is technically a depressant and while I'm not a doctor, any meds I've seen prescribed for mental illness, come with a warning about alcohol consumption and a long list of drugs and occasionally food (grapefruit for example), that shouldn't be taken together.

I'm not sure about other countries but in Canada, those verbal instructions are backed by written instructions with the prescription.

If Rob Reiner was found first, then he was closest to the entrance. He was probably killed first. Afterward, Michele was killed at a second location in the house. They were not killed together in one location, such as asleep in bed.

In my head I picture it as Rob stabbed in bed and dying very quickly, with Michele next to him, then her crawling off the bed to get away and possibly was dead on the floor next to the bed, where Romy did not see her.

Just how it’s framed in my mind; I know there are many other possibilities.

Probably much healthier for me not to imagine the particulars.

Not if he tested positive for being high on meth. As Dr. Drew pointed out in his interview, the crime data shows the people most likely to pick up a sharp object and kill someone with it ate people high on meth.

I was looking at how far the party was from the Reiner residence and it was about a mile and a half to two miles, a five minute ride or a 30 minute walk. Do you think he rode home with them?

None of the attendees who,spoke to the media have said if all the Reiners took NR with them but it would make sense if they did, considering they brought him and I’d think they were aware his abnoxious behaviour was disturbing the other guests. Definitely if they were aware one guest had spoken about calling LE but JMO.

But they could be. People aren't a one size fits all deal. Rage does seem more like a bipolar symptom. However, people can have several mental disabilities. As a teacher for 35 years, I see this all the time. I have taught students who are bipolar with ADHD and dyslexia.

Rage episodes can be symptoms of autism spectrum disorders, ODD, bipolar, drug-induced psychosis, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and some organic brain diseases.
Also, some people with personality disorders can develop rages. In fact, even people without diagnosed mental illness can —if severely provoked— go into fits of rage.

In the case of NR, it’s hard to say what caused any of his rages because he is reported to have so very many conditions that overlap. We know he has addiction problems, and had childhood behavior issues; he may also be on the spectrum, may have schizophrenia, and seems to exhibit antisocial and narcissistic personality traits. It’s going to take a while for his mental health professionals to tease those all apart, IMO.

Still, in spite of all that, he felt no need to prove himself, make his mark on the world in a positive way, find a job... seems all he wanted to do was the freedom to do drugs and live at home and upset people.

Maybe Because he got what he needed by emotionally extorting them, and when the big Hollywood director pays attention, he feels like hes a somebody.

Michele allegedly said she couldn’t deal with it and left the room and RR stayed and talked him off the ledge for hours. Like a set up, to see how far their love for him would go.

And A. Jackson wasn't chosen to represent NR at random, imo.
IF NR is fully acquitted and exonerated due to his meds being changed, Alan Jackson will have figuratively pulled a rabbit out of a hat.
But I wouldn't be totally shocked, just saying that.
My .02 is that ain't gonna happen, no way no how.

It seems like many are saddened and outraged at what NR has done.

NR and his meds?
Was he in charge of his meds?
Did he take them as prescribed?
Did he self-medicate with the prescribed drugs too and take less/ more or differently than the recommended dosage?
Were street drugs also in his system ?
Treatment for schizophrenia often includes more than one anti-psychotic drug and some kind of anti-depressant or mood stabilizer.

One would think that LE drew blood from him after being arrested but who knows?

The wilderness camp NR attended at age 16 was identified by NR as "Second Nature," located in Utah. They've been in operation for more than 27 years and is NOT closed down. Link

Patients who attended with NR have talked to MSM-- offering both the bad and good about their experiences here.

In 2016, NR told the Dopey podcast interviewer that he met a "hardcore Venice kid," attending Second Nature for heroin addiction, and two years later, while NR was living in a sober house, NR reached out to him because he wanted to try heroin, and shot up for the first time with his former rehab pal. NR was 18.

The iconic director’s troubled middle child, now 32, said he then went to Skid Row with his former rehab pal and shot up for the first time.

Did NR ever say that if it was a one shot deal or did he continue using heroin?
If he became addicted to heroin was he also being treated with methadone?

I have really really been thinking about this as well......... The industry has made such a celebratory thing about "nepo babies"...
And collectively, all these rich and famous feed the machine, as if "my kid is prettier than your kid".

On the whole, they are just parents. But I am certain there is a lot of discussion going on ---with "nepo teenagers" specifically................

I was thinking maybe they gifted him money each year to avoid taxes but $120k per year is way over that limit. No rent, probably free food, no utilities, no sense cuz it probably went 90% for drugs & ubers

Look at legacy entitlements in the ivies. My Dad got me a clerical job at Boeing a thousand years ago. What particular jobs do his siblings have to afford to live in Brentwood. I think concentrating on nepo teenagers is like sticking a finger in the dam.

Look at the Kennedy clan, many just start foundations. Some died famously from drugs.

Several comments upthread suggested that they died together while they were asleep in bed, but that doesn't make sense with what we know. That is the most peaceful way to imagine what happened.

If they were in bed together when they were murdered, their daughter would have seen evidence of both of them at the same time and she would have known that her mother was also deceased. I'm assuming that it would have taken a minute to process what she was seeing - and in that moment she would taken in the room - not just her father.

Instead, reports are that she discovered her father's body, immediately went outside, and did not know that her mother had also been murdered. That suggests two bodies in two different locations. Her father's body would have been closest to the entrance for her to find him first.

They were murdered shortly after they left the party. Rob and Michele may have heard someone entering their house, and Rob may have gone to see who it was. Since Nick was intent on murdering both parents, Rob would have been first, Michele second.
