Orrin, Orson West are 2 of 65,202 children reported missing in 2020 statewide | KGET 17
In 2020, there were 65,202 missing children reported in California, according to the California Department of Justice. That number includes 30 stranger abductions and 1,588 parental abductions. Two of those missing children: Orrin and Orson West.

The boys were reported missing on December 21, 2020. The California Department of Justice breaks up the number of missing children into different categories, but the category the West boys fall under remains unknown.

IMO Perla Shaheen did an admirable job of trying to answer questions from viewers. Seems like many of those questions came from WS but it’s hard to tell. I’m glad an msm reporter is following the boys’ case!

Between Pearla and Byan Wang, they sure seem to produce great journalists/reporters in the Bakersfield/Cal City area. Kudos to them both.

This is my speculation as well. (Being sold). Every purpose I can think of is tremendously upsetting.

One thing I am sure of. All the postering, baloney stories, and so forth aren't going to stop LE from their mission. This is one determined team, and it started with hero Chief Walker in CC. The Bakersfield PD is equally determined. The evil doers will be brought to justice.

In our times of uncertainty, stress, divide, and challenge, it's good to know that as flawed as we are....people still care deeply about two sweet little innocent boys.

Wednesday marked a somber anniversary: it's been 100 days since brothers Orson and Orrin West were reported missing by their adoptive parents in California City.

"It's been 100 days and it's been too long," said RW, a cousin of Orson who was born as Classic.

This is such a numbing statistic.

All can't be murdered or sold!

All the elements were present here for a happy ending for six children: two willing parents made a home for all of them.

The plan was for a permanent, stable environment. They moved out of an apartment into a home of their own -- the American dream!

During what for most children is the happiest time of the year - a Christmas tree, Advent calendar, and pending visit from Santa, it all disappeared.

The two youngest children, Orrin and Orson, vanished under very questionable circumstances, and four other children placed with strangers. The family home sits empty and shuttered.

How does one exist without their children? How do you get through breakfast not knowing where your babies slept or if they've been fed?

Somebody knows.

Somebody saw.

That includes 62,000 runaways and, more incidentally, 7 missing after a catastrophe of some kind:

A much smaller percent are still missing.
41,000 of those children returned on their own
14,000 were returned by law enforcement
1200 were arrested
and nearly 400 reports were withdrawn by the reporting party, which would include things like miscommunication or a lost child found by family or friends
