I am not sure they really did. Maybe they were making him feel comfortable so they could nab him.
Very well could be, if that is the case, could you imagine keeping it together with those thoughts and their daughter/sister missing? Devastating. IMO

I bet he is the one that texted mom. Man, I hat this out come for the little babies. They lost their mommy and their dad. As a survivor of domestic abuse, my advice to any mom's or dad's doing custody exchange do it at public location. McDonalds, Police Station. Not at your home. Always have a friend or relative with you. Video, lots of video. I hope the kids didn't witness this. MOO

MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Thursday, November 10, 2022, at 8:31 pm, the Simi Valley Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from Emily Castillo, a Simi Valley resident. Emily stated she arrived home at her Wood Ranch area apartment and found evidence that a struggle occurred inside. Her sister, Rachel Castillo (25 years), who resides with Emily, was missing. Rachel’s personal belongings, including her cell phone, car keys, and vehicle, were still at the location.

Simi Valley Police Officers responded to the apartment and conducted a preliminary investigation. Based on evidence at the scene, officers suspected that a crime involving serious injury occurred. Rachel was entered into the Missing Persons System, and the SVPD Detective Bureau responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives have been working continuously since that time to locate Rachel and develop leads in the case.

This afternoon, Detectives located human remains of an adult female in a remote location within the Antelope Valley. The Detectives, along with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains as Rachel Castillo.

The primary suspect in this case, is Rachel’s ex-husband, 25-year-old, City of Hawthorne resident, Zarbab Ali. Mr. Ali was arrested, this afternoon at his parent’s home in Victorville, in connection to Rachel’s homicide.

This investigation has rapidly evolved over the past few days. This case is still under investigation and some details cannot be released due to legal and investigative reasons. The Simi Valley Police Department will release additional details related to this case when it is available.

I wonder where they found her remains at. The far east end of the valley can get pretty desolate but there are a few communities out there. Plenty of places off the 138 or the 18 where he easily could have not be seen dumping the body.

That ^^^ fact had made me suspicious of her ex. Many women I know who work with DV victims are survivors themselves or they saw it in the childhood. Just like a lot of drug counsellors are recovered addicts. JMO
Same. But I didn't want to say it.

Moo. Maybe he took children to his parents or a sitter. Then returned , he knew she would be alone

I think Rachel's family suspected him all along

The family even trusted him. SMH, this is so upsetting.
I don't think they did at all. IMO they were being told by LE or even Rachel's Dad what to say and post on social media.

Little leaks from her parents - Dad said "do the right thing" in a media interview. Mom said Rachel texted her when pick up of kids occurred.

Heartbreaking loss for her kids and family. Such a good people, close knit and loving. God I hate domestic violence, so senseless.

Maybe along the route to Victorville?

That's why I'm thinking the east end of the valley somewhere between Llano and the county line. Plenty of places both north and south of the 138 and north of the section of the 18 that is in LA County. I'm also wondering how the pinpointed the location of the body so quick.

Ugh. I don't understand how he could do this to his children. I'm so very sad to find out she's deceased. Prayers for her family and children. Justice for the ******* who murdered her. RIP Rachel.

So sad. I feared this was the case all along. So sorry Rachel.

Really sad to see this update
Thinking of Rachel's children and family ♥

So often, we hear of similar situations: ex or current partner murders the female.
Once the relationship sours, the female should make plans to leave, with support +++.
However, we all know, even such planning can be in vain.:(
:(:(

I wonder if his vehicle had GPS in it? Or they were able to track his phone? Would he be stupid enough to take his phone along when he disposed of her?

He was stupid enough to post on Facebook about her being missing like he wasn’t the reason for it. I wouldn’t be surprised if he brought his phone along, maybe even the children too. His poor kids…he’s ruined so many lives, and for what?! Starting to think that men who murder their significant others don’t actually care about whether they’ll get away with it, they just want to punish the woman once and for all. It should be common knowledge in our day and age that eventually forensics and law enforcement will be able to make the connections easily.

The only people I can imagine thinking they’d actually pull it off would be LEO or lawyers. Otherwise, it would seem like murderers are more concerned with the catharsis of exerting their power over someone they want to hurt. Idk don’t come for me, I’m not a forensic psychologist these are just my fed up musings.
