I hope it’s not a big ordeal for her. I was basing my thoughts on a friend here in Oregon who was out of her house for a month because of the smoke. Some of that time may have been insurance issues. So here’s hoping.

A 32 year old Australian, Rory Sykes, has been confirmed as a victim of the fires. (I presume Palisades, as his location was Malibu.) His death was announced by his mother. Rory is another young, disabled victim of these fires. He was blind/low vision from birth and lived with cerebral palsy.

So far this evening in Mandeville Canyon, the fire seems to be being driven by the topography, not the wind. It's heading east, fast.
