"They talked to The Bee for more than 90 minutes Wednesday, but asked not to be photographed."
[...]
"Lindsay Piper said they drove to the Placerville Police Department, about three minutes from their house. But the station is closed on Saturdays."
[...]
"Next, she went to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office. But they didn’t have a deputy available, Jordan Piper said. When they did get to speak to a deputy, they told the family they’d be on the lookout for him."

This says it all....more to this story....sad.

"Multiple calls by The Bee to the Placerville Police Department and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office were not returned Wednesday. Minutes after The Bee first published this story did the agency release an update on the investigation, in which they explain why few details have trickled out.

“The limited information provided to the public has been essential to this case because of the circumstances,” the release at 2:03 p.m. said. “There is very sensitive information that if released, could jeopardize the investigation.”

That was my question. Kid looks super bruised. Why no call to the police?
The Mom from Michigan (SK) who let these people "take care" of her three kids. Stated that LP was homeschooling her seven year old. So I'm wondering if Roman was not in school. The minute I saw the pictures of the kids on LP's facebook page, Roman stood out. All the others kids are "robust" to put it politely, Roman is a bag of bones. :(

I looked for criminal records for LP & JT in Genesee County 67th District Court and came up empty. Anyone else have any luck?

I don't think the Dad could have much of a criminal history because of the journeyman electrician job he had just been hired for, by the state of California. They wouldn't have hired anyone with a criminal history in that job.

So the kids all look healthy but this little guy looked starved? I have never been able to understand how and why parents single out one child to torment and punish and make miserable. Was Roman challenged in any way? On the spectrum? ADHD? ODD? OCD? What was different about put Roman that he would be picked to torment the way he was?

I think the description reads: 2 BR 1 BA upstairs; 2 BR 1 BA downstairs, unless I'm mistaken.
Duh, I need to quit distracted posting, thank you Alexwood :)

I think Roman was the only bio-child of his father?

The oldest 4 were from stepmom's prior marriage. And the 3 youngest were like foster children?

So he was Dad's only child and had a different mom from all the rest. Maybe that made him target for someone?

Was there a video of the father and step mum talking to the bed in the above article.
if there was it's now been changed to a video of the investigation so far. I couldn't see where it would indicate where Roman could have been found.
apart from the statement that he likes to hide in small quiet places, or something to that effect.
is that it?
so very sad.

All I can guess in this case is that Roman had a different mother than the rest. Maybe that set him apart, made him a target for Dad's anger at his ex?
Or resented and bullied by an older son? How old are his “brothers”?

Hmm. Dad probably worked a lot to support everyone there, maybe he wasn’t home a lot.

Good question. Some are teens but I don't know the exact ages.

Not another one. I have a son named Roman. This breaks my heart.

A journeyman electrician for the State? With that rent and those many kids? I tried looking in the State employees database but paywalled again. :(

Edit: I was even willing to re-subscribe, just Wednesday and Sunday for awhile--but they want $98 in advance.

Maybe somebody else can look at the database and see.

The video of the investigation so far holds some key clues. If you go to about 50 seconds in, you will hear the dispatcher describe the current search location....continue listening....I think it makes it clear where they found his body.

Is the dad a suspect?

He was hired for a new wildfire prevention program being done to prevent the many wildfires started by electrical wires falling/breaking. I bet it pays pretty well.
