CA - O.J. Simpson & the murders of Nicole Brown, Ron Goldman, 1994 *not guilty*

I don't get it? I thought the Goldman family didn't want this book published.... was it just because they didn't want OJ to profit from it and now that he won't get any $ they want it out there as his 'confession'?

Jubie

I think that is an accurate summation.

I'm disappointed in the Goldmans' over this.

Might as well send the money straight to the Goldman's, make sure the publisher doesn't get his cut. I'd rather do that than read a word of that garbage in that book.
I feel the same way. I wouldn't buy it.

The Brown family sure is against it from what I've read and heard.

I'm not saying I support such a thing because I do not but I really am surprised OJ has not been murdered. I don't mean by a family member or someone hired by a family member but I thought some loon out there looking for glory would have done it.

His kids must be old enough to question his guilt or innocence....:(

The Browns are against the book being published or that the Goldman's are getting the money?
I'm all for the Goldman's getting every dime they can out of OJ...the Browns are a different story IMO.

I won't be buying it. No way. I can't stand OJ.. I have no desire to read the book. OJ is a COWARD. What difference does it make if the Goldmans get the money, so what, not to be mean but there has to be another way. The book is trash IMO.. money or not.. Just don't publish the book PERIOD!!!

May I ask what you mean by "the Browns are a different story"? This may not be the thread for it, but I'm very curious about that. We may share some similar opinions. ;)

I may re-think my plan to buy the book. I read on another message board that any money that this book makes, it reduces OJ's debt to the Goldman's. I don't know if that's accurate but if it is, then that changes things for me.

I agree that the book shouldn't be published. I don't agree, however, that the Goldmans should receive all of the profits. The Browns have a judgment against O.J. as well. The Goldmans should be sharing the profits 50/50 with the Browns. If the Browns don't want their portion, they can donate it if they so choose.

I'm thoroughly disgusted that the almighty dollar would pit the Browns against the Goldmans after all that has happened.

Have the Browns and Goldmans ever been together on anything?? It seems to me that they never got along. You never see them give interviews together. Many times they have been on Larry King on the same show but never together. Usually one family is interviewed and then in another segment the other family. I personally think Denise Brown rubs people the wrong way. From what I understand Mr. and Mrs Brown try to keep out of the spotlight for the sake of Sydney and Justin.

I say good for the Goldmans on publishing this book. I'm sure it burns O.J. to know someone else is getting the money.

I read that the judge ruled that the Browns will get 10% and that everything the Browns get goes into a trust for the children (which OJ has access to).

Nicole Brown Simpson sister: Boycott O.J. book

Denise Brown said she was "shocked and horrified" to learn that a literary agent for the Goldman family had reached a deal to publish the controversial book.

In a prepared statement, she said she couldn't bear that her sister's two children "will have to be subjected to this step by step manual on how their mother and her friend Ron were murdered."...

In her statement, Brown accused Goldman's father, Fred Goldman, and other family members of hypocrisy for publishing a book that he had called "disgusting and despicable" when Simpson first planned to publish it.

David Cook, an attorney for Fred Goldman, called Brown inconsistent for denouncing the publishing plan after lawyers for her and her family sought a share of possible profits from the book for themselves.

==================================================

Something told me that Denise was outraged for reasons other than Justin and Sydney's feelings. This doesn't really surprise me.

i dont think this is about money for the goldman's. they want to make sure OJ dont get a dime but they really want people to know what he did. every1 says he is guilty but he still gets invites to posh golf courses here in florida. they want every ugly detail out there. i wont buy it. i dont want anything OJ thought floating around in my head. i have enough nightmares already. i just dont blame them for wanting to hurt him anyway they can.

sherri,
I agree with you. I probably won't buy the book, but if it gives the Goldman's the feeling that they are getting some kind of justice, then I have no problem with them receiving the money. They haven't seen any money yet from O.J.

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — O.J. Simpson must hand over his Rolex watch and other assets to satisfy part of a long-standing judgment that found him liable for the deaths of ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman.

I think this is hilarious. I hope the Goldmans never leave him alone until the day he dies, which hopefully will be in jail.

I love it!!! O.J. is going to go out of his house looking like a street bum from now on.

I think this will be a bonanza :woohoo: for the Goldman's but of course OJ's lawyer is trying to burst their bubble by claiming the Rolex is a fake! Hah! I doubt OJ would settle for fake anything. :croc: :bang:

The items would then be auctioned by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and the money they bring in given to Goldman. His attorney David Cook estimated the watch's value between $5,000 and more than $20,000.

Simpson attorney Ronald Slates said his client had already handed the watch over to him and he planned to give it to Goldman's lawyers Tuesday afternoon. He questioned, however, whether it's a real Rolex.

"Know any Rolex watches that sell for 125 bucks?" he asked, adding that's what Simpson told him he paid for it. The lawyer acknowledged, however, that if it is fake, "it's a pretty good copy."

The court order specifies a "Submariner Rolex Watch" that was identified in a photograph.http://www.ktvu.com/news/14253993/detail.html

It would get more money than that just because it was once owned by O.J.

Absolutely. I hope Ron Goldman's family keeps after OJ until the day he dies.
