They could have been together at other times though. Or someone else could have been around.

Yes, true. Then LE need to see footage from cameras outside the parcel store and surrounding area to see if someone was waiting for him, or if he went back to his car, another car, or even where his car was parked.

I personally would like to hear from the 3rd man that went running with them on Friday evening. I wish he'd do an AMA.....

JY seems genuinely distressed to me. Opinion/impression only from watching carefully.

thanks for the gut check. i think there is more than meets the eye with regards to JY and PK's marriage - but i agree with you those news footage segments don't provide any evidence. i do think their behavior more closely resembles a separating couple than a close one

There may be. It could also be the "run of the mill" stress of adjusting to parenthood. It does sound like they have a lot going on, and as though both PK and JY would expect a lot of themselves and of one another.

I used to live near MIT, and knew quite a few people who worked there, or attended. It can be a very high pressure environment, and JY strikes me in both interviews as someone trying to keep a stiff upper lip.

It’s a solitary sport at its best

I don’t think that’s true for a lot of people. I transitioned from triathlons to ultras because being able to chit chat helped those long trainings day go by easier and faster. So hard the hear on the bike for me at least) or talk while swimming. In the sacramento area it is easy to find evening and weekend group with enough people that someone is running your pace.

and the :35 ish estimate doesn’t sound that strange when you are a planner and look at the elevation profile. You should be able to come with in 5 or so if it’s less than an hour run.

5. Security footage from PK & JYs home. Most people have...something now. It would be unusual if they did not have at least one camera which would show him entering/leaving the home.

I finally read the texts after seeing so many comments on it. I don’t see anything that raises a flag. They both sound like they love the sport and possibly nerd out on routes. I have a few friends I ran with and our conversations looked pretty similar-breaking down the route, vert, location, time to get there and miles. Doesn’t sound out of the ordinary. I personally like to hit the trails alone but their are trail runners who embody confidence, ego and bravado and I get that sense from the person involved that’s texting that isn’t Phillip. It’s an interesting sport. The fact that he mentioned he is going to get a safety beacon now is what solidified for me that he’s just a dude trying to find his friend and reflecting on that he can do in the future to ensure he is found. I always run with a safety beacon for that reason. You just don’t know what can happen.

I mean they have 2 very young children......Surely they have cameras INSIDE? Virtually everyone does, even if it is to monitor a toddler who is napping in another part of the house to make sure they do not quietly wake up and do something crazy while you're making dinner.

Watched the 2 vids -8- linked to above. Thx.

Nothing struck me as odd.

Except the Dad saying he was very strong and could be 20 miles away "from the center of town". OK.

So, I guess 6 days ago when the Chanel 5 piece was made, the story at that time was PK became disoriented in the heat and ran 20 miles that a way.

agreed 10000% and PK was a very very tech saavy guy . his education, work, expensive fitness watch, dedication to his kids, and locale (Berkeley, CA) all indicate he should have at least one camera (i'd predict Ring Doorbell) that should have something

What are you suggesting could be on the (theoretical) home cameras that would be of help locating Philip?

I mentioned the cameras as a way to definitively prove he was home at certain times. And if he was alone.

Also, PK says he would need to be IN Stockton by 12-1230, and finished with the run by 10:30....

This is a couple hours earlier than what actually seemed to have happened? i.e. he phoned JY around 11 to say he was starting his run....the end would be around 12:35....?

I'll admit it's not clear how CT obtained the texts between PK and his wife, so it's hard to know what to believe now. But if ETA was 1235-ish, and if for most uses ETA means estimated time of arrival, then this likely meant his arrival time in Stockton. Start the run at 11 (time of the alleged phone call, which came after the ETA text), throw in 50 minutes for a 6 mile run, then Googlemaps says 45 minutes to Stockton, and you get 12:35(ish).

The more I read CT's AMA however, the more strange it seems. Even if it's what many think happened, that PK perished in the park, why begin the AMA with the most macabre details about animal scavenging? Also, in Strava I found few, if any, runs that PK and CT did together before July 9. Maybe somebody else has looked at this and can comment. The wholesale control of the narrative by CT is beginning to look off to me.

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

why i dont even entertain lions:
(1) they don't hunt in the daytime
(2) if they did hunt in daytime, odds are it wouldn't be 90+ degrees
(3) even if they did hunt in daytime at peak heat, they would not have energy to either (a) devour every last trace including shoes or (b) drag him so far down-ravine that thermal drones didnt capture anything

*things to keep in mind:
-less than 10 fatal mountain lion attacks in california in recent decades (too lazy to find source)
-PK was 5'11" and 160lbs . other lion victims in the park were small fawns, much easier and more plentiful prey (not to mention the local squirrels, rats/mice, rabbits, and turkeys)

open to critique, as always. you WS folks are a fun bunch i kinda like it here

To be clear, I'm still not putting forth a strong theory of anything.

I am almost 100% certain he was not attacked and consumed by mountain lions, or a victim of a random act of violence. Statistically speaking, for a fit man in his late 30s, in the middle of the day on a weekend, both of these seem absurdly unlikely to me.

Self disappearance then?

I wonder if other vehicles have tracking devices, and if so, if they have been checked?

Self disappearance then?
PK truly did love his kids, all evidence (texts, actions, friends' opinions, and even fam photos) make it clear.

was PK the kind of guy to selfishly disappear and leave his 8 month old + toddler with lifelong existential questions about their faither?

without any hint as to "why" he wanted to potentially disappear, aside from pure speculation about an unhappy marriage, its all a shot in the dark with the voluntary disappearance theory (plus he wouldve been sighted by now, albeit potentially bearded)

So.....the first night he came and picked up PK, after unloading the groceries. Was JY home then?
