CA - Roman Anthony Lopez, 11, found deceased, poisoned , Placerville, 11 Jan 2020 *arrests*

“He was a sweet, kind little boy,” Rochelle Lopez said Tuesday in a video call with FOX40.

“I had to find out that my son died from a news article,” Lopez said. “Nobody called me. His dad didn’t call me.”

“I ended up getting deployed when Roman was about a year old to Iraq,” Lopez said.

Lopez said she came home from serving in the military with PTSD, health problems and substance abuse issues, which is why she said she was not given custody of Roman.

“This is literally my worst nightmare, you know. I moved to Wisconsin and started treatment so I could be back with my son and it's like I feel like I just missed it,” Lopez said. “If I would have done this a month sooner, maybe it would be different right now.”

“Roman was the sweetest little boy and he definitely didn't deserve this,” Lopez said. “And I am going to do everything I can to figure out what happened. I’m actually getting ready to go from Wisconsin to California to say goodbye to my son and bring him back home.”

He just looked like a dirty, happy little boy that really needed a bath.

Just hearing about Roman seeing that photo of him...the bruising on his head & wrists make me physically illThat absolutely looks like someone used restraints on him I have a son & no way would he ever go anywhere dirty like that! So the current pictures of Roman show him as thin, possibly malnourished, possible bruises--and not particularly happy.

The picture given to LE and the media was a Roman from a couple of years ago when he looked a lot healthier and happier.

That seems, to me, to be telling.

IDK if authorities were contacted or not concerning Roman but I do know CA CPS is a joke.
They continually day in and day out fail innocent children.

Unable to post links with this Android but it's all out there. Very recently I read article about 4000+ cases falling through the cracks. It's disgusting

This wouldn't be the first case where a family moved states multiple times and was unable to be tracked by CPS. I don't like to beat up on CPS too much as in most states it is woefully underfunded and understaffed and most "boots on the ground" social workers do want to do the right thing. I am so horrified for his bio mom who found out via news/internet.
