This is the kind of scenario I was entertaining. I had not thought of another run. I have read through accounts of people who have recently gone out and ran the route PK planned, and learned the lot he was in is very small.
In CT's AMA pdf, CT states that plans for Saturday 7/10 Mt. Um run fell through and that CT and PK were interested in Sunol, Ohlone, and Del Valle trail run. This implies to me that CT was possibly with PK or met up with PK the morning of 7/10 to join PK on the Pleasanton run. I wonder what car CT drives? CT has not stated where CT was with PK at any time on 7/10. I would think CT would go on run with PK on 7/10 especially since PK was available to run with CT and may not be once PK was on kid duty beginning at around 12:35pm 7/10. Maybe the plan was for a "one way trail run" due to time restraints of needing to be in Stockton by 12:30pm in which end spot was Moller Ranch Staging area but start was somewhere else; hence 2 cars. CT is incredibly invested in finding PK which is fantastic. I just wonder why the police are not as involved as CT in locating a missing person that basically seemed to vanish shortly after 10:50am Sat 7/10. I live 25 minutes from Pleasanton, and it appears that where Philip parked his car at Moller Ranch Staging area, there is residential community traffic that goes past Moller Ranch Staging parking lot throughout the day. Yes, it was extremely hot, around 105 degrees, that Saturday, 7/10, but it was not a deserted area where Philip's car was parked. Lastly, many areas on Pleasanton trails like Moller Ranch Staging area have game cameras with some being motion sensored. Thus, police would be able to capture some images if any if humans or animals were on certain trails and at certain times. If PK alone or with another runner parked at Moller Ranch Staging but did not run there, it could be that the trail that was intended for running was close by and no parking available.

That is interesting about the presence of game cameras on many of the trails. Hopefully LE has information they're not releasing. The more time passes, the sadder this is.

Did anyone discuss car keys / key fob? We’re they in the vehicle? Was it unlocked? How did he typically handle keys when running from a parked location? Would be interesting what prints are on keys / start button of car.
Back in mid-July 2021, I asked PK's volunteer search group about PK's keys but was told only that the police were attending to that part (keys) of details. So far, police have not said anything about Philip's keys.

Aren't we allowed to mention info from an admin of a "help find" missing person fb page? CT seems to have answered several further questions: the car was locked, and a change of clothes was in it (not just the shirt). There was also mention of several mines and tunnels in the general area, which he indicated seem to have been considered by SAR efforts.

Not sure what the issue is, but YES, information from an Admin of the approved FB page is allowed. Additionally, because it is the Admin of the FB page who established and maintains the AMA, any information provided by that individual on the AMA is also allowed.

If I've misunderstood the issue or if further clarification is required, please private message me

I recall seeing (I don't know from what source, sorry if that's not allowed) that several neighbors have barred police from searching the perimeter of their properties, one that even made threats if any searchers even came near his house. Is that suspicious? If someone went missing in the vicinity of my house, I would absolutely let police search my property. Random volunteers is another story, but I surely wouldn't threaten them with violence. That's a truly odd reaction, in my opinion. Unless you have something to hide. That something might be completely unrelated to PK's disappearance, but still...

This was discussed to an extent about mid-thread.

I agree with you in the regards that I would absolutely allow my property to be searched in a situation as this...but...

(from one of my previous posts on the topic)
As far as some land owners not allowing their property to be searched isn’t automatically suspicious to me either. Although, I don’t 100% agree with it, I do respect it. Some people are private. Some think “liability” if a person was hurt while searching the property. And sadly, some people are just uncooperative.
Respectfully, JMO

It could be completely irrelevant, but I'm just curious why CT didn't go ahead with his early Saturday plans at Mt. Um. PK wasn't reported missing until hours later.
^THIS!!!!

Yeah I came across this info googling and found some data as well
^THIS!!!!
my understanding per texts was the mt unum trip isn’t till later during the day so maybe by the time CT had to go PK was already reported missing... although we don’t have the full details!

There’s something cold about not allowing a family to retrieve their family member if they are on private property. Not to be morbid but who wants a missing person on their property for long?

I just re-looked at the AMA. When they were discussing Mt. Um, CT asked questions about whether various times would work for PK -- to me that implies there wasn't a specific time set with others. Then PK said Mt. Um on Saturday wouldn't work for him at all and they switched to talking about plans for that night rather than the next day. So now I think I was wrong in thinking that CT had existing plans to run with a group on Saturday.

^THIS!!!!

LOL sorry but I just talked myself out of that question! :p

I totally agree with you.

Did you all see the new lead in the search?

The FB admin has received points of interest to search…”Doc Perkin’s House” and “Me. Moller’s Shooting Range.”

To Note:
We want to direct folks to search in the hills for specific areas of interest.
I'm looking for information on wells and mines, shafts, pits, waterfalls (not Tehan Falls - we are familiar) , etc up in the hills: East of Palomares Rd, West of foothill, South of Dublin Canyon Road and as far south as Sunol. Ideally you will find the location (geo coordinates) on a map and send it to the [email protected]

...

If not geo-coordinates then describe how to get to the point as best you can using whatever landmarks you can find from topo maps, etc. Use a link if you can so I can see the map myself and not just a small photo. Photos of maps are better than nothing. Try Google Maps.... use the different Layers....Use the EBRP Maps.... and many others out there available. Here is a useful map that might aid you..see photo below. . this is the primary search are for me in regards these Wells, mines, etc...This on line map is found by going to this link: https://hydro.nationalmap.gov/arcgis/rest/services/nhd/MapServer
Once there, go to: the ArcGIS Map Viewer Link as seen in the photo below. Zoom in on our area here west of Pleasanton and... get cracking!

Also:
I have been given directions to points of interest but they reference old "Doc Perkin's house" and "Mr. Moller's shooting range". These mean nothing to me and I need some harder information so I can use these landmarks etc. ... ones I can find on a map.

Thanks everyone! If we put our heads together and collaborate we can do anything.....Lets Find Phil!

I think to call it a "lead" is a misnomer.
Maybe so, but it was framed that way within the comments by people who know PK and the lead searchers.

Dennis Baker Find Philip Kreycik

July 28; July 29

Needed ASAP: We (Philip Kreycik search party) are trying to make use of camera footage from any TESLA automobiles that were in the Moller Ranch neighborhood and Foothill Rd on the morning of July 10 from 10:30-2:30. We ask if any TESLA owners would please check dash cam footage if in the area during this time.

Missing East Bay Runner's Family Not Giving Up Hope

Every time I read an interview from Philip’s father, it breaks my heart. I can’t imagine what any of the family is going through. However, his father isn’t losing all hope.

From the article (July 28):
"We believe that there's a chance that Philip made it out of the park," Kreycik's father said Wednesday. "If he did, we think that he will come back. He may be recovering from a physical problem or a challenge of some sort, but we're convinced that there's a good Samaritan who's looking after him and taking care of him."

New article from the Pleasanton Weekly Pleasanton community steps up to support missing runner's family

Karla Brown had a private meeting with the family and Pleasanton PD yesterday. Karla is Pleasanton's mayor. Family members included in the meeting were parents Keith and Marcia, sister Claire, and wife Jen Yao.

Marcia is quoted as "That's the person he is; he's not just one to go off and leave everything he values behind."

Search site home base at Foothill High will need to be moved to another location....they are looking at other possible locations. Students are returning soon. One possible location is the Alameda County fairgrounds.

No surveillance cameras at park exit points show Kreycik exiting park. Unclear if this is all city exit points or EBRPD exit points or both, official exit points and/or 'unofficial' exit points (ambiguous),

Kreycik's extended family has flown in and helping with the search.

“Ol’ Doc Perkins’ house” sounds straight out of a Scooby Doo episode!

Any body of water close enough to be of interest to searchers?

I just still find it so odd that, in the case of a medical event or animal attack, that the dogs would so quickly lose the scent. How likely is it to still be detectable in the most open, highest, and therefore hottest point of the trail, than it would be down lower where there’s more grass, trees, and shade? That parking lot and trailhead are at like a high point, and it gets so hot there, where as the trail itself, especially the fire trails to lead to the main trail, are lower and shaded. Not to mention, the trailhead and lot are probably more trafficked, where all manner of things other than heat could erode scent faster. Idk, just a thought.
I hiked PK's posted Strava route on 7/25. Turtle Pond is full of water and turtles, there is a water faucet at the top of the ridge near the radio tower. CT said the footprints were on the Mariposa trail which is an earlier cutoff, but PK should have known about Turtle Pond and might have known about the water faucet on North Ridge. Has there been confirmation from any LE that the picture footprints are a match for PK's Saucony running shoes?
