CA - Murder victims Identified as Rob Reiner and wife Michele - LA Dec 14 2025

At 15 years old, there are many teens who have said I hate my parents. My mom is my best friend now but in high school we argued tons and I recall I told her I hated her several times. i also recall many of my friends saying the same thing. Did we mean it? Most likely not. When my son was in middle school and I grounded him he also told me he hated me. I think it is more common than not so in my opinion, this is just more of a smear campaign and money grabbing ploy. I wonder if this roommate made any money from his interviews? MOO
Yes I understand what you're saying. ^^^

Except this thread is about Nick and Nick only, and no one else.

Other teens or young adult or even older may express these feelings, and sometimes it's just words that will pass.
In Nick's case the up close and personal nature of the murders speaks to a long-simmering rage that other young people may not hold.

I'm not ready to give Nick a pass for what he did, but that's only my opinion; his parents tried to get him help and never gave up on him until the moment they were brutally snuffed from the world.

Thinking about the first responders who had to deal with the carnage and remove the remains of Rob and Michele, wonder if they needed any professional counseling afterwards ?

Doubt it's a smear campaign by the roommate, it sounded like a true testimony of what they heard Nick say; but again anything's possible.
It's just that many other accounts paint a picture of a troubled Nick, and not just the roommate; from reading the posts on this thread.

Right? I am waiting for the door dash driver that delivered his last pizza to give an interview about the interaction.
Thanks for reminding us about that. !
I'd completely forgotten about Nick's DoorDash that night.
Wonder what Nick's demeanor was ?
Calm, ordinary ?

Also, I'm quite sure I heard Harvey Levin - who broke the schizophrenia story - casually referring to a diagnosis of schizo-affective disorder instead. Surely, this change isn't just anecdotal and maybe it has something to do with the taking down of the video.

Diagnosing NR over the years has probably been difficult and "very complex". Perhaps multiple doctors had differing opinions. And NR has his own.

Speaking of which... How would a man last seen asking famous people what their name was and if they were famous react to a famous and "very high profile lawyer" dropping everything to defend him, the son of the very famous parents he's accused of stabbing to death, I wonder after reading about the smirking in the courtroom.

Sounds to me like AJ wanted to protect a client from complete self destruction, while the client wants to own/explain or totally deny what he did. JMHO.

First bolded : IF Harvey Levin doesn't know this himself for sure, it must be taken with the proverbial grain.
Nick may be suddenly schizophrenic after the recent med change, or he may not.
His actions showed a planning to conceal what he'd done after the murders; which may come into play during the trial ?
If there is one, it's a little unclear at the moment.

Second bolded :
Wanted to add to your comment that regardless of which doctors treated Nick or what they prescribed --- IF Nick didn't take his meds, or added street drugs to them, it's almost impossible to definitively declare a diagnosis of anything for certain.
A lot of IDK's about this case.

I appreciate your opinion. The beauty of having a12 person jury is that the team will have differing opinions that can be all expressed and heard about Nick. This is the democratic way. One person's view point doesn't decide someone's fate. Everyone can listen to differing judgments and experiences. I like how websleuthers can present factual articles and even personal experiences in which everyone can learn from and even if they are ones you might not agree with. IMO

It’s too soon to form a knowledgeable opinion because we know nothing of the evidence which the prosecution has gathered. Heck, NR hasn’t even presented a plea yet so it’s impossible to predict the outcome of this case.

That wouldn’t surprise me either. It’s been mentioned in various new reports NR acknowledges that he killed his parents so he obviously had a reason. My money would be on they informed him they were about to pursue a mental health conservatorship once again and he flew into an uncontrollable rage. This could also be a reason he has no intention of pleading NGRI.
