CA - O.J. Simpson & the murders of Nicole Brown, Ron Goldman, 1994 *not guilty*

At the risk of sounding stupid, isn't there anything that can be done to enforce the judgement by the court? I mean, they put you in jail for not paying your taxes. I know this isn't federal court or taxes, but there has to be something. OJ is blatantly thumbing his nose at the court.

Sadly I wonder if its lawyers encouraging Mr Goldman to do this as well.

I am NOT defending OJ but if lawyers are talking Mr Goldman into this under some guise that he will make money or they think they will??

It seems like they are preying on his heartbreak. They need to offer the council that he move on with his life.
Wasting it adding salt to his old wounds cannot be mentally healthy.

I don't think OJ really cares one way or the other so all this does is relive the pain for the families.

I think Goldman's a pretty smart guy. Certainly much smarter than Simpson. I think that its like he said. He just wants to be a thorn in his side and remind him that he's liable for this debt and those murders. :twocents:

Ok here is what I've never understood about this case. I truly believe OJ is guilty.. However, he was declared not guilty by a jury of 12. Now, how can he be sued if he's been declared NOT GUILTY! If he can be sued then that means he's guilty of the crime.. Like I said, I believe he's 10000% guilty and should be behind bars... HELP!! :crazy:

He's "liable," not guilty. In civil court the burden of proof is less. In criminal court, he would have to be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. In civil court, he only needs to be found liable by a preponderance of the evidence.

Example: Robert Blake found NG in the criminal case.
Robert Blake found liable in the civil case.

That was a good book, very sad. I hated it when they showed kim and fred, they looked so devastated. And the Browns. Such a sad situation for both families.

FG is publicly reminding the world to never forget that OJ is a killer. If public perception of OJ is bad, no one will cast him in anything (there was an idea tossed around not long ago about a show that would feature OJ. It was scrapped, wasn't it?)

OJ may be walking free, but his wings have been clipped financially, so as a small comfort, he is not living as comfortably as he once did. Every time OJ goes to court, he has to fork out the $$ from his limited income (an NFL pension?) to pay legal fees.

I remember feeling so sorry for FG back then when the murder trial was on, and then when that useless as -on-a-mule jury came back not guilty in, what, 5 minutes of deliberation? Idiots!

It must be painful and infuriating to see the killer at autograph fairs and sports memorabilia shows laughing, joking around and having a grand time....While making a grand sum of money.


It is my understanding that Mr. Goldman's attorneys advised him to proceed with this suit as other entertainers have sold rights to their likenesses/images, future/potential earnings; i.e.; Muhammad Ali.


If the rights can be sold, the suit states the rights can be garnished.

I would like to see that happen.
