CA CA - Sandra McCarty, 8-months & Whisper Owen, 36, Endangered Advisory, silver 2006 Chev Trailblazer, last seen N Glenn & E Yale, Fresno, 15 Jul 2025

She has a 17-year-old from a previous relationship as well as an 8- and 3-year-old with her partner. The kids are "all devastated wanting to know if and when they will see their mother again," her brother

Maybe it’s just the way the quote is written, but what about Sandra? Is the “partner” her father also?

BBM

Many sources have said that the partner is the father of the baby and two other children. I just pulled up the first one I came across in order to provide a link -- but there are many others as well.

"Owen’s family doesn’t suspect her partner of any wrongdoing, her brother told CNN. The partner has been searching frantically for Owen and their baby while also caring for their other children, Richard Owen said."

Also -- I don't think there is any reason to doubt that the doctor appointment was legitimate. I can't imagine that LE didn't confirm the appointment early in the investigation. IMO - if there was no appointment, that would have been mentioned either by LE or the family.

I was really surprised to see the recent mention of a phone ping. From the beginning, Whisper's mom, brother and partner have all said that she doesn't have a working phone and hasn't had for nearly a year.

Sadly, I have always thought, and still think, that there was an accident and they are under water. I hope I am wrong.

It might have not been working but if she connected to a wifi , would that make a ping? Plus LE would had had to be able to ID the actual device to ping it so , thats a lot of questions .

I think this is still going to be an accident .

AWP?
adventures with purpose?

There is AWP, and there is also a successful volunteer dive team that is lead by a man from Stockton, CA, Juan Heredia.....Angels Recovery Dive Team. They have been involved in several high-profile cases in the area, with successful results.
I keep hoping to see that they have been brought in to help locate Whisper and Sandra. They are located in the same general area, so that should be an advantage. A link to their non-profit services.

ETA-also in this interview, brother states Sandra had shots at appointment and had began running a fever. Thanks @Soulmagent 🙂
CDC info page showing that, at 8 months, she shouldn't have been "on-schedule" to receive vaccinations at this appointment, but that 7-11 months is the time to "catch up" if your baby is behind on shots. Which seems like it would be kind of easy to do if you were going to a pediatrician several hours away from home for some reason.

Just some random am thoughts

What was she doing all mornings prior to dr
What was the Dr appt and was she confirmed in attendance
What was she doing after
What did she purchase at the smoke shop - I’m inclined to believe she went here for a reason
Has card been used
Phone calls?

Nope , cant hold people to compulsory attendance during a state of Emergency . Even if the program is online.
I think it would be more that it was not completed and less about attendance.

Good grief. Everything during the pandemic was crazy. They really should waive those types of issues.

If she did not complete a class related to child abuse/endangerment
Why should not completing a class when you’ve been identified as neglectful/abusive be waived?

I wasn’t the one saying it should be waived 🤣

Was it during covid?
I have no idea. We don’t know what the child abuse charges are. They’ve been identified as that time range yes but I can’t figure out why follow through with classes related to child abuse should be waived any point?

I feel like I’m missing part of the conversation that would say that’s okay

That's how I feel about this whole case!

I guess the other poster thinks lots of things were waived during Covid and having a warrant for not finishing a class ir program should be forgiven. I personally don’t know what the child abuse or endangerment charge was so I can’t say. I know her brother said she never would “intentionally” hurt her kids which could mean anything.

Could be leaving a kid unattended, could be a kid around drugs or weapons, failing to get medical care… who knows

The classes were usually online at that time, given by people who have no clue what living a subsistence lifestyle is, you don't have a computer, or internet, and you couldn't go to the library, because it was closed.

When these classes are "court ordered", it is done by people who can't conceive of not having a nice place to use their computer, with their internet. Or they cavalierly say, "Oh, they can do it from home". Really?!

Even classes you have to attend, require child care, transportation, parking, on and on...that so many people just don't "get" how much money that costs. It is just an ongoing spiral of poverty, depression, and more "warrants".
