BBM: JMO but I have absolutely no doubt that she is reading everything and anything about her: the good, the bad, and the ugly !

I find it very odd for someone who loved to be photographed NOT to do an interview after she recuperated from being released from her abductors.

WHY no interview and WHY no photographs of this so-called "supermom" ?

All JMO and :moo:

As hateful as people are toward her, I'd find it odd if she did do an interview.

It's possible KP passed the lie detector because he truly didn't know anything (in the early stages). I think it's possible SP made contact with him later on and could've even said I'll be home for Thanksgiving.

If she got into something she didn't want anyone to know about and found herself in over her head, who would she contact? I think the answer to that might be her husband. In her shoes, that's what I would do, in hopes that he would protect me and 'fix it'. All just speculation on my part.

I tend to agree that something like this happened. I don't feel like I want to say she is a liar or set out to lie to the public. I feel like something spun out of control and she doesn't want to reveal it. In doing so she seems to have started spinning a tangled web, of discrepancies if not lies.

I have speculated that, in return for being let go, she promised to lie about her kidnapping and captor(s).

Why would they let her go?

  • #624
Jmo it is totally due to LE that anyone suspects something more (or less) than a true kidnapping with violence took place here. They have been evasive, the "Wanted" poster does not say "kidnapping" or "suspects" (rather, disappearance and individuals) and of late have been hinting at improper relations between SP and the man from Michigan. To me, they have brought about any bad feelings and suspicions about SP and her account of the ordeal. I have to hope they have good reason, though LE is human and can show too little or too much empathy at times.

In the recent murder of Christa McDowell, the sheriff made remarks that sounded way too sympathetic to the husband who killed her and alleged that Christa had way too many "complicated relationships" in her life, as if that justifed his strangling her. He stills seems to favor a crime of passion defense. So you can't always tell what is gping on by what LE says. Jmo

Why would they let her go?

Since we don't know why she was taken, who knows? But some criminals stop short of murder. If they took her to threaten her, they may have made their point. If they took her to keep her for other purposes, the media attention may have been too much.

I am leaning towards this as well. Maybe she was only planning on leaving for the afternoon, but she was going to do something/go somewhere/with someone that she didn't want KP to know about, so she left her phone so he couldn't track her. I think she texted him about lunch to make sure he wasn't going to come home and ruin her plan. Once she knows he won't be stopping home, she goes to meet her ride by the mailboxes and leaves her phone so she can't be tracked. Then something took an unexpected turn and she felt in too deep to come back.

Speaking for myself, I have to disagree a bit. I do think LE introduced some puzzling info. But after initially taking this at face value as a kidnapping, I went HUH? when KP assured his son that Mommy would be home by Thanksgiving, etc. I don't think KP was a perp, though I feel he may have more info after the fact. But he has struck me as unusually dramatic and detailed all along. It makes me a little uneasy about the scenario.

I see evidence that the kidnapping could have been staged (or SP's version of it, at least):

1. Pictures of family just a few days before the disappearance, with the entire family wearing bandannas and two of them with bandannas covering half of their faces.

2. Cell phone found with earbuds neatly coiled on the phone.

3. SP's history of blaming others for injuries that may have been self-inflicted. (You may say this is not a clue, but if anyone checked my history, they would not find a call to police in which anyone said I injured myself and blamed someone else for it).

4. SP's mother posted on FB about the presidential election and other matters, while SP was missing. Very peculiar behavior. Would you be able to do that if your daughter went missing and a huge search was launched to find her? Only if you know things weren't as they seemed, right?

5. SP seems to have selective memory about what happened during the 22 days. She can remember smashing one of their faces into the toilet, but can't remember what the vehicle looked like and took a year to remember enough about her captors to produce a sketch.

6. No motive. SP doesn't even know the motive.

7. Bound with one hand free.

8. LE being elusive on several matters, including the extent of SP's injuries compared to what KP said about them. LE pointing out inconsistencies in SP's story, like the cut on her foot she says she sustained, but wasn't there.

9. KP said to his kids, "she will be home by Thanksgiving". (I do not think KP was involved in SP's disappearance, but I do think he knows why she disappeared.)

10. SP shows up on Thanksgiving! This stands out to me more than anything else. Even if KP hadn't mentioned the holiday to his kids, the fact that SP could re-appear, alive, the survivor, on Thanksgiving morning, is very suspicious to me.

11. She was not sexually assaulted. (Again, what was the motive if not sex or ransom?)

12. LE has never been concerned that others might be in danger from the two Hispanic women, even though they don't know the motive, and the women are still out there. This makes absolutely no sense, no matter which way you twist and turn it.

13. SP texting with another man with plans to meet up, prior to her disappearance. That man has been cleared, but this is evidence that SP lived part of her life on the sly.

14. A prior internet entry by a Sherri Graeff (SP's prior husband is adamant that SP didn't write it) that states she had to constantly defend herself against Latinos in high school, a group of Latino girls would "constantly rag and attack" her, she had to "constantly stick up for herself instead of knuckling under what the Latino girls said and wanted", a Latino girl took a swipe at her and SP "lunged back at her, slamming her head between the bleachers" (sound familiar?) This is WAY TOO coincidental.

15. Also stated in this blog post: "on the way up the bleachers when I had rebuffed the Latinos, I had split my leg open and it was hard for me to walk. But when my dad picked me up from the police department, the only thing he kept saying to me was, "Sher, I'm proud of you. You did the right thing. Keep on walking. Don't let your leg slow you down. Keep walking."

You say you can't fake the love seen in Papini family pictures. ANYONE can fake love in pictures, posts, etc. We see it all the time on FB. People want to paint the picture of a happy family when what really happens is a completely different story.

You also suggest LE might have instructed SP to stay quiet. But in the latest press release, they say SP and KP are free to talk. They're not doing it, perhaps because they have no answers for so many questions.

Didn't her mom also give a restaurant review while she was missing?

That either indicates, "Oh Sherri. Up to her old tricks." (Boy who cried wolf thing) or it indicates dysfunction or lack of caring on the part of her mother. Estrangement maybe. Did she ever make a statement regarding this case?

One thing as to LE's statements about her injuries or lack thereof. That doesn't necessary indicate it's not true. Thy protect the facts.

BBM

I had a hunch this wasn't an abduction when SP reappeared on Thanksgiving morning. In fact, I hadn't paid any attention to the case until then.

Up to her old tricks is the way I interpret it. The P's did give an interview. Be warned, this interview will leave you with more questions than answers!

:seeya:

BBM: Respectfully, I think that when the sleuthing of SP revealed that blog w/ the negative racial comments, it ticked people off and their attitude changed towards her ... and then when she is miraculously released by her abductors, she states that her abductors were 2 Hispanic women ... so again, back to her negative comments from her blog.

I don't think people were intentionally hateful - I think they saw through her for what she really was - or is.

All JMO and :moo:

Why would they let her go?

Follow the money is my hunch! Didn't that negotiator state that money exchange for SP would be absolutely discreet?

No, I mean if she was let go for promising not to identify her captors, why would they let her go? Why trust her? At that point they'd gotten away with it and could have killed her and gotten rid of the body. Now, if they let her go with this promise, they have to spend the rest of their lives worrying the SP is going to tell on them.

I don't think "she promised not to tell" is behind their decision to free her. It doesn't make sense.

I read the comments at this link as well, and am deeply saddened by how terrified many local women were by this situation, and by those who shared stories of having been attacked and raped. If this turns out to be a lie, SP will have done a massive and unforegiveable disservice to so many.

I have consistently gotten a staged vibe throughout this case; no one thing, just a bunch of accumulated "Huh??!!" moments. The huge preponderance of photos and elaborate narrative has not helped dilute that feeling. JMO.

yikes some wild sort of coincidence? The Michigan connection.:shakehead:

The MI thing (texting with a guy who traveled to CA) IS weird. Lilibet posted this article link earlier in the thread about the Detroit-based 'kidnapping adventure' company run by someone in show business:

Inspired by the David Fincher movie 'The Game', Extreme Kidnapping offers clients of the deluxe top of the range experience a torture menu.

The list asks if you are happy to be slapped, water-boarded, stunned by an electric gun and even suspended from the ceiling, while kindly also enquiring if the paying customer suffers any allergies.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...idnapping.html

However, didn't LE state that the mystery man in MI had nothing to do with the case?

They may have threatened her or those she loves if she told. But I still suspect the money in exchange for a living Sherri was the end result.

But that's not the same thing. Satchie's point seemed to be it was release in exchange for the promise, not that money had changed hands. My question is, what would be their motivation in release for promise?

What would be the questions you refer to? Mine is the mom saying she doesn't care how much it costs!

Did you watch it? Tell me that’s normal behavior from a mother with a missing daughter. Mom is acting like she’s talking about a flat tire.
